We could get rid of a few that way.

I have an awful feeling having watched that there will be a long, long storyline about Rita, about Bethany and who jumped / was pushed onto railway tracks (not Bethany) and - groan!

But someone on Facebook commented that Corrie was knocking the socks off other soaps with amazing storylines and acting! So maybe people DO like screechy Gemma. Who knows!

BackieJerkhart · 22/09/2017 13:24

No, emmerdale is beating all the soaps hands down right now and has been for a good while.

LineysRun · 22/09/2017 13:49

Re Adam:

I think he'll have a hold over Eva-Tits, though, because when she gets back into the lurve groove with Aiden, her conniving with Adam over the factory will be a Dark Secret That She Doesn't Want Aiden To Find Out About.

eddiemairswife · 22/09/2017 14:10

Now that the factory has been emptied and has no roof, a lot of residents will have no jobs. I wonder how that problem will be solved. They can't all go to work in Roy's Rolls.

opheliacat · 22/09/2017 14:21

The factory will not have a mark on it by November (c.f. the Rovers burning down!)

BackieJerkhart · 22/09/2017 15:28

Does this mean we'll have to listen to Fizz harp on about being skint again and not having any money for "the girls'" Xmas presents/shoes/whatever? Btw is Hope cured from whatever it was she had?

Eastie77 · 22/09/2017 18:54

Oh god, really couldn't bear yet another Ty and Fizz are broke plot. The last one, when they slipped into penury because Ty created a white Christmas for sick 'ope was ridiculous enough and they are not capable of carrying meaningful storylines. I think she's cured from the cancer(?) she had.

I've said before, Fizz should become a childminder - there are more than enough kids on the Street to fill her books so there's enough business for her and the 24hr invisible childminder

tigerdriverII · 22/09/2017 20:35

Vic/Jim - fantastic!

But none of you have mentioned his car. That's the star of the show.

squaresandsquares · 22/09/2017 20:48

Oh no Leanne

blackbunny · 22/09/2017 22:13

I haven't noticed Vic Reeves' car, what is it
The bloke who played Liz's scammer, what else has he been in?

eddiemairswife · 22/09/2017 22:38

Wasn't Fizz studying massage at college with a view to setting up in business? Yet another storyline that has been forgotten.

BackieJerkhart · 22/09/2017 22:50

Oh yes she was eddie!

tigerdriverII · 22/09/2017 23:00

What do you mean, you didn't notice Vic's car?

It's a 1965 Sunbeam Tiger. Very classy and pretty rare.

scrabbler3 · 22/09/2017 23:01

Scammer is probably the pretty-but-horrid practice manager's husband.

So Michelle and Leanne are bezzies again....

The mayor thing is tedious. The Gina character is tedious. And I normally like both Kirk and Sally.

Housewife2010 · 23/09/2017 00:04

With most of the women (and Kirk) out of work, how will Roy's Rolls and The Rovers survive? Where will they meet if they have no money? The Red Rec or Maxine's Bench?

NightmareMonkey · 23/09/2017 00:13

I wouldn't want Eccles to fall into it though if Ken took him round for a walk.
I miss Deidre

scrabbler3 · 23/09/2017 14:22

I think that Adam and his associates plan to buy the factory, in which case presumably the jobs would be safe. Or more likely Johnny will come up with a way to save things and it'll be business as usual - Jenny clearly doesn't want a SAH spouse!

I'm interested in the comments about Kym Marsh's acting. I think she's pretty good. I reckon she nailed the stillbirth storyline (both she and Simon Gregson had been through it in real life, it must have been tough for them). I also thought her fear last night was realistic.

lizzieoak · 23/09/2017 14:30

I think Kim Marsh is good as well. I don't live in the UK so didn't know her from her pop days and didn't have to watch her going (as Ewan McGregor said of Minnie Driver) to the opening of an envelope. I wonder if that affects people's opinion of her acting?

eddiemairswife · 23/09/2017 14:34

Who was looking after Oliver? Leanne in Bistro, Liz in Rovers, Steve in Bistro(?).... certainly not at home.

Redglitter · 23/09/2017 14:58

I wonder if that affects people's opinion of her acting

No it's just because her acting is so crap

Housewife2010 · 23/09/2017 17:26

She folds her arms and rolls her eyes too much.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 23/09/2017 19:19

She folds her arms and rolls her eyes too much

That is the entire extent of her acting range.

OP posts:
theliverpoolone · 23/09/2017 21:00

I also think Kim Marsh is ok. There's far worse acting on Corrie - Ken, Rosie, Chesney, Izzy, Will, that dreadful Caz when she was in it, to name but a few.

In some parallel universe where scriptwriters actually think about these things, maybe Simon was babysitting Oliver, he must be old enough now?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 23/09/2017 21:11

Just because there are a load of crap actors in the show doesn't make her any better though. It seems a race to the bottom at Corrie.

Rita is also hopelessly out of her depth at anything more taxing than selling a copy of Woman's Weekly.

ellenanora5 · 24/09/2017 19:08

I was disgusted with the way Eva begged Aiden, why on earth would she want him after what he's done, I suppose Maria and Eva will be best friends again by halloween.

I'd love to know how the factory roof disappeared without anyone noticing.

Yep I agree I think the scammer is the husband of Liz colleague (can't remember her name)

Will is truly useless as an actor.
