'Enders: Stella and Ben storyline

I am a diehard enders fan but I don't think I can take any more of this Stella/Ben storyline.

What on earth is the point of it?

I hope to god they bring it to a swift conclusion: I don't think I can take her getting any more cruel than she has been already. I think this could make disturbing viewing for children

I turned on earlier just as he was being kicked by those boys and she stood back and smirked

Molesworth · 27/03/2007 20:39

Horrible wasn't it? Did you see what happened immediately after that? Even worse

OP posts:
Bomper · 27/03/2007 20:39

DS (9) was quite disturbed by it, and he said 'She will get in trouble for doing this won't she?'

WelshBoris · 27/03/2007 20:40

No what happened?

Kelly1978 · 27/03/2007 20:41

should children be watching it though? I wouldn't let mine watch.
I actually missed the last bit, but she was working up for him to get a pounding off those kids wasnt she?

Molesworth · 27/03/2007 20:42

Exactly bomper - my kids are teenagers, but I wouldn't let a younger child watch it tbh

After Ben got a kicking, he said to Stella "I thought you said you'd be there for me" and she replied along the lines of "well that just goes to show people don't always mean what they say doesn't it? NOW GET UP"

Really horrible

I think they're scraping the barrel to be honest. I lost interest in it months ago, haven't seen it recently but heard about the exciting new child cruelty storyline

Kelly1978 · 27/03/2007 20:43

that is horrible

Kelly1978 · 27/03/2007 20:43

they are scraping the barrel I agree. May has turned psycho too.

NotAitchNoWaySheIsElsewhere · 27/03/2007 21:01

it's really nasty and also terribly pointless and unconvincing. what's her motivation?

hairymclary · 27/03/2007 21:40

i was going to post about this tonight and then found this thread.

I HATE it. It makes me feel really sick inside. thought maybe I was just being overly sensitive, but glad it isn';t just me.

and aside from that, why can;t anyone just meet someone and be hgappy on eastenders???

expatinscotland · 27/03/2007 21:42

I'm just waiting for May to snuff Rob.

Kelly1978 · 28/03/2007 00:39

could you ever really se phil and stella together tho?

Kelly1978 · 28/03/2007 00:40

expat, I'm waiting for her to hit him, then tehy can explore domestic violence and child abuse

ucm · 28/03/2007 01:07

I am glad that I am not the only one who found this school thing disturbing and the aftermath.

Kelly1978 · 28/03/2007 01:15

It's goong to get worse.

As a mother, I've been in Phil's postion though I hope and believe not so extreme, so I'm finding it all very interesting but very hard and disturbing viewing.

I think that stella does have a motive, her jealously, and I hope that they do deal with it senstively when it comes to light what she has been up to.

hippmummy · 28/03/2007 07:21

I'm just finding the whole thing really unbelievable because there was never a hint of this side to Stella at the beginning - I can't bear it when characters just dramatically change for the sake of a 'good' story.
Also I find Ben's acting too poor to make a storyline like this convincing.

Molesworth · 28/03/2007 09:39

They seem to be hinting at Stella having been abused/rejected in childhood herself. I can't remember finding any enders storyline this disturbing tbh.

Kelly, I'm so sorry that you have experienced a similar situation

OP posts:
KittyLetteMeEatAnEasterEgg · 28/03/2007 09:42

why are you even watchine eastenders????

hippmummy · 28/03/2007 10:48

To give our frazzled brains an easy rest for half an hour when the kids are in bed kitty
I actually managed to stop watching it for 2 years....then it sucked me back in!

pirategirl · 28/03/2007 11:01

Ben's acting is awful, I can't believe he was the best they could find.

Got nothing against the little chap but its a primetime soap, and he only has one expression-gormless.

Yes very irritating to turn a normal, sweet person into a psyscho step mum, I thought when she came on the scene that there would be at leat one beleivable character in EE. I thought she was a lawyer, isn't she too busy to be jealous of an 8 yr old?

pirategirl · 28/03/2007 11:01

lol Hipp mummy, I know who you are!!

wildwoman · 28/03/2007 11:04

I have to disagree, I'm bored so why not. Without wanting to sound like a smug-know-it-all-smarty-pants I said ages ago that Stella was a nutter in waiting but people didn't believe me. Fantastic soap plot predictor.....why oh why am I not rich

expatinscotland · 28/03/2007 11:06

I want Max to get caught.

wildwoman · 28/03/2007 11:06

Oh don't get me started on him.... why Stacey why!
