I too have thoroughly enjoyed this thread. This and watching Broadchurch has been a welcome distraction as I'm having a shitty time at mo.

I think 'moral and legal duty' is most likely to be addressed to Katie, Ian, vicar or Beth's boss due to their jobs. I don't think Beth as I don't think she would hold back potential evidence.

Katie might if it implicates or she is worried it would implicate her dad.

Ian would if it possibly implicates him or even Leo actually

Vicar has made mistakes like that before iirc

Beth's boss seems conflicted about this kinda thing maybe she knows a victim of this rapist but it's their partner but MO similar?

I have an idea. The cottage next to the mansion is used for recording and filming pornography - Trish or teens who have been drugged and groomed and tricked into going to the cottage.

Trish was being raped by X, the pornography filmers saw what was going on and filmed it, and took Trish and X back to the cottage. Not Rapist X is covering for the pornographers, and the pornographers are covering for x.

She said she had had a shower after getting home and reporting the rape, so walking home after the party wouldn't have accounted for her dirty feet.

I do wonder if there hasn't been a big mistake about the location, and it is different running water, with a light.

One of the most emotional scenes was Trish lying down on the ground near the waterfall and remembering the rape. It would be odd if it turned out that wasn't where it happened after all.
I'm back to thinking it's either the taxi driver or Ian. They both lied about their alibis.
I would bet a fiver that it isn't : Mark Latimer; the vicar; Tom Miller; Ed; Jim; Hardy.

Twine boy revealed he had told a big lie about his alibi at the end of last weeks's episode. I think that is who they are referring to in the trailer. Not sure who my fiver is on but I would say it isn't Mark, Ed, Rory the vicar or Hardy. That leaves twine boy, taxi driver, Jim and I'm very suspicious about the ex-husband. but still have no clue really

There are so many loose ends to tie up, it's going to have to crack on at a fair pace to fit it all in.

Is there a missing cricket bat btw, or did I dream that up?

My money is still on Taxi Driver for the rapist; with Rope Boy some how caught up in filming it/running a porn business.
Slightly disappointed but also relieved (as now don't have to make a decision) that Vue are not broadcasting BC locally to me.

I had a bad dream last night that it was Monday and I suddenly realised it was 9.30 and I was too late to watch it live, but too early to watch it on catch up 😱😰

I am just going through this thread having binge watched Broadchurch this weekend. One quick question - apologies if this has already been mentioned. Why didn't Hardy arrest the boys who had the pictures of his daughter with disseminating child porn?

Because he couldn't prove it was them. He knew, but had no evidence. So he just threatened to cut off their tiny little cocks, instead :) :)
