2 years ago a thread on Our Girl was started with these words ^Anyone watching this drivel?
although slightly enjoyed the family dynamics going on last night, unfortunately DD's favourite programme and in fact Guardian seems to recommend it^

38,000 posts, fireside wrestling contests, fan-fiction, autograph requests, carol concerts, CJ Grand Tours later we are about to watch series 2! And that first post is a distant memory.

Join us on what is sure to be an amazing journey over the next 5 weeks

Am I going to have to be the first one to crack a joke about woof and the bucket shower running dry? Grin

MaddieMoo82 · 14/09/2016 22:45

MrMads was very similar woof. He was surprised with Georgies knowledge of the remote control/laser thing and also agreed that they should be under the cover of darkness Angry they should watch together....

cjwoofwoof · 14/09/2016 22:46

Hmm ditto Rhu MK did a good job tonight, but those teeth are still too ultra white and perfect, as are the tattooed eyebrows, for her to be a believable army medic character Confused

Forgot to mention my favourite new character name - Spunky - don't know why, just is Blush

cjwoofwoof · 14/09/2016 22:47

Thanks pix but in RL that would never happen if it was Elvis under my shower Grin

Rhubarb01 · 14/09/2016 22:54

I did get distracted by the teeth at one point as well woof - probably just envy really Grin

I also caught a quick glimpse of CJ's gnashers and I'm inclined to think there could have been some work there - not that I would blame him. About the only thing I ever used to like about that awful programme on C4 a few years ago where people had complete makeovers including plastic surgery, was some of the dentistry miracles that were performed and must have been incredibly expensive but in many cases completely life changing in terms of people's self-confidence. I have pretty normal teeth but sometimes I do envy people with a really nice set of gnashers!

pixieg1rl · 14/09/2016 22:57

Silly MrMads and MrWoof. They couldn't rescue her after dark because she was being executed at sunset. Durr

cjwoofwoof · 14/09/2016 22:58

Hah! Told you, told you, dirty rotten told you

Grin
Rhubarb01 · 14/09/2016 22:58

Did anyone hear that news item today about how watching boxsets and programmes together improves your relationships? Take heart woof and mads that despite the irritating comments from your other halves you are sharing the experience. I just banned everyone from the room - I'm doomed!

Rhubarb01 · 14/09/2016 23:01

And of course pix we wouldn't have been able to admire Elvis and CJ half as much in the dark!

Firegirl · 14/09/2016 23:03

Can you preorder the DVD? I'm definitely going to do that. Not putting it off till Christmas as a pressie like last time. Bad mistake.

cjwoofwoof · 14/09/2016 23:05

That's what was wrong with last weeks episode - too much bleedin darkness and I couldn't focus on Elvis's obliques satisfactorily. Did I mention that?

All missions should take place at midday so rescuers need a shower at the end - always accompanied by Spunky obvs then everyone's happy

MaddieMoo82 · 14/09/2016 23:06

Ah yes pix I would tell him but he's not as emotionally invested in it obviously and has already moved onto watching something else.
Ok rhu I'll have to take your word on that!! Smile

cjwoofwoof · 14/09/2016 23:13

Well Rhu I can't imagine anything worse than watching my favourite box sets with DH - I like to lech privately thank you.

Although we do watch Poldark together without any arguing/interruption mainly because he's got the hots for Demelza and I'm usually struck dumb with lascivious thoughts watching AT so DH gets an hours peace and quiet Grin

cjwoofwoof · 14/09/2016 23:16

Ditto mads DH's parting shot was "well that was a pile of shite, I'm off to bed" . Do you think it's worth waking him now to tell him pix says Georgie was to be executed at sunset so that's why they had to have a daylight rescue?

Probably best not...

icemistOBE · 14/09/2016 23:20

Well what do we think his explanation will be?

OK I'm going for a re-watch now complete with subtitles and earphones so that I get the full experience!

icemistOBE · 14/09/2016 23:24

And that's why I sent hubby out to have a pint, peace and quiet to drool appreciate the superb filming Grin

Well ice it's hard to say based on the very little we know - apart from 'Laura' on his arm. Maybe he had to go and rescue someone else or there was some vital mission that simply couldn't wait - actually, do we think CJ knows why he went? He did after all tell CJ he was going to explain it all as if CJ ought to know? Remember in the tent when CJ asked "Have you caught up with Elvis' news?" - seriously though I can't believe that she really didn't pay any attention to anything about him - I mean in the circumstances most of us would surely have had some sympathy with Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction and stalked at least a little bit in a none psychotic and threatening manner!

Nickel45 · 14/09/2016 23:31

What was your fave bit highlight woof?

Our Girl and Captain James Addicts Thread XXXVIII
Ilovelblue · 14/09/2016 23:32

Firegirl seem to think it was £24 to pre-order from Amazon. It seemed a bit steep when we discussed it at first and last week's episode didn't float everyone's boat so I was wondering whether it was worth the money. Might need a rethink now!

Ilovelblue · 14/09/2016 23:38

As the chief organiser of CJ's two previous UK tours, I'm wondering if next time we'd be up for an Elvis and CJ tour? Any takers? BK might even offer to chauffeur them around again?

cjwoofwoof · 14/09/2016 23:41

Oh yes Nick thats what I'm talking about. Damn and blast that convenient khaki sheet thing spoiling the full view. Where's a puff of wind when you need it? If I was a Buddhist I'd want to come back as Elvis's extra long dog tag thank you Grin

JedRambosteen · 14/09/2016 23:43

I was certain someone on here (maybe LtEve) would have commented on Elvis' flicky hair being faaaaaaar too long to be regulation length. You have all disappointed me terribly Captain James threadsters. Wink

cjwoofwoof · 14/09/2016 23:48

Jed Elvis can be as floppy as he likes when in iloves company and his hair length has been discussed very heartily previously, so ner, ner, ner.

cjwoofwoof · 14/09/2016 23:53

Well it's up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire for me after another 20 minutes quick glance at nicks pic to keep me going through DHs snoring. I may well wake him to explain pixs confirmation of reasons for a daylight rescue, in case he's still fretting.
