Hi Florence. Welcome to the delightful madness of this thread which has been running for three years now. Saying that, I can hardly believe it.

I think many of us agree that Series 1 is our favourite and the CJ/Molly story is a bit special for all of us. I also think it had a very different feel to series 2. We've just had to learn to accept the new character of Georgie, despite the reservations. Thankfully a bit of Elvis thrown in helps quite nicely. Have you read the previews of series 3? We are a little bit concerned about CJ but hoping he has a meatier role this time. It certainly sounds as if there's more for him than just being Elvis and Georgie's pal.

Great to have new posters on here and especially those who appreciate the special charms of a certain Captain. Long may it continue.

Morning ladies . Told my two friends about S3 starting tomorrow, can't get them interested. They are in their 80s, both really enjoyed S1 and the CJ/Molly romance which resonated with one, she was a WAAF and married an officer. Recorded S2 and watched with them but they didn't enjoy it at all, must admit was the only time I re-watched as well. Don't know what it was about S2 may be not enough of CJ? we got spoilt with S1. Did feel some of the storyline and phrases were too similar and TG didn't quite pull it off.

Having said that am looking forward to S3 the trailer looks interesting.

Rhu, TRish and Flower, this popped up on my Google newsfeed earlier which I thought was a little odd, but then again Google knows I have searched for info on Elvis/Luke! I thought it was quite amusing.

TRish I reread our musings from last night's watchalong just now and I did have to laugh in parts (we were going too quickly for me to read and type my comments at the same time). Rhu and I were almost in sync and as one with some of our comments!

I'm not going to be around tonight unfortunately as I have an evening meeting, but I look forward to catching up with all the comments after I've had a good look at CJ, pref in combats and headset, twirling his finger. I do hope BA has a decent, meaty part this time. TG we are relying on you! We've only been waiting for a few years! The trailers look positive though...

Afternoon. Well I'm still here getting myself in position already - a bit like queueing overnnight for Wimbledon!

Lovely to hear from the old time posters. Hi dance, whajeb, Kezia, cremeeggs.

dance I feel nostalgic looking at that long list of names. It's so strange that one TV series created such a connection with us all. If I ever watch series 1 all those feelings 'come back to me'. The Molly/CJ story just seemed to resonate with all of us. We really explored our own feelings in relation to the characters. I enjoyed series 2 but it was really more as entertainment with some CJ thrown in and the pleasant addition of a bit of Elvis. I'm thinking that this series will be something similar. I don't expect to have an emotional reaction to it but I hope it will be entertaining and give us plenty of 'talking points'. I'm quite excited about the fact that we are getting three chunks of story spread out over the next six months or so - possibly more.

Only another five hours and four minutes to go!

Just a quick extra thought - I'm really liking Brains without his moustache. What an improvement! Maybe if he'd looked like that in series 2 during his little 'tent chats' he could have persuaded Georgie to abandon Dr Boring in episode 1 and saved us all the saga that followed.

I'm also going to make it my mission tonight to spot whether anyone has a blood group other than O+ on their chest. So far almost everyone I've seen has that!

I wasn't here at the beginning of OG1 found you all and ff after checking everything I could find on the BBC site, as like some of you none of my friends watched it thanks I think to Downton. Since finding this site and everything that goes with it can't wait to start at the beginning tonight.

As no one knows about my CJ obsession, I'll be recording it and watching it back after the school run tomorrow morning, so will need to find the willpower not to look at this or the twitter accounts until after then Happy viewing everyone!

Rhu reckon I'll be on that mission too may have to double check on watch back!
