New thread as the last one is getting very full.

I hope Ed stays - his timing is very good. Daisy seems nice, but a bit boring, although Daisy Daisy is very nice for a Viennese.

it is ok, google and told me, you mean Judge Rinder when you call him Rob?

SoupDragon · 14/11/2016 11:45

I thought it looked like the orchestra had come dressed in bad bridesmaid dresses.

emotionsecho · 14/11/2016 11:45

'Judge' Rob Rinder and his professional dance partner Oksana.

QueenMortificado · 14/11/2016 11:46

Emotion completely agree with you about Oksana and Katya. They have both really tried to teach their partners to dance and choregraphed to their strengths.

It has been really refreshing having them on board, maybe part of it is them being new and being enthusiastic in a way that some of the older pros maybe aren't. Ie Natalie choreographing routines that centre around her instead of Greg.

NoahVale · 14/11/2016 11:46

I agree the Hallelujah was disappointing that it wasnt sung and the dresses were ridiculous

emotionsecho · 14/11/2016 11:47

His name is Rob and he isn't a real life Judge just poetic licence for his ITV show.

emotionsecho · 14/11/2016 11:51

Agree Queen, I hope some of the more established pros are taking note.

TawnyPippit · 14/11/2016 12:00

Just popping in to say we thought Greg was very lucky to get HeadJudgeLen's vote. The two things Len hates most of all are "Faffing" and "Capes". Extended faffing with a cape is just asking for trouble!

AlaskanSnow · 14/11/2016 12:17

...and it was only half a cape at that!

eddiemairswife · 14/11/2016 12:32

I can't take to Greg. He looks too much like Gary Windass from Coronation Street.

Clawdy · 14/11/2016 12:42

Rob Rinder is a practising criminal law barrister though.

ElspethFlashman · 14/11/2016 12:46

I'm not sure how much he does outside the TV show?

I mean I don't think he's attached to any chambers anymore.

JennyHolzersGhost · 14/11/2016 14:24

He's on the books at 2 Hare Court though I don't know if they're taking diary bookings for him at the mo.

SerendipityPhenomenon · 14/11/2016 16:03

But isn't faffing with the cape a recognised part of a Paso? I don't think Len would object to that in itself.

I would put Natalie and Greg into the group of couples where the sleb is genuinely trying to learn and there is a good relationship between the sleb and the professional.

SoupDragon · 14/11/2016 16:30

I thought that about cape faffing and the Paso but I wasn't suRe.

emotionsecho · 14/11/2016 16:51

Yes Rob Rinder is a criminal barrister which they are always careful to say at the start of his ITV programme but he is most definitely not a proper Judge.

eddie Gary Windass - yes! I kept wondering who it was he reminded me of but I haven't seen Coronation Street for years so didn't make the connection.

mumonahottinroof · 14/11/2016 17:06

How much training has Ore had? I notice Greg's partner pointedly omitted his name from a tweet about beginners who were doing their best.

I think Ed will win, it is the year of the mob awarding crowd-pleasers rather than someone with any talent or knowledge. Which isn't to say I don't like Ed a lot, and since this is SCD not the US election, I can't bring myself to be exercised (though I like Claudia ...)

My hope is emboldened by his victory, Ed will take over the Labour party and our country will have an opposition again.

MoonriseKingdom · 14/11/2016 17:18

Mumonahottinroof you give me hope. I was wondering how Labour could get rid of Corbyn. Just need to find Ed a safe seat (although lack of being an MP never stopped Farage from being UKIP leader). Grin

mumonahottinroof · 14/11/2016 17:25

Ed will find a safe seat

Honestly, Trump has shown it's obligatory to be a reality-show winner to stand a chance.

ilovesooty · 14/11/2016 17:43

I doubt if Ed will stand as an MP again.

FantasticButtocks · 14/11/2016 17:47

Haven't found Greg at all interesting, but I do agree he deserved to win the dance-off. And yes, he does look like Gary Windass!

Those dresses! Shock They were like elaborate loo roll holders that Hyacinth Bouquet might have, the way they looked while sitting, really gawdy and dreadful. I have never heard of the orchestra and I was so open mouthed at the dresses I didn't notice the microphone malfunction.

Love rob and oksana, very sweet. Craig seems to actually dislike him though which is a shame.

Ed made me laugh and I watched his dance twice, however, I think it would be a travesty if he was in the final...

I think that hollyoaks bloke is going to win (Danny?)

I like Natalie but I find her personal ambition dominates; it is always on display and rather unedifying...

FantasticButtocks · 14/11/2016 17:54

Never seen/heard of Andre Rieu (sp?) before, and don't care if I never do again. I thought those dresses the poor women had to wear were horrific Grin Quite.

emotionsecho · 14/11/2016 17:56

Fantastic Loo roll holder dresses is a perfect descriptionGrin. People who had those things also always had a sort of fluffy toilet lid cover and matching pedestal mat.

I think the final will be Danny, Claudia and either Ore or Louise - there will be at least one Clifton in it but I think the Producers were hoping for all three to be there at the start.

Bejazzled · 14/11/2016 18:00

The v waltz to Hallelujah was absolutely beautiful, although of course the ridiculous shiny dresses distracted from the beauty.

Loved Danny's AT, but Louise is just competent but utterly lacking any sparkle for me. Daisy didn't do as well as Nugget's dad in the dance off, she is a lovely person but it was the right call. I'm glad Ed got through, I know he's not as good as the others but he is obviously trying to learn properly and not just be the comedy stooge.

raisedbyguineapigs · 14/11/2016 18:01

I was actually saying to my DH on Saturday that I thought Ed would win a seat if TM called a snap election or if he stood in a by election following the boundary changes labour purge ! Funny how times change, eh?
