Totally Scott Lee - why have I only just heard of this TV show?

I saw this linked to yesterday and I've binge watched it all. The most uncomfortable TV I've ever seen, but also hilarious unintentionally.

If anyone has 3-4 hours its worth a view

@WhamRap I binge watched most of it last night.
Nathan is so funny. The way he got on stage with his one hit.

Lisa- I really really want to like her as she is trying and working so hard. But there is someone unlikeable about her. Maybe it's her sense of entitlement and lack of awareness. She has that Verucca Salt 'I want it now' air about her.
Also do you think her husband did cheat on her? They didn't seem very convincing in their denials.

Also I think they went with the wrong song. It was just so 'meh'.
I felt for her that she didn't want to take her kit off and wanted to be a serious artist. The record company were basically like you're gonna need to strip naked to get any chance of a hit with this!
Even the lady at the record company was like 'Who buys Lisa Scott-Lee music?' With support like that you haven't got much of a chance.

Everyone in her life seems to exist to support her. Why is Andy so subservient to her?
I really felt for her though. She actually enjoyed the process of songwriting/performing and didn't just want to be a celebrity.
I hope she is enjoying her life now in Dubai.

I'm watching it on the basis on this thread. I'm up to episode 8. I agree that there's something about her that isn't likeable but I can't put my finger on what it is. I did feel very sorry for her when she was being as used to strip off and I'm angry that women are put in that position. I was shocked that it was a serious conversation.

I love the editing and the brief clips they play of Nathan dancing back in the day when he mentions being in a band or having a bit. I don't think he was the best person to manage her but I'm guessing, as with record labels, she didn't have much of a choice.

I've also watched a few episodes today based on this thread!

I guess it shows that you DO need to have the x-factor. LSL could perform, sing, dance etc but she just didn't have 'it', whatever 'it' is.

Also LOVE the cut always to Nathan and his ego!

Binge watched it yesterday- she was so unlikeable and needy. I liked the record company woman.

@RaelImperialAerosolKid the record company lady was a legend. She could not hide her utter contempt for Lisa.

I also found the rivalry between Lisa and her sister in law Michelle funny. You could tell Lisa didn't like Michelle ('forgets' her birthday present) and made sly digs.
It must have really riled Lisa up that Michelle was doing so well in Liberty X and was getting OK deals.
Michelle was equally as high maintenance. Sending her engagement ring back because she wanted more diamonds!!

Oh god I love this! I secretly binge watch it every now and then.
Lisa reminds me of a frenemy I used to have...very sweet to your face but you just knew she was sticking the knife in your back at every opportunity...

They were all terrible - even Nathan from Brother Beyond. The conversation with her mother no one seems to like you' was tough. But I agree they did enable her princess behaviour- she was very put out to not be in control of her brother's engagement.

Also her Dad perving on her when she was dressed up for the video was a bit weird 😬

I just watched it and tbh I mostly just felt sorry for her. The music industry is brutal, especially if you've had success like her and then suddenly every day is a struggle to get anyone to care. Unfortunately, she is only averagely talented and stood out in no way at all. I notice none of the pop bands big at that time spawned any solo stars who managed more than a couple of singles.

Also, I loathe Michelle. Anyone know of any other behind the scenes type shows like this other than Big Reunion? It was really trashy but compelling.

I did almost feel sorry for her - she did mention that she worked hard a lot. But she was so entitled. She was very lucky to be in Steps - and thinking back to the Steps reunion she was very pushy in that as well.
Her father was quite creepy in parts - but funny trying to swat the fly with the newspaper.
Good recommendation!

Oh gosh, this led me down a YouTube hole to "Steps: The confrontation". They all hate Claire (apart from H). It's a mad world they inhabit.

I need to watch that Steps show now. Apparently there was also a 3 parter following Michelle and Andy's wedding but I can't find it.
