I don't think that matters tbh. 'only' coming runner up doesn't mean a career in cooking is now off the cards for the other pair!

Other doctors on the series have left and done cooking full time. I don't think it matters either way.

So pleased for Saliha because I thought she delivered on all counts (and she is incredibly cool). Her food is delicious and I hope she does a cook book and a tv series. PLEASE!

I've never watched the celeb MC - might give it a go.

It's great! You find yourself getting oddly attached to some bloke who was once in Eastenders in 1998.

We are disappointed that Saliha won. I liked her but thought the tedious repetition of "fusion" style should have been picked up on. It was also very obvious she had been chosen from the start of the final. It felt like they made some criticisms of the other two contestants' dishes to justify choosing her. How could they not notice how disgusting that kebab looked? I think Alison should have had her place

I've just finished watching the final and thought I'd come and see what everyone else thought if it. I was rooting for Saliha right from the beginning. I think I'd love her food and I found her very sweet, modest and calm. I even found her funny laugh endearing. I think she is amazing cool.

Steves food looked the prettiest, it was like something from a top class restaurant - it looked very tasty. I wasn't so keen on Giovanna's but it was still V. impressive.

Couldn't agree more Davros. I thought it was a bit off that they started going on about how brilliant she was and how much she'd grown through the competition - the same could definitely be said for Steve and Giovanna but they didn't say anything like that to them. I do think she's a talented chef, but it did seem like they were teeing her up as the winner for the last few weeks and it was so predictable.
Really hope Steve et al go on to have successful careers in the kitchen they really deserve to do well.

Oh I'm thrilled for Saliha.

Good for her, a junior doc with a young baby, and a brilliant cook. I thought she was really sweet and humble about her achievement.

Not winning Masterchef doesn't mean that's their cooking career is over, this is just the beginning. I'm gutted that Giovanna didn't win but I'm assuming tonight's final was going on their performance in the particular challenge!

When is MC Professionals on? I'll skip the celeb edition as I dislike shows like that.

Never watched this before but DD and I caught a bit of it tonight. Firstly we wondered if earlier in the show someone had cooked blackbird because couldn't understand the relevance otherwise. Secondly Greg said 'Mmmm duck and fruit. A classic combination, as old as time' . Now I'm prepared to be told I'm wrong but I don't think that's true.

I'm reconciled to Saliha winning by the fact that it's majorly impressive to do all that on top of being a junior doctor. And because it'll seriously annoy the Mail and its more challenged readers.

I think she absolutely deserved to win. He food was so different, and obviously beautiful and delicious

I also thought she came over really well - an incredibly hard-working person

This series was one of the best, IMO. The standard in the finally really high and hard to judge.

I'm just glad it wasn't that smug smig Steve. Over the comp he got less complex or fewer tasks than the other, then raved about.
