I can't get on with the UK one but love the Aussie one- I love watching them use fresh ingredients and cooking outdoors in the challenges

TizzyDongue · 28/09/2017 19:49

Is the UK one every night too? Don't think I could give the time over to it!!!

You know what I dislike aboit the two elimination safe thing. The decent ones don't get as much practice at cooking under the pressure conditions and the crappy ones (like Gurning Mr Burns the Seafood King)

I admit I might be wrong and they do take part. Problem is I can't recall from one day to the next who it was!!

Josh was even fouler to Amy tonight - if she didn't leave him after the show as has been suggested, we need to track her down and give her a good talking to

TizzyDongue · 28/09/2017 23:01

What is his problem with Court and [Forgotten Name]?

Davros · 28/09/2017 23:28

Yes MKR UK is on every night and I'm fitting it in with Masterchef Oz.

Textpectation · 29/09/2017 00:27

Safe from elimination is a double edged sword. It's a shame they don't cook. They also seem to disappear for a few weeks.

Textpectation · 29/09/2017 22:09

Amy's husband is such a cock. So much so that I've almost forgotten about batting Merrins. Right people went.

TizzyDongue · 29/09/2017 22:23

Batting Merrins commenter has gone hasn't he? Didn't understand it either, Josh is NOT attractive.

He reminds me of a fish. Just can't recall which. Probably a sea fish. Him being the Seafood King.

OP posts:
Textpectation · 29/09/2017 23:09

Isn't Matt (Court's PD) the fella that made the Merrins comment? Can't Google obvs.

secondhoneymoon · 29/09/2017 23:31

I think it was 'Queen Vom's' husband with the big muscles who made that comment?

ellenanora5 · 30/09/2017 01:12

Yep it was him secondhoneymoon, and she puked her fish up in the instant restaurant, and in their instant restaurant they used bottled curry paste I think.

I was thrilled Amy finally told her husband to give it a rest and walked off, and fair play to the others for pulling him up on his behavior, he's a total tool.

secondhoneymoon · 30/09/2017 07:25

Poor Amy, humiliated by your own husband on TV, and agree good on the others. Once the series is over will do some sleuthing on what happened next with them

Textpectation · 30/09/2017 09:39

Ah, I remember now. They must draw straws for who sits next to them at the tasting tables.

Jem55 · 30/09/2017 22:45

Batting merrins means punching above your weight.

Textpectation · 01/10/2017 08:31

Yep. Said to Amy because Josh is so attractive (not). That might be the source of the cuntish behaviour?Probably Josh is just a dick.

TizzyDongue · 01/10/2017 08:41

I doubt it help the situation. I'd suspect he was a dick long before he was 'scouted' a fact difficult to believe. He certainly was a dick long before everyone at the table (pretended?) to be able to see why he would have been scouted - this was the conversation that lead to be batting Merrins comment.

I'm sure his mother loves him.............after all he's got a face only a mother could love.

Finally up to date so I can read the whole thread without spoilers! (about 20 episodes behind on oz masterchef though)

Glad Mel and Cyn went, they just seemed very po faced and stand offish. Desperate for Josh to go - or his wife to dump him during the show. He's just ghastly the way he smirks every time someone gets something wrong. Makes Tyson look like a lovely guy!!

newidentiy · 02/10/2017 14:14

I am still really enjoying this (apart from the awful Josh) but I wish it was the same as they did few years back.

They had the people's choice and 1 couple only went into the elimination and then the next night the bottom 4 teams cooked some sort of challenge, ie starter or main (I think) or they had a box of ingriediants but then they were swapped to another team to cook. Another one was that one person had to stop halfway through, etc.

The loser of that round went into the elimination so that instead of having a cook off every other day like this series it was every few days.

They had more varied challenges as well which included them buying the stuff (as you probably noticed I can't spell ingriediants lol) and then getting to the cook off so they all had different times.

I feel this series is just going to quick after waiting twelve months for it.

I cannot get into MKR UK at all for some reason.

Did anybody watch MKR NZ when it was on, think it was cancelled last year?

TizzyDongue · 02/10/2017 15:28

Completely agree newidentiy. They do seem to be over doing the Sudden Death this year. Last year was ridiculous for the amount of Instant Restaurant episode - become very boring.

Come Back Kitchen was good too (think that's how Colin was introduced)

OP posts:
ellenanora5 · 02/10/2017 17:18

I loved comeback kitchen Tizzy, it was great seeing peoples faces when they thought they had got rid of someone they didn't like Grin

newidentity that was a much better way of doing it, also everyone got a chance to cook nearly everyday where as they way they do it now we don't see some of them cook for a while.

I watched the UK one over the weekend, it was ok but not a patch on this one.

One year they had New Zealand contestants in it didn't they.

TizzyDongue · 02/10/2017 19:38

Didn't they so use to do episodes where they formed teams and had to cook together?

There's definitely too much 'safe from two eliminations' in the last two years.

OP posts:
newidentiy · 02/10/2017 20:25

Yes they did Tizzy i had forgotten that.

I keep forgetting who is even in the competition with safe from two evictions.

I did also enjoy the hidden kitchen.

I didn't enjoy the series where they had the big travelling bus though.
