What pissed me off with Harriet and Cain was they made it so obvious last week (see I said it last Thursday) but it was done in exactly the same way as Cain and Moira got together i.e. she (both she's) wasn't interested, but he just kissed them anyway.
Perpetuating the myth that men don't need consent 'cos its what women want. Sad

JaneJeffer · 29/03/2017 13:06

Cain did look hot though how could she resistWink

bonfireheart · 29/03/2017 13:59

Cain needs a good wash.

JaneJeffer · 29/03/2017 15:41

I volunteerGrin

knorrig · 29/03/2017 19:44

Aah, I wasn't expecting that at the end!

Jojoanna · 29/03/2017 19:56

What? What happened at the end ? Need to catch up

TheLegendOfBeans · 29/03/2017 20:16

Another good plot twist Emmerdale, good work x

JaneJeffer · 29/03/2017 21:57

Wasn't expecting that. I though she had brittle bones or something.

I hope Arthur isn't going to think he's to blame when Ashley dies. He such a good little actor.

southeastdweller · 29/03/2017 22:00

Loving Faith. Really good actress playing the role who looks like she could credibly be the mother of Chas and Cain.

No spoilers but it's going to be a very emotional week, next week.

Smidge001 · 29/03/2017 22:32

I thought the scenes between Chas and her mum were excellently done. Really, really good. Made me believe both of them - Chas for why she couldn't give her mum a chance and Faith for being truly sorry. Her shouting that she was sorry over and over really seemed true - yet if I'd read that in the script I'd have said no way!! So well done actresses. Grin

Must say though (purely on physical shapes, not dismissing the emotional side to it) that as a small breasted woman, I can't possibly believe that I could tell from hugging another fully clothed person whether they had breasts or not. Especially given she was wearing a padded bra.

redshoeblueshoe · 30/03/2017 09:26

I thought the ending was a pathetic attempt to get more publicity. I bet the production team are hoping for tons of complaints Sad

knorrig · 30/03/2017 11:47

Jojoanna - Faith and Chas had a big chat through all their issues and then were about to make up as Chas said she didn't want to fight anymore but then Faith recoiled as Chas went to hug her - she used the excuse of them not being 'huggers' but Chas took it personally and said how she hadn't changed etc.
Then the final scene shows Faith undressing to reveal 2 mastectomy scars.

Yes, that would be very harsh for Arthur to think it was him - he is a great actors, really makes me laugh!

southeastdweller · 30/03/2017 13:00

Why was it a pathetic attempt to gain publicity? Confused It's not like it was gratuitous to the storyline.

knorrig · 30/03/2017 13:11

I didn't see it as that either.

redshoeblueshoe · 30/03/2017 17:15

Because there will be lots of complaints about it being shown before the watershed. Then the Regulator will have to make a decision about it, so it will be all across the media.
When they could have had the same impact if she'd done the same thing, but so only Chas could see, and we saw Chas's reaction.

bonfireheart · 30/03/2017 19:59

Wasn't that like in EE when Carol showed someone her mastectomy scars?

redshoeblueshoe · 30/03/2017 20:14

I don't watch EE so I can't comment, but my issue wasn't that they showed them, it was that it was at 7.30. They could have easily done a show post-watershed.

TheLegendOfBeans · 30/03/2017 20:33

I found that very very hard to watch, his panic and the desperation to get the mask off - och, it was properly upsetting.

redshoeblueshoe · 30/03/2017 21:11

I found it desperately sad and totally realistic. Very well done tonight.

Jojoanna · 30/03/2017 21:44

Thanks knorrig

Smidge001 · 31/03/2017 08:25

I don't understand why showing mastectomy scars should be kept until after the watershed?? Isn't the watershed was for sexual scenes and bad language, not health issues Hmm
Can't see why it will be all over the media for anything other than a good storyline to raise awareness of the emotional issues linked to health problems.

JaneJeffer · 31/03/2017 12:29

I can't see anyone having a problem with it and if it does raise awareness in the media then that's a good thing.

It's lovely to see Bob being involved in some storylines. He's wasted just handing out coffee. I'd love him back serving in the Woolpack but I suppose he's too busy looking after the invisible twins...

Next week will be so sad.

deloresclaiborne · 31/03/2017 18:27

i hope that new girl nell isnt going to be a regular, her whispering voice gets right on my nerves

BigFatHairyOrangutan · 31/03/2017 19:35

What on earth was Moira doing ironing a teatowel! Confused

Hasn't she got enough to do with running a farm, a meat packing business and running the house?Hmm

ellenanora5 · 31/03/2017 21:33

I think Nell is supposed to remind us of Holly, her voice was very irritating as well.

I think next week will be heartbreaking, and I think Laurel will do some fantastic acting, unfortunately she never gets recognised for it, but I've said it hundreds of times, when she gets a decent storyline she is Oscar winning.

I'm warming to Faith
