Anyone notice one of the bear cubs was missing when they reached the forest?

SoleBizzz · 13/11/2016 21:01

The flamingos marching made me laugh as well! I love the bit at the end that shows you how they film some of it. The eagles are amazing

SpeckledyBanana · 13/11/2016 21:06

The flamingos were stupendous. Hope I can find it on catch-up tomorrow to show that bit to DC.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 13/11/2016 21:09

I love this series it's amazing

ds was traumatised over the poor little iguana he started crying and asked me how I would like to be chased by snakes when I was just walking down the street Confused he used to absolutely love wildlife programmes now he finds them to sad to watch Sad

Sir David Attenborough was very handsome when he was younger and still is I love him Smile

Soubriquet · 13/11/2016 21:20

Wildlife programs won't be the same when he passes

What age do you think this is ok for?

I grew up watching David; my mum was a massive nature lover and v no nonsense and practical. I learnt that things eat other things early, and it fostered a strong sense of value about the natural world in me. We lived in the country for a while, lots of animals etc. I'm a bit of a natural history spod.

My son loves animals too. He is 4 I a month.

He's been scared by some films etc - I know of children watching Star Wars at his age; we've not even contemplated it. He managed tinker bell!

However, he really wanted to watch planet earth 2, 1. We watched together, I explained it was animals eating one another. He loves lions, elephants and dinosaurs. He's very kind and sensitive to others. He loved it. Was a bit distracted during penguin bit so didn't really see that.

He asked to watch it this morning - DH was a bit Shockas he walked in at the monitor lizard bit. We've discussed and now I'm doubting myself. We fast forwarded a bit and ds is now grumpily watching Andy's Dinosaur Adventure.

I found some things in planet earth 1 tough (chimps eating monkey).

Thoughts?!

Going to have to frantically search for DA 'safe' films!

Best show on the box. The goats were fabulous and the prancing Flamingoes!Grin

Soubriquet · 14/11/2016 08:39

I think this is a bit old for a 4 year old tbh

romanrainsalot · 14/11/2016 11:14

Loved this last night. DS (6) and I enjoyed watching it (let him stay up to watch it). The bears were funny - we were doing impressions of them this morning which gave us a good laugh.

Those Ibex were awesome - the world's best free runners.

Anyone seen the Jungle episode? What scary/sad bits are there? My dc liked most of the Islands but got very upset with the noddy chick going to starve and then hurt penguins and ds was scared for the iguana but luckily I knew it would escape. So I only showed them the grizzly bears and bobcat from last week.

Cocolepew · 22/11/2016 20:59

There was none that I remember.
A bird had sex and a jaguar stalked and killed its prey.
I pretty sure it's child friendly waits to be reminded of some hideous tragedy

Soubriquet · 22/11/2016 21:08

No it was a tame episode this week

CleanHankie · 23/11/2016 18:15

Planet Earth 1 and Blue Planet (have I got that right?) are DD2's infant school go-to dvd for wet break/end of term so I use that as an age guide.

cushioncovers · 27/11/2016 22:15
