and the new twists etc are all a bit of a mess- so listen very carefully Grin

I will be out (out) so to cheer myself up, I am starting the thread a bit early.

And the new format is a bit confusing. Grin
Simon has definitely washed his hands of it all- so the Great British Public will be responsible for all the votes, no judges votes at all.
Someone will leave on Saturday, and Sunday as well (I think). There will be no deadlock.

And the top two acts get to sing again to compete to win great prizes Grin (I think Simon has been watching Crackerjack (crackerjack)).

The categories are split over the nights - I think.

Told you it was confusing.

The wildcards haven't officially been announced, so don't know what they are singing. And I'm sad about the lack of Hallowe'en songs.

Some of the song choices are very odd- and I think the ones who sing original songs are at real disadvantage with the GBP.

Anyway. Off to watch dd1 play football in the rain. Will check in later, before I go off to my party.

Fiona Bevan, co-writer of last night's Grace song (and has a connection to Simon Cowell/Syco Music via One Direction and Fleur East)

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiona_Bevan
Fiona Bevan is an English singer-songwriter from Suffolk, who currently lives in London.[1] She is noted for co-writing the song "Little Things" with Ed Sheeran which became a number-one single in 13 countries for One Direction.[2] She also co-wrote "Voodoo Doll" with 5 Seconds Of Summer for their self-titled debut, and also co-wrote "One Night" for Ben Haenow with Ben, Rick Parkhouse and George Tizzard for his deluxe debut album.[3] She also co-wrote the single "Sex and Violence" with Laura Welsh, as well as working with Billie Marten, including co-writing Marten's first single "Heavy Weather", produced by Cameron Blackwood and chosen as Huw Stephens' Single of the Week on BBC Radio 1.[4] She performed on Gwyneth Herbert's album The Sea Cabinet, sharing writing credits on two of the songs. Her debut solo studio album Talk to Strangers (April 2014) was released on Navigator Records.

The other co-writer is Hight, a DJ and producer and songwriter

Rather pleased he is about "his" song. Not much back-slapping from him towards Grace however.

Fiona Bevan is one of the most in-demand top-liners to emerge on the music scene in recent years. Simon Cowell has described her song-writing skills as ‘pure genius’

And apparently next week's theme is Viva Latino. Will Grace have written a Spanish themed song all by herself then ? Wink

Rat Soup will be kicking themselves they didn't keep their 'original' song wot they wrote in Spanish class, til next week. Unless they wrote two that week.
I can imagine Sobby doing an overwrought Gloria Estefan ballad though. Grin

Raahh Grin I am looking forward to that next Saturday, will be sure to have Wine too Grin

I can't wait to see what they're interpretations of Viva Latino is, should be fun Grin

Piggywaspushed · 30/10/2017 14:56

and to think someone joked last night about there being a Latino week!

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 30/10/2017 15:06

I don't understand why they wouldn't want say to say the songs have been cowritten by someone else. It's so unfair not to acknowledge their part. It doesn't take away from Grace's skills to acknowledge it's not a solo effort. If also like to know when the cowriting began.
