Totally Scott Lee - why have I only just heard of this TV show?

I saw this linked to yesterday and I've binge watched it all. The most uncomfortable TV I've ever seen, but also hilarious unintentionally.

If anyone has 3-4 hours its worth a view

I came in this board looking for the thread about ‘I May Destroy You’, saw this thread, clicked it thinking WTF and instead of going to bed I’ve now put on YouTube. So thanks!

I remember this being on, I was 20, but never saw it because I still lived with my mum and she didn’t have sky, so I’m going in fresh.

First thoughts: Early 00’s fashion, hair and makeup was god-fucking-awful.

The worst bit about the fashion is knowing I wore similar 😳

I watched 3 episodes last night and went to bed at 1:15am!

I was never a steps fan so can imagine had I watched it when I was 20 I would have found it hilarious in quite a mean way but watching it as an adult I do feel sorry for her, she well and truly had the rug pulled out from under her. I think she also thought steps were more credible than they were and just couldn’t get her head around the fact that actually, no one cared.

Nana is a legend! ‘She likes to think we’re interested’. Harsh, but also sums up my point above.

My early 00s fashion confession. Denim skirt, footless tights (leggings, no idea why we had a phase of calling them footless tights), a grey t shirt with a neon print and sequin ballet pumps. Hair flat ironed poker straight. I thought I looked the shit! I was also fond of a dress over jeans

I just started watching Steps reunion.
Lisa comes across really nice in this. I think they may have stitched her up a bit with the editing in the Totally Scott Lee series. Even the title sequence was mocking of her and her family in it.

The title sequence was awful. I thought it was a spoof at first.

I'm far too old to be watching this but I do love a bit of car crash television. It's only 15 years ago but how much has changed. Lisa and Michelle both seem like hard work and not much sense of humour, neither seem to recognise when their partners are just teasing.

Oh, I am I the only one that's spotted the guy that Lisa's dad is having the slightly pervy conversation with at Lisa's video shoot (think it's episode 5) is none other than Nick or Royston from the equally trashy Real Housewives of Cheshire!😀

Just finished the last episode.

I didn’t realise it was being filmed as it was airing until the reveal, in the whole series you hardly heard more than a second or two of the song. I don’t watch a lot of reality tv but I imagine that would be unthinkable now. Just went to youtube to watch the video for electric, it wasn’t that bad.

I know steps had a go at a comeback a few years ago and don’t think it went great but I hope she’s happy now.

This is comedy gold, so like Alan Partridge! It reminds me of a bbc3 mockumentary about an ex girl band singer, perhaps this is based on totally Scott Lee!
The fashion is outrageous! What was that poncho she was wearing at the stadium?!
The look Michelle gave to the camera when the nan's dog was all over her! 😂 I'm 3 episodes in, so good.

Ooh I need to watch this!! I saw the Steps reunion program programme and the following series following their tour, it was brilliant. Lisa just wanted to be in Steps you could tell. I loved Faye in that, she takes no prisoners but seems the most down to earth. H still an irritant however 🤣

i too was bereft when it all finished. so david brentl-y awful that it was brilliant.

now i have fallen down the hole which is life with the andres. also only on youtube i think. filmed in lockdown. and bloody brilliant as was lisa "let's g. o." scottttttt lee.

I was reading through this thread and thought "oh yes I used to go to the gym to watch this too because I didn't have sky" and "oh yes the jodie Marsh one was even better" and then I realised it was my comments on the original thread

Just rewatching it now it's amazing. Can anyone recommend something similar?

I watched this at the time and remember the bit when she is on cduk with Lauren laverne and they did a phone in poll for whether viewers thought LSL should give up the pop career and Lisa got mixed up with the result and was going 'that's good they said yes' or something and Lauren was awkwardly explaining 'no it's not good...' so cringe
I used to love mtv reality shows of this era
