although slightly enjoyed the family dynamics going on last night, unfortunately DD's favourite programme and in fact Guardian seems to recommend it^

38,000 posts, fireside wrestling contests, fan-fiction, autograph requests, carol concerts, CJ Grand Tours later we are about to watch series 2! And that first post is a distant memory.

Sorry, forget to mention Clusesue as well. Welcome. You're not alone in wishing LT could make some appearance in this series or one of Kelly's by now famous calls for a cameo. Where are you kelly ? Hope you've had time to watch and enjoy and life's not too difficult at the moment. If so, just relax into a bit of life decompression by wallowing in this thread and more episodes - just what the doctor ordered.

kuiakaituhi · 11/09/2016 14:21

Just finished watching AT in first episode of "And Then There Were None", He is a delectable creature, especially as a bad boy. Did someone hint that he gets his shirt off? He wouldn't need to climb any drain pipes first, would he?

Sorry Gloria G, I WAS tactless and undiplomatic.I just feel very (illogically) protective of my favourite couple on TV. I think Molly shines as a very real person who utterly captivated CJ because of her lack of guile and her refusal to accept bullshit. Not sure about the current Glamour Puss. Bit of a contrast between an eighteen year old chundering into a recruiting office doorway and a stunningly beautiful bride as introductions to their characters!

Personally, I think Lacey Turner is very beautiful and I think she is a magnificent actor, I'll never forget that first meeting between her and CJ on the tarmac at Brize Norton...if that wasn't chemistry in action I don't know what is. Watching Episode 1 today, I thought BA's acting was a bit flat and wondered whether her absence meant he wasn't quite "sparking".

I don't think this series is going to be about his love life at all. Perhaps the next series could be about both medics? Just saying...

Woof you can relax about Sonny Bill for the time being.I don't think he's up for any action for a while, appeared at half time on crutches, Achilles broken at Olympics.Keep practising on Manu and Co, and you'll be fit and ready for SBW when he gets his plaster off in three months or so

Rhubarb01 · 11/09/2016 14:31

Oh yes Kuia AT definitely gets his shirt off - I think it's the next episode! Grin

Actually, he also got his shirt off in the mine last Sunday - any excuse eh!

Ilovelblue · 11/09/2016 15:02

Yes Gloria please come back. We are generally a friendly bunch and to be honest, it's good that people have different views. We have been on here so long that we are in our own little bubble so we need people like you to come along and make us realise there are more views around than just ours.

What people seem to forget is that we shouldn't really compare LT and MK because the characters they are portraying are totally different. MK is a more experienced medic with two previous tours (or so I presume, Afghan and Sierra Leone have been mentioned) under her belt whereas for Molly, it was her first tour and she was younger.

Anyway, must shut up. I didn't even spend this much time on my A level set texts! If only King Lear had been as good looking as CJ or Elvis eh?

AlittleinlustwithRA · 11/09/2016 15:30

Hello Kazza and Cluesue

Kuia - no drainpipes but an item from the wardrobe department that disappointingly doesn't drop Sad.

Olliepops05 · 11/09/2016 15:44

Afternoon Ladies, I really enjoyed series 1 and just adored CJ and MD chemistry, they really made OG special for me. Most of the actors in series 1 were not very well known actors at the time which also added charm to make OG so good. I watched series 2 ep 1 again still disappointed, just not getting that feeling of wanting to watch it over and over again. Hopefully ep 2 is an improvement as we have waited so long for this series.

Alittle - Fingers was probably my least favourite member of 2 section in series 1 but i really liked him in ep1 and also warmed towards Monk.

Read the article from radio times Ilove did think it was strange talking about a third series with MK when the second series was not even on television yet. Would rather have TG persuading LT to take a break from EE and come back to OG for a third series.

kuiakaituhi · 11/09/2016 15:57

have given a lot of thought to the scene with the boy with the maggoty mouth and felt Molly's influence as CJ stood at the end of the bed keeping watch over Lane as she tended to the boy. I thought back to two key scenes in Series 1, the first being Molly insisting on attending to Bashira's injured eye in spite of CJ coming over all Bossman and difficult.

The other one was just before the wardrobe/wedding ring scene where CJ told her that her influence had changed him and that he realised the need to take care of people's needs, one by one.

What do others think?

cjwoofwoof · 11/09/2016 16:29

Glad the 'Achilles broken' cover story is holding up for Sonny kuia when in fact it was our rather exuberant naked samba sand dancing on Copacabana beach that landed him in trouble Blush Unfortunately he just couldn't take my weight when I tried the gorilla grip pincer movement and stumbled over a large boulder. Uncannily, the same movement with the entire Ukranian pommel horse men's gymnastics team had worked very efficiently as orph can testify.

Regarding your views on CJ caring about maggot boy, I just think they're scraping around for him to appear in some scenes when in reality he'd be far more concerned with overall camp safety and security not a little boys rotten tooth in the med tent. I found that scene totally unbelievable being surrounded by so many staff and soldiers when all hell was breaking loose outside. Missing LT big time at the mo, and I'm not inclined to watch over and over just like Ollie said apart from Elvis shimmying the drainpipe

kuiakaituhi · 11/09/2016 19:08

Have just written short ff about the maggot boy scene,Woof, praising up LT. Trying to work her in to the story. Have a look, tell me what you think. I didn't realise the extent of your contempt!! Am a bit embarrassed now, serve me right.

Going back to the Greek story this week, will get Molly to follow orders for homecoming, as already given by CJ in an earlier chapter. Will that help, do you think.? Is that a more important task for him?

cjwoofwoof · 11/09/2016 19:27

Ooh excellent kuia reading it now before I settle down with a bottle small glass of Prosecco for my weekly fix of the Adonis that is Cap'n Poldark. I'll not be happy if he's sent to the gallows tonight and will be writing a very stern letter to the BBC if they do. Hoping he may have to go to the gallows topless, however, so there is a slight dilemma Grin

MaddieMoo82 · 11/09/2016 19:51

Enjoyed your new chapter kuia, great how you are tying everything in to the episode.
Yes to poldark later! Do you think if he is sent to jail woof he'll need to be stripped searched before entering his cell? Probably bit too over the top safety measures for the poldark era but we can but hope!

Ilovelblue · 11/09/2016 20:21

I think if you're going to settle down with Poldark woof, I might see if Elvis Harte is available........

cjwoofwoof · 11/09/2016 20:47

Indeed mads coz you never know what he might have stored in his Chatham Pocket...the odd pasty or extra large pilchard I'd wager. Can I volunteer myself with the 18th century surgical gloves?

Elvis is all yours for the next hour ilove but then he'll be back shimmying up my drainpipe for the rest of the evening Grin

Excellent chapter kuia hope there's more after Ep 2 Flowers

orphan · 11/09/2016 20:58

I know I'm late to the party but finally watched ep 1 and unfortunately... am feeling underwhelmed.

I just can't take to Sugartits; she's too obviously gorgeous, so much so that I actually don't find her attractive.Confused I much prefer Molly's looks (do wish we knew what spo is thinking). Elvis I can take or leave - can already hear the scream of tyres as woof races to 'take' him.

Of course CJ is cream tea worthy but (deep breath) not quite as swivel inducing as before....It just seems wrong to me that he's interacting, flap opening etc with MK and not Molly. I just can't work myself up to care about Georgie.

I feel traitorous saying all this. Someone tell me I'm wrong? But I honestly don't think I'd be too bothered if I didn't see the rest of the series. That's me straight to the back of the naked wrestling aftershow rubdown queue

orphan · 11/09/2016 20:59

I think I've been in decompression for too long and obvs the trauma of Rupe getting hitched has addled my brains.

Nickel45 · 11/09/2016 21:33

I went back and looked at some of those old YouTube complications, as I wasn't feeling the same for CJ yet, I particularly like the one set to Damien Rice I Don't Want to Change You. Definitely got the old chills back, still as addictive as it was two years back.

Ilovelblue · 11/09/2016 22:13

I've sat and watched the first episode again for the third time but I may have watched Elvis at the beginning a few times more, not saying how many and it has grown on me more. Just a little dubious though that there are some gratuitous shots of CJ just to keep us hormonal women happy. Yes, I know we love him, but am not entirely convinced it really does much for the story. I think others have commented on this.

MaddieMoo82 · 11/09/2016 22:47

Ah nickel that video is one of my favourites Smile very lovely.
Must admit I'm enjoying this new story. I miss Molly lots but I understand now that her story was complete at the end (going full circle) and now it's like a new our girl. Im so glad CJ is in it but I'm glad he's not getting romantically involved again... It wouldn't look great. I also don't think it would have been right to continue to focus on CJ and Molly either. Having said that I would love a cheeky cameo or more!
Looking forward to seeing where TG takes this (hopefully in the showers when elvis and CJ are catching up on each other's news after a long grimy day in Kenya)
Right I'll shut up now.

Oh finally woof no toplessness at all in poldark... How very disappointing Sad

Rhubarb01 · 11/09/2016 23:15

Can I just say that I know why they extended Poldark to 10 episodes this run - so that they could give us two really boring episodes and then hopefully get on with the rest of the story in the remaining eight. Sorry to say this but I nodded off several times while it was on and now i just want them to get on with some more mining, horses racing across the the clifftops and some smuggling.

Also love that Molly and James music compilation - my favourite of the old ones.

orphan · 11/09/2016 23:30

Ah but rhu I'm afraid this series has been troubled by some disputes over the scripts. Prudey staged a topless protest over her quivering syllabubs being given less screen time and Darkie refused to come out of the stables having glimpsed the knackers yard scene in eps 4...

kuiakaituhi · 12/09/2016 00:58

I'm thinking back a year or so ago when we were all gagging for CJ to be in this series, mainly so we could perv over him. So TG heard our pleas and wrote him in. Remember how excited we all were when we found out he would be in.
Already the uniform lovers have had him in full Number Ones, running even and flashing displaying his flash gear. What other visual delights might Mr Grounds have in mind for us?
I'm wondering if some of us might be a little picky. Let's cut to the chase Does it really matter if he's only there for decorative and/or hormone inducing purposes this time round?

And just a thought for the future. IF we make enough noise about missing Molly, being loved up by the Bossman. who knows that she might be tempted back, now in a very senior role in the Army. I think she would make a brilliant officer/trainer of other staff as she appears to be doing now in Afghan.

SoEverybodyDance · 12/09/2016 01:33

I think it would be unfair to bring back Ben Aldridge, who lets face it, made the show for. most, in an eye candy role. He's a good actor, has a fiercely loyal following and everyone around the project has taken advantage of that - tweeting selfies with him, referencing his name in their projects etc... he should receive some benefits from bringing publicity to roles, beefed up parts, more negotiating power, better contracts, more close ups etc...

kuiakaituhi · 12/09/2016 01:38

Look at the original. Look at the hair. Is the name a visual joke? I think sp.

Morning everyone. I happened to be emailed this rather topical little fun quiz with a few references that will resonate with this thread (promise I don't work for this company but I have used their treasure trails which can be fun and cheap ways to entertain the under elevens if you are at a loose end in the holidays!)
