I've seen an advert that says it returns in November, anyone know what date?

Really looking forward to its return! Anyone else?

It's currently on the ITV Hub, I'm guessing you have Sky, so it can be downloaded from there. I think they are rerunning it on Encore

I don't get what happened at the end - was that a flashback rather than happening after the dinner party with the French lecturer? There didn't appear to be anyone wise there.

Very disappointed that JJ wasn't in this episode!

Was Jennifer Esposito his sister in the previous series or is she a replacement actress? I didn't realise he had a Latino background Confused

Yes she was his sister. I don't think they have cast her as being "from a Latino background" necessarily....

Oh. It was rubbish!

It's too different. None of the main characters interacted with each except Noah and Helen briefly.

Worst of all, no JJ!!! Terrible Wink

I really enjoyed it! I think it needs to be different in order to carry on, hopefully, being a good, progressive story. I feel so sorry for Noah, yes he devastated his wife and family but he then went to prison for their sakes and he now just seems broken, lonely and a shadow of his former self and he obviously still loves Alison. There's clearly a story from his childhood involving his father and sister too that has had an effect on him which is a new and interesting intrigue. I don't fancy Dominic West at all btw, I just admire his acting ability Wink

I thought it was very good
But Every, I am cinfused at your comment "couldn't he have got away from him"? In prison?!

lorelei, Helen's family are very rich and we'll connected and she thought she could get his sentence shortened and he said not to bother so I suppose he could have tried to get away if the guard was dodgy.

EverySongbirdSays · 22/11/2016 18:19

Yeah that is basically what I meant by "escaped"

One of the problems in Helen and Noah's marriage was that they were constantly in debt to her rich, well connected father

If he was being intimidated by a guard, they could have quite easily accessed "the right people" to get him support

Report
Lorelei76 · 22/11/2016 19:05

Oh but could they? Firstly that isn't guaranteed to work
Secondly the detective made a point of saying they were trying to make examples of such cases so commuting of the sentence struck me as less likely
Thirdly, and this is the first thing that occurred to me, the guard may have been a friend of Scotty's.

Also anyone in power could be angry about the book, he's in jail in that area so maybe the governor won't care that Noah Salloway is getting....whatever it is he got.

Remember they tried to argue for his case to be heard in another county too and I think there was a good reason but they were turned down.

EverySongbirdSays · 22/11/2016 19:40

They could certainly try.

But yes, excellent point is he linked to Scotty, Cole or even Ma Lockhart ?

At the end of series 2 didn't it show Alison in the bushes, I think she pushed scotty in front of the car. So wasn't it that Noah took the blame for Alison not Helen? It was so long ago not sure if I remember it correctly.

NickNacks · 22/11/2016 21:59

Well Helen was driving the car that got him...

So really it's both of them then?!

Yes. Helen is directly responsible, but Alison is indirectly responsible also. I think Helen was drunk?

I think both women think he went down for THEM which is a bit odd that neither seems overly grateful.

Just finished watching the first episode, bizarre ending, did he stab himself? he was washing up a knife. Can't wait for the next episode
