Middle not in the books. As far as I remember Lyanna was kidnapped/eloped a year before the end of the war...therefore timelines wouldn't allow him to be the father.

Somebody posted about alliances earlier, teaming Lannister with Martell Dany Theon and Olenna but how does thatcwork when Cersei's lot killed Marg Loras and Manse Tyrell along with Martell people? Oh and then there's Jaime's kingslaying incident...?

Jaime is done with Cersei especially after Tommen.

I liked how Sansa was with Jon and saw no signs of future betrayal brewing - yet.

Ha, I sat in my big laundry cupboard (I shit you not) watching it on the iPad for the very same reasons! It's far too damn sunny in my house for my liking and it was the only place I could watch it without seeing my own reflection in the screen. It's cosy. Might be my new hiding place when the kids are driving me mad.

Dany has Lannister because she has Tyrion. No fucker wants or will want an allegiance with the Incest Twins Kin and Kingslayers each.

I'm thinking Jaime will/already does suspect Cersei of murdering Tommen. Cersei will die. House Lannister is Jaime and Tyrion - Jaime will probably join Brienne on Team Jon, splitting them.

To be fair as well the Lannisters are decimated too. They don't have many of them left. I reckon Dany will give Casterly Rock to Tyrion. Jaime will die in Briennes arms

Can any of the other book readers remind me who the Lannisters who aren't Lannisters are? They are of the family but different surname. Maternal line,? They called a character Lannister in the show who is something else in the book to make the connection clear. There are other Lannisters around.

Lots of minor houses with a Lannister connection but none close enough to claim the throne on birth right

There's a ton of Lannister cousins in the books who don't appear in the show. Can't think of anyone who was name changed to Lannister though?

I googled I'm thinking of Cleos Frey who was Alton Lannister on show. (Cousin murdered by Jaime when escaping Robb/Catelyn) He was played by the lad from Emmerdale. So there is a link (maternal line) between Lannisters and Freys

Yup - Tywins sister Genna is married to Emmon Frey (parents of the afore mentioned Cleos)

Actually from memory there is a sister of Tywins who married the Frey heir. She only appears once in the books when Jamie turns up to break the siege on Riverrun. She has a fairly healthy contempt for her husband. She had lots of kids so the Lannisters definitely had Frey cousins. But they weren't close at all.
