I had visions (from soup not God) of Team Athos wenches flailing like mad during that episode, particularly at the beginning and then when he invited Sylvie in for coffee wine.

Dog was fit, Porthos wasn't annoying, not enough Trev, Kingy was sensible(!), English Queenie was annoying, Feron and Grimaud were brilliant, Sylvie was fab, Pauline was odd, big hello to Paul McGann, and Aramis was the very very bestest FAFest of all and I'd like to see him get sweaty a lot more often.

In honour of Madame's thread title (although it's not how it was meant) gain again, gain again!

Loved it. Absolutely brilliant episode. I like Laura Haddock - she's got beautiful bone structure.

Did find it funny that Aramis had to quickly paper over the cracks in the back story by adding "until my father came to take me away..... you know, like I mentioned in ktq he made honey brandy and that, so we'd better crowbar in that I went to live with him later....."

Well my watching of the ep was a bit interrupted by various things, so I might have to reserve judgement, but... wtf was that all about??

Dp did crack a good line at the start though.

"Did he just say, 'Athos we need to get to the loo?'"

I LOVE BONNAIRE. That was hilarious and brilliant. So so much to say, but shattered so will catch up tomorrow.

My computer was being sooooo slow, that with posting taking ages & the new thread confusion I'm not sure it all made too much sense tbh . I will need a rewatch - what torture!

I do remember another cracking start to an ep with everyone taking the piss out of Athos, Bonnaire hamming it up gloriously, Kingy being hilariously sensible & Aramis being utterly FAF for every second he was on screen. Oh and Dog being rather cute with all the daughters & then the horse . Would've liked more Trev - think we only got one eye roll, no 'I've 100% had enough' faces & he didn't punch Marcheaux.

letus - I thought of peaches & a whole lot else at that line . Actually, now I think of it, that's probably round about the time I started to lose the plot. Quite literally.

Oops over thread confusion

I was admiring a friends new conservatory, had signed up to their fancy 5g wifi, and thought I'd have a surreptitious Swagger visit between canapés when I noticed you all rollicking towards the end of the thread. There was only time for a cursory glance, so I missed madame saying she'd got it covered. Then I cocked up the link at the exact same moment the fancy 5g wifi broke . So the confusion is all my fault, sorry

Anyway, yet to see ep4, sounds like it's was great fun

Have't mamaged a rewatch, but after a few hours sleep my summary for Madame* is:
It was all about Bonnaire stealing the English Queen's jewels with some Aramis backstory and Athos romantic angst shoehorned in. And it was a good'-un.

MoreLike - yes, I thought that too quick backstory reconciliation/recovery for Aramis via the continuity script-writers

My resounding thought is that, if Athos invites you up for wine, and isn't overly interested in your political views or getting to know you, then.... I don't see the problem. #wench
