I just wanted to offload this very guilty pleasure of mine...has anybody seen it? I am totally hooked on how shit it is! One recipe that she carefully described how to make was 'Fry Sauce'....ketchup and mayonnaise in a bowl (!). One other great one was teaching the audience how to make a 'White Wine Spritz'; pour out some white wine, add some soda water and an ice cube. Then you get glimpses of her emotionally detached cowboy husband, who seems very embarrassed by the whole thing. Great telly!

It sounds terrible - I clicked on this thread thinking it would be just the opposite, someone killing their own chickens and making corn bread on a griddle - but now I really want a white wine spritzer Smile

I've only seen it once, she was making brownies for her sons with a packet mix and adding things like penut butter chocolate cups and M and Ms to the mix.

It's that weird sort of American non cooking cooking where it's all mixing ready made stuff like soup powder and canned dough together and calling it a home cooked meal.

I love it. It makes me want to add cans of pop, blocks of cheese and jalapenos to everything Grin

However lovely the kitchen though I think the lifestyle must be claustrophobic - everything seems to revolve around his family, the kids are home schooled and going to church seems like a treat Hmm

DH thinks it's total junk he is right and that I'm crazy for watching it. DD asks "mummy, why is she always smiling?" Grin

I used to love PW until I found out about her husband's family's records for drink-driving. Plus I didn't realise how filthy rich she was either. The lodge she cooks in on TV isn't actually where she lives, that's a whole separate house elsewhere on the ranch. She also has nannies to homeschool the kids and it's rumoured she has staff behind the scenes on her website too so doesn't write everything herself.

You didn't? Her family is incredibly wealthy.

Of course she has staff behind the scenes writing stuff. They all do.

They're just peddling an image/brand.

She once told us all how she keeps her dog so clean. She makes it swim across the pond. It's a basset hound FGS. Can they even swim?

No I didn't realise until about 5 or 6 years ago when I did some research into her. Maybe I'm naive but I really thought she was a big city girl turned cowboy's wife because that's how she sells herself. I didn't realise until I bought her book Blush that her family were very very wealthy either.

Her blog is worth a stalk. All sunset tinged photos of the kids rounding up the cattle with breathless expressions of wonder at how perfect her children are.

i watch sometimes! I quite like her on the whole

have said on here before about the big dinner she did for her fil and how she was whipping up massive dishes of family favourites all over the place and trilling on about her lovely SIL who had been asked to bring salad

I really wanted it to be like Phoebe and the cups and ice episode, but no the SIL brought a very simple salad and was generally patronised for the whole half hour.

BUT...PW is much nicer about her sil online..the sil trails about with all the children while PW only deals with the latest baby and making fancy dinners for them all, so they seem to rub along quite nicely on the whole.

I've been off work for 2 weeks recovering from surgery and watched her nearly every day. I'm back to work on Monday. I'm going to miss her. Hmm

Like Countess, from the title I thought it would be very rustic and back to basics, with a whole cow in the freezer. I am disappointed by tales of packet mix brownies. I am still going to google the blog though.
