I just wanted to offload this very guilty pleasure of mine...has anybody seen it? I am totally hooked on how shit it is! One recipe that she carefully described how to make was 'Fry Sauce'....ketchup and mayonnaise in a bowl (!). One other great one was teaching the audience how to make a 'White Wine Spritz'; pour out some white wine, add some soda water and an ice cube. Then you get glimpses of her emotionally detached cowboy husband, who seems very embarrassed by the whole thing. Great telly!

Got sucked in reading her blog years ago, haven't watched the tv program.

Just don't follow her lasagna recipe (bleurgh).

I have half a cow in the freezer and live in the countryside in Dorset, does that count?

My mum and I watch that programme together! That woman doesn't half talk some shite, some of it is seriously cringeworthy, but we love her!

And I totally want her kitchen.

I didn't k ow that they are uber wealthy? I fact, I don't really buy it. Her father was a surgeon which wouldn't be crazy money. His family come from old land-owning/farming stock so they are rich but not obscenely so I'd guess?

I have a bit of love/hate thing for her and her show . I admire her, as she has built up a really successful blog and then empire, in what must be a very patriarchal world. And I read all of her blog when I was off sick - the story of how she met 'Marlboro Man' was what was later turned into a cheesy novel. But if that wasn't bad enough, she seems t have stopped calling him MM and now calls him... Daddy. Ick.

Ok so a quick Google tells me how wrong I am. In 2013 the Drummond family (so MM, brother and father) were listed as the 17th top property owners by area in the USA, with 433k acres. Cripes.

Oh. I'm going to check this out as I'm not watching any US guilty pleasures right now.

Oh dear. Before this thread I didn't know about the book (despite being a long-time, mildly baffled watcher of the TV show). I bought it. I'm reading it. It's sub-Jilly Cooper, and I don't say that lightly.

I am of course loving it.

She has a recipe for Fanta Pie or something, it's some croissant pastry from a can rolled up with sugar and baked with a can of Fanta.

Fascinating, in a weird way.
