ThisValenTime · 11/02/2007 21:13

Stan Collymore was accused of hitting Ulrika Johnson and Jeffrey Archer has been to prison so they both have experience of being the accused.

BettySpaghetti · 11/02/2007 21:19

I watched the first 5 mins and decided it was abit heavy going for several nights (is it 4?) viewing.

I can imagine it would be very interesting and raise a lot of issues about the legal system, rape cases etc but I think its something you would need to be in the mood to watch.

funnypeculiar · 11/02/2007 21:20

Trying to whilst mn-ing. Interesting idea...

ThisValenTime · 11/02/2007 21:21

Apparently Megaman (from So Solid Crew)has lots of experience (according to papers) of being the accused. He gets very heated in a clip i saw....

a real mixed bunch of jurors.

Carmenere · 11/02/2007 21:23

The actress is good.

HumphreysCorner · 11/02/2007 21:24

Patsy Palmer is looking all emotional.

Carmenere · 11/02/2007 21:24

Makes very uncomfortable watching

funnypeculiar · 11/02/2007 21:25

The juror's faces listenting to the woamn giving evidence are really interesting - the women all look really worried & involved - the men so much less so.

Don't know what to think really. Considering she is just acting it is very distressing.

southeastastra · 11/02/2007 21:28

i was listening to a radio review of this, jeffrey archer on the jury, it's bizarre.

mysonsmummy · 11/02/2007 22:32

jeez .. stan collymore got a real chip on his shoulder. wish hed shut he up!!

NadineBaggott · 11/02/2007 22:38

putting aside the life stories of the jurors and just going on the evidence so far, I think, contrary to the prosecution that the tape was damaging.

If you've been raped and your mate is asking you questions about it would you really say 'he put his arm across my chest' she answered questions almost the same as in the witness box. You just wouldn't talk to your best mate like that if you'd been raped - I don't think anyway!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 12/02/2007 14:59

I haven't seen this proramme, but it seems a bit much having Stan Collymore (accused of beating up Ulrika Johnson) Jeffrey Archer (Convicted felon) and Sara Payne (mother of murdered child) all together in a fake rape trial for TV.

What the hell is that all about? I'm not sure I could ever face doing something like that if my child had been murdered by a paedophile. What is the benefit? Makes me a bit uneasy, actually. Not much entertainment factor.

Tortington · 12/02/2007 15:01

i cant get over how they are missing the simplicity.

she said no.

LIZS · 12/02/2007 15:05

I missed the beginning. What is the set up ?To what extent are the "witnesses" scripted or improvising ?

Tortington · 12/02/2007 15:25

seems pretty realistic. with back room solicitor chats and stuff. i wondered how they did it miself

NadineBaggott · 12/02/2007 15:28

yes I think it gives a good insight to what goes on in court, what a responsibility it is to be on a jury and the trauma of giving evidence. It's amazing how actual personalities come into play.

Stan Collymore is doing my head in!

merlotmama · 12/02/2007 23:09

Stan Collymore is just a big bully...if anything he was worse tonight. He seems to have no conception of how much he is annoying the others. This is obviously just normal behaviour for him. I predict a showdown as the other jurors' tolerance wears thin.

Fascinating prog. I never watch reality TV but this is gripping stuff.

hunkermunker · 12/02/2007 23:57

Oh the irony of Stan "Ulrika-beater" Collymore having a go at Jeffrey Archer.

And how thick is he - of COURSE people's statements are evidence. The twat!

Do all female lawyers have to have five children these days too?

HumphreysCorner · 13/02/2007 10:24

Watched it again last night and have really got into it now. Stan Collymore is up his own backside thought-tosser!

Still think the tape recording is false. Due to the reputation of footballers it is often unwise to go to their hotel rooms for 'food and drink' as that is not what is always on offer.

Will be watching it with interest again tonight. Think the best bit is the Barrister's banter-it's a hoot especially when they were saying that Stan wanted her phone number.
