Also thought Claudia came out with a couple of great unscripted ripostes

kazzaD66 · 21/10/2017 22:03

Still haven't properly been able to watch Ep2 yet, so I may be imagining it, but did Milan quote CJ twice - first, a twist on the coffee theme and then after that, in answer to Georgie's response, did he utter the immortal words well, did it work? ??!! How anyone could come close to replicating the way CJ said that to Molly is beyond me. I know it seems TG likes to have a laugh playing around with old lines at times but seriously.....Confused

Ilovelblue · 21/10/2017 22:28

You were absolutely spot on with both of those two kazza, yes.

Flowerfan · 21/10/2017 22:41

I also was not impressed with the using of CJ’s special words to Molly especially by Milan

Ilovelblue · 21/10/2017 22:42

Oh yes kazza are you a fan of Milan??

Not really ilove , not really sure why though. The whole Milan /Georgie relationship seems a bit fast and a bit forced. And I was never that mad on Elvis either, so that's not a reason for finding it all a bit weird. I'm afraid I'm a CJ girl through and through, although he's testing my loyalty slightly this series and it's been many, many years since I've been anybody's 'girl'!! ConfusedGrin

Ilovelblue · 21/10/2017 23:08

Totally agree that it's fast and forced. As if he's been shoehorned in for the love triangle and jealousy stuff, in competition with Elvis. I am finding Milan rather creepy to be honest.

Nice to see another West Country person in here Rhu!

Milan is very creepy. Maybe he will be found to be part of the trafficking story that is emerging. After all, he must have arranged with Da Chand for the generator to be delivered!

I think that Maisie and Elvis must have had a bit of a fling after Syria. He can't be expected to keep lusting after GL forever can he. He doesn't seem as bothered as he was in S2. I don't actually like the GL character that much - I thought I would. I've been watching S1 these last few nights and Molly Dawes was a much easier character to warm to. Her family were believable too. Both Molly and Georgie have cantankerous Nans!

kazzaD66 · 22/10/2017 11:31

Also thought it ridiculous that Georgie had a change of clothes and found some earrings aswell for her trip around Kathmandu. Seriously!
Btw, does anyone know the lady with BA in his instagram post? I recognise her but can't remember where from? Also, if he's in Vietnam, MK is back in UK and others doing their own thing, does that mean filming is now finished? I thought they started in Malaysia mid August roughly and MK has said they would be there for 3 1/2 months, which would take them to the back end of November. I also seem to remember Simon posting something about not being back in the UK until December?
Anyway, enough of my musings, I need to crack on. Happy Sunday everyone Smile

Rhubarb01 · 22/10/2017 13:14

Ooh arrr! wibbly

Kazza I was similarly sceptical about the change of clothing, however, on second viewing I did notice that when Georgie left the village she was carrying her fully packed Bergen so it appears that they did take their kit with them when they set off after the kids. I suppose she would have carried at least one change of civilian clothing - must have been a non-iron cotton shirt though. Most stuff you take out of a rucksack looks like it's been vacuum packed.

I have to say that I have enjoyed the use of authentic locations. It looks stunning from that point of view.

As for Milan, yes, I have wondered if he will truly be all he seems. He is so 'good', for want of a better word, that you feel suspicious. What a dreadful world we live in, though, to doubt it. I tend to think he's just there to cause the friction and I might be somewhat technology challenged but why, when Maisie called Georgie, could she see her and Milan in bed? Why didn't it just ring like a phone? Was it not a normal phone call? I'm sure someone can put me right on that.

I think it's been mentioned in cast interviews that Elvis and Maisie have a bit of a 'past' - can't say I blame him for not hanging around being all chaste and loyal for Georgie but goodness he didn't 'alf pick a woman with a big gob! I wouldn't rely on her for her discretion.

Hi not sure about watchalong grinds have just called they may leave before 21.00. If not I shall look forward to reading your comments
May be here later on. Enjoy. I love the bit where CJ looks as if he needs a hug. You can tell I’ve watched that a few times but not all of it really this week. Have enjoyed the diary interview bits though

Ilovelblue · 22/10/2017 20:55

We might end up needing a new thread Rhu. I hope it doesn't come at a crucial moment in the viewing!

Present and correctish!

Rhubarb01 · 22/10/2017 20:58

I don't think we'll do 200 posts - will we?

Rhubarb01 · 22/10/2017 21:00

And we're off!

Ilovelblue · 22/10/2017 21:00

Ready?

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 22/10/2017 21:01

ASAP from CJ - he looks a bit 'all at sea'

Rhubarb01 · 22/10/2017 21:01

Staring at the kids again - I reckon it's significant.

This bit makes me laugh - it shouldn't. the dust on his face which he tries to wash off before Georgie makes the dust fall on him again.

Ilovelblue · 22/10/2017 21:02

First sign CJ isn't totally with it.

Oh Georgie, you shouldn't have sneaked away with Milan like that.

How handy she just happened to have some water handy and that's she's a good shot. I'd no doubt not have thrown it properly!

OP posts:
Ilovelblue · 22/10/2017 21:02

CJ looks very jittery.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 22/10/2017 21:03

I would probably have knocked him out with the water bottle!

Rhubarb01 · 22/10/2017 21:04

He's got a nasty habit of losing Lane hasn't he. He's not at all comfortable with this earthquake scenario is he.

Rhubarb01 · 22/10/2017 21:04

Milan looks a bit like he's had his make up done for Halloween week on SCD.

Ilovelblue · 22/10/2017 21:05

"I Vow To Thee My Country" is one of my favourite hymns but cannot imagine singing it when trapped in a collapsing building.

Don't think Georgie will be trying her luck on X Factor.
