Here's a new thread - hope no one else was going to start it - old thread has just about run out!

She was wired to the moon Grin

I think I'm a celeb has jumped the shark. I found it boring this year we've all seen the trials a hundred times before, just putting more bugs and whatnot in hasn't made the show any better.
I thought Ant and Dec were a bit too scripted, I remember when they could make the crew roar with laughter.
Scarlett winning was so predictable too.

Gracey1231 · 05/12/2016 14:28

too many mealworms

woodhill · 05/12/2016 15:35

I'd like to see Ant and Dec do some trials for a change.

BeckerLleytonNever · 05/12/2016 16:30

surprise surprise not.

notice how KLarry wa smiles away from martin and said hed requested that or something? prick.

joels voice is really annoying but would have preferred him out of a bad bunch to win.

anyway, been lovely chatting to you sall, see you next time.

EvansOvalPies · 05/12/2016 20:22

The best trial of this series was the morse code one, where Adam was leaping around like a mad thing and Joel was trying to transmit to Jordan and someone else (Wayne)? I really did cry with laughter at that. But it was the only time - the rest of it was SO very boring. I usually love this and watch hardly any reality progs (I had absolutely no idea who Scarlett was, or Joel, or Adam, or Wayne, or Lisa). And now I hate Larry Lamb.

I really am not going to even bother watching next year. It's run it's course for me.

228agreenend · 05/12/2016 21:17

There were definitely too much tipping critters over celebrity heads this time. The windmill one looked terrifying though.

It was a definantly a weird camp this year, with everyone expecting to dislike Hardcore Carol, but she turned out okay, and everyone originally liking National Treasure Larry, but he ended up disliked. There was definantly not enough airtime for Lovely Lisa and ola, and too much bitching/bullying of Martin.

I only used to watch the first five minutes of extra camp, when Ant and Dec joined them. To be fair, the Geordie man wasn't too bad and hosted quite well.

When's th coming out show?

FlowerFairiee · 06/12/2016 01:34

The whole critters thing disgusts me and I can't watch it for that reason. It's not only unimaginably cruel for the creatures to have to suffer/die for sick entertainment value, but horrible for the celebs who partake in the experience. I personally would refuse to do it, but if you agree to appear in the show, it is probably expected you will eat/have poured over you, live insects.

TobleroneBoo · 06/12/2016 07:54

Coming out show is tomorrow night I think

And Wayne was horrible too.

amispartacus · 06/12/2016 18:06

More challenges with animals that move - like goats with numbers on. And emus with numbers. Forget fears. Just make it really really really hard.

It did get very samey.

woodhill · 06/12/2016 18:09

Or some questions that challenge their intellect rather than stupid surveys at the kiosk.

amispartacus · 06/12/2016 18:12

Proper team challenges would be good - where they had to work together, communicate, listen etc.

A bit like in Army leadership selection. Then win stars for food. Make them starve. Make the personalities show through.

amispartacus · 06/12/2016 18:20

Or...

A Crystal Maze lock in. If you get locked in, no food for you tonight.

amispartacus · 06/12/2016 18:21

And you can buy them out for a meal Grin

EvansOvalPies · 06/12/2016 18:30

With reference to the cruelty aspect (for the animals) - I do get really quite cross when the reptiles and rodents are involved. One of the earlier challenges Martin had to do involved a large reptile whipping it's tail around. Part of the game is that the presenters and participants guffaw at the fact that the person undertaking the trial manages to survive the reptile. The reason that poor reptile or rodent (or the crabs) get aggressive and hostile is because they're annoyed and feel threatened. Why would you do that to a creature, unnecessarily? That part of the whole programme makes me cross. I really hope there are no more now.

amispartacus · 06/12/2016 18:42

I liked that. It needed team work, co-operation and a degree of intelligence. Anything that gets people frustrated with each other - yet they have to work together - is good TV. You don't need animals and eating horrible stuff. You just need a lot of people trying to be Chiefs when you need Chiefs and Indians.

I also laughed when they had to do the number challenge with the goats and the goats were 'kidding' around

EvansOvalPies · 06/12/2016 18:51

amisparticus - I liked the goat challenge too! No goats were harmed, they were all happily hopping around, leaping over their little fences. It was very funny. None of them felt threatened. I prefer the dingo dollar challenges to the bug/eating trials.

amispartacus · 06/12/2016 18:55

It was very funny

Now if it had been against the clock and they had to win stars for camp, that would have been much more interesting Grin

You have control over your fears when it comes to critters. You've got no control over goats.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 06/12/2016 21:33

Me too. I can't stand the eating or bug trials. I like the challenges much better.

Found it odd how so little reference was made to Lisa? what was that all about, is there some hidden agenda I didn't spot? Carol was quite a surprise I admit. Mostly she was lovely and looks so much better without the tight clothes and tons of slap. Wish she and her friend would give up on the silly nylon hair extensions, but I suppose it's a look she goes for.

Agree the programme's jumped the shark and Ant and Dec were stilted scripted this year. The after show was an absolute travesty.

I didn't particularly mind Scarlett winning, but as I said days ago it did feel very much like one long live audition for a shoe-in ITV show coming to a screen near you.

Powergower · 06/12/2016 22:03

First series I've ever felt sorry for the insects. Ant and dec were pleased as punch to yell '10,000 mealworms' every few minutes but no one was bothered. The celebs didn't give a shit. I stopped watching midway and won't watch the next series. The shots of ant and dec watching the trials was weird. Almost like they realised how shit this series was and were acting it out. I suppose there's nothing to react to if the celebs are doing every trial without any squirming.

EvansOvalPies · 07/12/2016 12:35

Agree with you there, too. Normally I can take or leave CV, and she was annoying at the meeting party, constantly saying 'I'm hardcore'. But actually in the jungle, once her botox had worn off and she was wearing comfy clothing, she really did seem to be a very nice person indeed. She looks much better without all the slap. And she did meet every challenge head on - I like her now, whereas I was a bit 'Meh' before. And she stood up for Martin, didn't seem to condone the nastiness that was directed towards him. She's come out of this very well indeed, am surprised she was voted off so soon, just goes to show that the voting is probably rigged to a degree.

Roussette · 07/12/2016 13:18

I liked the way CV seemed to mother everyone, not in an OTT way, but was trying to make sure everyone was doing OK. I thought she would be more 'me me me' but she seemed very caring.

I've always been a fan of Lisa too, I wished she could've stayed until the end.
