Evening ladies, started watching late Hmm
So great to watch the 1st episode again. Still loved "I need a medic...." and the reference to Molly. Roll on next week

icemist · 05/09/2017 07:10

Aww so close but OG was one of runners-up in the TV Choice awards last night. Top 4 though is amazing and first time been finalists too.

Tommieo · 05/09/2017 08:33

Yes they 'done good' and I'm sure they know to us they are the best.

Perhaps with the longer programme this time more viewers will find out about it and it may get more publicity.

icemist · 05/09/2017 09:12

Just needed more people to vote repeatedly Grin

Ilovelblue · 05/09/2017 11:26

Which category was that for ice?

icemist · 05/09/2017 11:56

I mean in that there were 3 runners-up.

Tommieo · 06/09/2017 11:09

Morning everyone
Just seen the 1000th post from Aldridge army amazing
The video clip is one of my favourites and even has 'the walk' on. Good to tell he has been a catwalk model in the past. But as one of the ff stories said 'how can a walk be sexy' so at least it's not only me who noticed !!
Hope all of you with littlies aren't too upset at them starting school

Evening all! (echoes of Dixon of Dock Green)

Just popping in after a long week to check that all those available and willing are ready for Sunday night 9pm episode 2. I am just the teeniest bit excited as it's my favourite of series 2. Have I mentioned that before? Can't think what it is that grabs my interest every time.

It still seems strange that Strictly is about to swing into action and there's no OG starting. I am feeling nostalgic. I'm out on Saturday evening or I would ask if anyone fancied a little SCD launch show chat like last year. I know this isn't a SCD thread but the main one is far too busy and sometimes a bit serious. I think we appreciate the... ahem... finer points of SCD as well as the more humorous ones.

Who are you going to put your bets on this year ilove?

Ilovelblue · 09/09/2017 00:15

Very late today. My laptop was doing some updates - wish it had said how long they would take!

Yes Rhu I'll be reporting for duty on Sunday night. My very favourite scene in the next episode was when Elvis and his cohorts appear out of the helicopter and CJ realises who has come to perform the rescue. "The boys are back in town" is what I always think.

No idea yet about our bets for Strictly. I need to talk to my friend - we usually put the bets on after about 3 weeks. We do £5 each on 4 contestants as a rule. We bagged £60 last year and it paid for a lunch out in Manchester when we went for the sales after Christmas.

The weather here has been awful this week. We had over an inch of rain on Tuesday and today there have been monsoon-like showers but also some sunny spells in between times. Presume summer has now disappeared. At least we can cope with rain: my heart goes out to those poor souls in the Caribbean islands. Looks as if it's going to hit Florida imminently too.

On that note, I think it's time I put the light out. Night night.

pixieg1rl · 09/09/2017 19:19

I'm glad I'm watching the introduction to who everyone on Strictly is, apart from about 2 of them I'm clueless.

kazzaD66 · 09/09/2017 21:14

There's more older than younger celebs this year, which I think is good. Apparently, five are in their fifties and four in their forties and only about three in their twenties. Makes a change from the usual one or two token oldies. Was it the colour control on my tv, or was everyone apart from Jonny Peacock particularly double dipped tonight? Craig and Tess were even more orange than Claudia Grin

Ilovelblue · 09/09/2017 21:46

I've been out with my ex-colleagues to mark somebody else leaving. It was great to see them and catch up on the gossip (I am certain now I left at the right time) but boy, going out into town on a Saturday night is so not me. Don't think it ever was really but I felt so old and my dress was at least a foot longer than most of the young girls in the place. That was another thing - it was one of these "in places" to go but I kept wondering if I would have been better off at home watching Strictly! It was so noisy as well and the food wasn't the best!

pixie might you do the watchalong with us tomorrow?

Going to catch up on who's who and who's paired with who now in Strictly. I know the two Holby celebs, Ruth Langsford, Debbie McGee and the chef (in fact, I've eaten in his restaurant quite a few times - and the last time I was with ice and Rich) but after that I struggle a bit.

icemist · 09/09/2017 23:13

Loved strictly tonight. Knew all the celebs which really helped. Have a few wecare rooting for already. Can't wait to see them dance in 2 weeks.

I'd forgotten ilove it was his restaurant we ate at (was gorgeous)

All set for watch-along tomorrow, hoping to actually watch at 9 this week.

Youngest is enjoying school, only done half days so far and we've had tears, although a nice cuppa made it all ok Wink

And Dancing On Ice is back - loved that before!!!

Ilovelblue · 09/09/2017 23:20

All we need now is for the OG dates to be released and we're all set for autumn viewing!

Rhubarb01 · 10/09/2017 18:10

Afternoon!

It's been a busy week and a very full weekend of mostly sporting pursuits (not me, of course) but I have finally made it home and will be in place at 9pm.

Ditto the favourite scene, ilove. I also love the way you can see the effect of the brief on Elvis's face. This was definitely the best episode of the series. I hope there's a bit more like this in the next series.

OK, over and out. Rendez-vous at 21:00 hours!

Ilovelblue · 10/09/2017 20:59

Are we ready? Are we skipping the previous week's roundup?

Rhubarb01 · 10/09/2017 21:00

Gasp Gasp Made it. I've got the recap!
Start now!

Rhubarb01 · 10/09/2017 21:01

Ok here comes CJ and the gang - sounds like a pop band

Rhubarb01 · 10/09/2017 21:02

No we haven't - CJ!

Ilovelblue · 10/09/2017 21:02

Georgie disappears into the sunset with the evil terrorists. Do you think she did her own stunts?

Rhubarb01 · 10/09/2017 21:03

Not sure ilove - tell you what I've never noticed that hen before!

Ilovelblue · 10/09/2017 21:03

Poor Mansfield. I love how he talks to CJ.

Rhubarb01 · 10/09/2017 21:04

CJ sounds a bit flustered. Where is Molly when you need her.

Rhubarb01 · 10/09/2017 21:04

Wonder how that lad learned such good English.

Ilovelblue · 10/09/2017 21:04

Some of this I can hardly bear to watch. In real life, they wouldn't hold back on a woman hostage.
