Anyone else watching ?

Anyone else wonder if she has Aspergers and OCD?

OP posts:
MissTify · 03/08/2017 22:55

Yes I'm watching. She clearly has a lot of mental health issues and is incredibly child-like. I feel sorry for her, but she doesn't help herself and seems to enjoy being a drama queen and having temper tantrums.

Batteredoldchesterfield · 03/08/2017 23:04

Wow! I always thought she was just a massive drama queen, but the 'stuck at eight years old' thing got me to reavaluate. She should never have got past the Big Brother psych screening. I know BB is exploitative entertainment, but she clearly needed help rather than encouragement to act out.

CremeFresh · 03/08/2017 23:14

My ex met her at MIND function, so I think she has sought help for MH issues.

salsamummy · 03/08/2017 23:37

How old is she?

MissTify · 03/08/2017 23:39

She is 34.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 03/08/2017 23:43

I'm watching it now.

Why do you think she has Asperger's?

She admitted she has swapped her anorexia compulsion for cleaning.

SavoyCabbage · 03/08/2017 23:43

I remember when she was leaving BB. She was waiting for the doors to open at the top of the stairs and she dropped her earring or something and she looked so confused as to what to do about it. There was nobody there to pick it up for her and she just seemed so utterly dependent.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 03/08/2017 23:46

Poor thing is a product of years and years in institutions. I feel desperately sorry for her.

Katiekatie37 · 03/08/2017 23:49

I didn't think aspergers but did think OCD . She is incredibly child like, and really didn't like being challenged on reverting to a child like state.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 03/08/2017 23:51

The therapist was right, she was such at 8 and her 8 year old behaviour.

MyBeloved · 03/08/2017 23:53

An incredibly moving programme. The therapist is amazing. Poor Nikki. I hope she continues to move forward. Bless her.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 04/08/2017 00:00

I have very mixed feelings about the therapist tbh.

MyBeloved · 04/08/2017 00:02

Why So, Dame?

HorridHenryrule · 04/08/2017 00:07

I haven't watched it yet but it all sounds very interesting.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 04/08/2017 00:13

Not sure,my gut feeling is a therapist shouldn't be seeking publicity and making money from other people's problems ,it doesn't seem ethical imo.

OTOH anything that normalises therapy and MH issues is a good thing.

Personally I couldn't stand an hour of therapy listening to her patronising voice and her tilting her head every 5 mins Wink

Paperdolly · 04/08/2017 08:07

' making money from other people's problems'

Therapists are professionals who have spent thousands on their training and also have bills to pay? Doctors, nurses, paramedics etc make money from other people's problems and so does anyone in a public service actually.

Sorry...this seems to have hit a nerve. Confused

Was this on C5? I can't see it on catch up for some reason.

rosesandcashmere · 04/08/2017 08:26

Yes, sometimes takes 24hrs to be added to the on demand thingy so check later tonight or tomorrow

You missed out the bit where I said seek out publicity ie doing it on telly ,it's that bit I don't know how I feel about. And yes, I was a bit surprised she didn't respect Nicky's 'silience' too, again wouldn't make for great telly if she didn't get her talking again!

Snap8TheCat · 04/08/2017 09:08

This isn't a one off- this therapist has done a whole series. I get the impression she's told a little bit of what to say by the producers. Some of it seems a bit interview style.

HorridHenryrule · 04/08/2017 09:52

I wonder how much money these celebs are being paid to talk about their issues on telly. I'm poor I have no more money to give themSad. The therapist may get a slot on Big brothers bit on the side.

Allofaflumble · 04/08/2017 17:42

I really identified with her and I have Aspergers. Have no idea whether she has it or not but it would explain a lot.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 04/08/2017 19:25

I seriously question the quality of this therapist who puts good TV before her ethical responsibilities

From the other thread- THAT'S what I meant when I said she was making money from other people's problems.
