cinnamongreyhound · 19/12/2016 13:36

redshoeblueshoe · 19/12/2016 15:19

Well I think we should post every day.
Today I think Al with suggest to Jimmi that they go the pub after work.
Gobby will be holding a vigil at the hospital, and Mrs Tembe will be organising a carol service.
Wine Wine Wine

blamethecat · 19/12/2016 21:15

Can anyone think what alternative name they use for Facebook? We were having a discussion about it during eastenders and I couldn't remember Grin (ds call eastenders 'Daddies doctors' !)

toldmywraath · 24/12/2016 21:49

blame I know they had something called Mates Reconnected once in a parody of Friends Reunited.

toldmywraath · 24/12/2016 21:50

Daddies Doctors! Good one mini blame.Grin

toldmywraath · 24/12/2016 21:53

I've just caught up with the final one before Christmas. The most awful/dramatic one I can remember is when the receptionist Vivienne March was raped. I kept thinking about it all over the Christmas break.Sad

toldmywraath · 30/12/2016 11:56

Did anyone watch Inside No 9? There was a reference to Doctors (saying how it is "shot in one go in one day" & is basically really rather rubbish because of that) Grin

This particular episode of Inside No 9 wasn't very good, I think they're a bit hit & miss.

redshoeblueshoe · 30/12/2016 20:08

I've just checked Doctors isn't back until the 23rd Shock

toldmywraath · 31/12/2016 13:17

The 23rd! Oh well I suppose I can watch Father Brown & the inauguration of the Donald. Smile

AnneEyhtMeyer · 31/12/2016 16:33

told - because of your post I watched Inside No 9 - never seen it before. Loved the Doctors reference! Inside No 9 was very very weird. Is it a series?

Vivienne's rape was horrific and extremely well acted. She was a great character and I'm glad she's still in the opening credits (in the car with Heston leaning in). Heston lying under the Christmas tree was also harrowing. Without scrolling back I can't actually remember what happened in the last episode before Christmas this year.

23rd is ages away, that's ridiculous! Hopefully by the time it comes back 6tl and Ruhma will have run away together for ever to Timbuktu.

toldmywraath · 31/12/2016 18:34

Anne Inside no 9 was a short series of half hour episodes (Reece Shearsmith & Steve Pemberton) One of them, The Twelve days of Christine was excellent & I still think of it today! I'd definitely watch that again but you absolutely mustn't read any spoilers about it, it would not do you any favours.

I liked Psychoville but that was a bit weird.

toldmywraath · 31/12/2016 18:35

To elaborate it was an anthology of different stories, the Christmas one you just watched was based on Crossroads hammy acting & dodgy sets.

toldmywraath · 31/12/2016 18:37

I think Doctors was about the foster lad's mum suffering a stroke & Ayesha's mum - that is as much as I can remember anyway.

toldmywraath · 31/12/2016 18:45

My dad has been to Timbuktu by the way - I always thought it was a made up place. Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 31/12/2016 19:07

Oh yes, those plots ring a bell now.

I will see if there are any more Inside No 9s on Catch Up. I like weird stuff.

Impressed that you know someone who has been to Timbuktu! What was he doing there?

toldmywraath · 31/12/2016 19:40

He did some of his National Service in North Africa (Libya- he went to Benghazi/Tripoli) He was in the forces for 5 years & was in Korea as well during the Korean war.

Raahh · 31/12/2016 21:58

ooh, I hoped some of you had seen the 'Inside No.9' referenceGrin. They are strange programmes- some better than others. My favourite was one where none of the actors speak at all, it's all just music, the twists in the story are hilarious, and the action is all done without speech. Is much funnier than I can describe, was the first series I think.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 31/12/2016 22:23

Oh told, that sounds fascinating.

I have never heard of Inside No 9 before this thread.

cinnamongreyhound · 03/01/2017 12:36

Is doctors back today?

cinnamongreyhound · 03/01/2017 12:37

Oh no, father brown Sad

toldmywraath · 03/01/2017 14:35

Hello cinnamon - Happy New Year & boo to no Doctors until the 23rd. Sad

RTKangaSANTAMummy · 03/01/2017 15:54

I agree with you, the silent No 9 was fab

The one with doctors ref in wasn't very good IMHO but enjoyed the doctors tag Xmas Smile

Raahh · 03/01/2017 16:08

Father brown is a bit of a guilty pleasure in the Raahh household. But not at the expense of Doctors Angry

They've had a lot of weeks off over the past year, far more than usual.

DC not back at school til next week ( didn't finish til late), and it's really grim now that all the festive stuff is over and it is cold and grey. It's much colder here than last year, when the park was full of daffodils Daffodil on New year's day. This year, the duck pond was frozen .

I hope Doctors have some happier story lines this year. And more Al, less Ruhma.

toldmywraath · 03/01/2017 16:53

Raahh you're right-we had daffodils out on NY day 2016 & today the lake is frozen as well!
Blooming cold walking round the woods, the ground was like iron. The water fowl were slipping over the iced up lake, apart from the far end where the stream comes in from the woods, loads of ducks, moorhens, coots and a pair of swans a swimming. (no partridges around but I saw some coal tits)
