I thought she was a bit odd with him. A bit flirty? Quite different from how she has dealt with the women clients they've shown in previous episodes.

Really?! I absolutely did not see that at all!

I do think she was more cautious with him than previous episodes bit flirty, no, definitely not

Yes I thought this too Neolara. I learned more about her than I did him tbh. She was rather 'narrating' him.

To be fair, I think I'd go a bit funny if Calum was in front of me. He is obscenely pretty.

Yourmy, yes, I can't argue with that...he is gorgeous!

Good therapists are supposed to listen, not talk. They're supposed to tease the info out of their client and help them put it back together in an order that is constructive

I've enjoyed all the episodes, especially the sessions with Danniella Westbrook...but sad and painful to watch at the same time.

But surely they 'tease' the info out by talking? How else would they get the client to open up?

Good point Merry! I don't think she understood him at all. He didn't fit with what she knew, but it maybe was just cut and pasted in a bad way.

It was disappointing as having watched him in BB I wanted to find out more about him.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 01/02/2017 23:32

She didn't ask him about his abandoned child, so it was all a bit pointless.

I thought she was flirty with him too but then he is gorge 👅

Report
Patriciathestripper1 · 01/02/2017 23:34

Shock he has abandoned a child?

Report
dataandspot · 01/02/2017 23:39

He has a child and she didn't ask him about that?!

All the stuff about no relationship with his father and he doesn't see his child?!

I think she is a fucking appalling counsellor.

Watching it now. So very many men like him . Boxed off.

Report
Crowdblundering · 01/02/2017 23:45

She brings up past clients to her clients it's so unprofessional- she's awful.

Gives her opinions, advises, talks WAY too much.

Yes, he has a daughter that he refuses to acknowledge. Makes a mockery of the whole programme and the tales of woe about his relationship with his father.

I liked it. As an adult child of an alcoholic myself I felt I could really empathise with callum, I actually feel it's given me a better understanding of myself and my own issues too. I felt myself nodding along, abandonment issues, commitment phobic eye on the back door, keeping things packed away are all traits I can recognise in myself.
I didn't know about his abandoned child.

how can anyone take seriously another person who lives out his life by appearing on 'reality' tv? But it's ok, apparently, because he's pretty.

Just Googled it... There's a Mirror article about a woman saying he's the father of her daughter. No idea where he really is or not.

Granny can you not have some empathy for the guy? His triumphs and traumas have led him to make the choices he has, pretty much like most people in one way or another. I'm not a big fan of reality TV or its stars but I can imagine having that name and the issues that came with it are proably a big factor for him. He said himself he feels exploited by it but what else can he do?

No she is not good at what she does

It is appalling that she she uses her profession one where your clients confidentiality is fundamental to the work, their safety in the knowledge that what is expressed is between themselves and the therapist, that their vulnerability is not used for entertainment, any professional therapist with an ounce of integrity with not expose anyone let alone someone as vulnerable as Daniella Westbrooke

This could be done with actors to show the therapy process (though much of it would be very boring viewing)

If you do want to listen to some transcripts loosely based on a very experienced therapists work (with clients knowledge and their identity kept confidential) then read (or listen) to An Examined Life by Stephen Grosz. It's easy to read and very interesting
