Anyone seen the first episode of Fleabag? I found it on iPlayer and it rather amused me.

Yes, I thought it was excellent. V.funny and quite different.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 25/07/2016 23:17

I'm a bit of a fan.

Rollergirl1 · 26/07/2016 11:27

I watched it the other day and was underwhelmed. That actress only ever plays those parts (intelligent, kooky and slutty). She was in another program recently, can't remember the name but it was based on some young professionals living in a dis-used hospital. She was the old best friend (love interest) of one of the "squatters" who turns up out of the blue. As I say it was exactly the same character, sexually promiscuous, rebellious with a devil may care attitude but ultimately deeply unhappy.

Rollergirl1 · 26/07/2016 11:38

The other comedy was called "Crashing" and it turns out that the actress in both (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) wrote them both so that explains it.

Truckingalong · 31/07/2016 22:21

Nice use of the word slutty there. I watched it and loved it but it seems a woman can't have sex with a number of men without someone labelling her as slutty. I despair.

Groovee · 02/08/2016 10:40

Was a bit underwhelmed by it. Will Andy come back?

ThisPasadenaHomemaker · 02/08/2016 10:41

All I could think was that she was like a slimmer, more foul-mouthed Miranda.

And about as funny.

Thingiebob · 02/08/2016 10:48

I thought it was very good.

I didn't like the previous show Crashing to be honest. It was just too try hard.

Lules · 02/08/2016 10:52

I really loved it. I keep mentioning it to people in RL but they haven't seen it.

ForalltheSaints · 05/08/2016 22:20

I watched one episode as I saw Phoebe Waller-Bridge in a play about five years ago- to be honest the format did not work for me. Miranda is streets better.

Truckingalong · 19/08/2016 20:11

I think it's fabulous. I think I've got a crush on her too!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 19/08/2016 20:14

I quite like her dark twisted sense of humour but she is a bit obsessed with bum sex.

DameXanaduBramble · 19/08/2016 20:16

You can't in any way compare this to Miranda! I love it, it's very clever and well written. Shame it's only on bbc3, that's why nobody has heard of it.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 19/08/2016 20:26

Apart from her having brown hair and coming from a middle class family, I can't see any similarities with Miranda.
Miranda is pure slapstick comedy.

DameXanaduBramble · 19/08/2016 21:01

Jolly hockey stick comedy. This is gritty, dark humour.

BelladiNotte · 19/08/2016 21:28

P'raps the similarity to Miranda alludes to the asides to camera?Confused
However, I really enjoyed it, and there's a second series commissioned, I believe.
Agree, tho, that she seems to have an obsession to bum sex.[

DameXanaduBramble · 19/08/2016 21:48

Miranda doesn't have the monopoly on camera asides, it's an age old technique.

LineyReborn · 22/08/2016 10:22

I saw Ep 1 on ?BBC1 last night but found the sisters thing a bit too forced.

Excited101 · 22/08/2016 19:55

I love it, not at all like Miranda

SaigonSaigon · 22/08/2016 19:59

I love it too. Very well written and acted. And dark. Brilliant if you like your comedy a bit leftfield.

bearofnothingness · 23/08/2016 08:12

watched first four episodes last nigh, vv funny, looking forward to finishing the series!

It's brill

drigon · 25/08/2016 00:20

Not too bad. It's a grower!

BigcatLittlecat · 25/08/2016 00:24

I like it! It is dark and thought provoking. It does get better as the series goes on.

Just watched the last episode last night. I loved it, I wonder if the next series will be upgraded to BBC2? I loved the development of her relationship with her sister. Poor DH watched the first then the last episode which was particularly dark but also loved it. Agree about the fractured and dysfunctional relationships and liked the reveal of her relationship with her sister.
