Neighbours Thread - Is Lassiter's the most dangerous hotel in the world?

1002 replies

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/04/2016 19:52

Starting a new thread ready for the dramas of next week.

Can't believe I'll be on holiday when the all the excitement is going on. That was seriously bad planning.

If Paul dies then I'm not coming home.

My wish list for death: Amy, her son, her mum, Sonya, Ben & Steph.

OP posts:
Linnet · 24/05/2016 21:51

Can anyone explain why Sonia doesn't like/want her uncle Walter around? And why she didn't know who he was? I missed a huge chunk of neighbours a few years back which was when Sonia came into the show and met Toadie, so I'm not sure of all her background story.

MagpieCursedTea · 24/05/2016 22:01

Someone else appeared a while back claiming to be her Uncle Walter (he obviously wasn't) as part of a scam. That's why Toadie was suspicious of him and investigated so found out all his ongoing alcohol issues etc.

KittyMcAllister · 24/05/2016 22:29

I had to laugh when Ned borrowed the paper to look up film times! Bit old school?!

HairsprayQueen · 26/05/2016 22:44

Where do they find so many actors with such annoying faces?! Angry

PandasRock · 26/05/2016 23:24

Did anyone else see Charlie's tough snarly face? I roared with laughter Grin

Paige lookalike new girlfriend person is clearly a weirdo stalker, but no one will believe Paige when she tries to prove it...

BreconBeBuggered · 27/05/2016 11:24

Every time I see the Paige-alike, I feel as if I'm in one of those dreams where your teeth fall out and you can feel them all loose in youir mouth.

AGnu · 27/05/2016 14:52

Paige-a-like didn't last long thankfully!

It's starting to look increasingly like John blew up the hotel... I'm guessing he's part of the gang that Ned used to belong to & was sent to kill him for leaving the gang. Possibly some initiation thing.

PandasRock · 27/05/2016 16:38

But he doesn't have the gang tattoo, does he? You know, the one that Lauren recognised, cos she's so down with the kids with her know, edge of street gang tattoos, she must see a lot of them in her cosy suburban coffee shop.

Then again, it was her son whose first thought when trying to trace John was to look on the Dark web. Maybe the whole family are closet criminals, and actually Lauren blew up the hotel Grin

Katz · 27/05/2016 18:54

Don't forget Lauren's oldest son - the one born less than 9 months after Paige was in Juvie. Hence why they relocated back to Erinsborough for a new start.

MagpieCursedTea · 27/05/2016 18:58

Lauren knew about the gang sign because Matt was doing some police work that involved the gang. Not sure how that meant she memorised the sign though!

PandasRock · 27/05/2016 19:14

A flimsy excuse, if ever I heard one! Just how widespread is this gang supposed to be? Ned was in it years ago when he lived with Doug and Pam - presumably when he was a wayward teenager, so what, 8/9 years ago? And that was elsewhere in Australia, wherever Doug and Pam were supposed to be living, which I assume was not Mount Isa or wherever it was Lauren and Matt were before they came to Erinsborough...

I'm guessing John was there to prevent Lassiters blowing up, which was why he was needing to find someone, but first of all everyone will assume he was there to blow it up.

And how weird was that Paigealike?! Not even a proper weird ex girlfriend stalking him and pretending they never broke up, just someone who bumped into him for the first time the morning of the explosion Confused And no one thought to call mental health services, because obviously making up a fake life with a complete stranger who you fancy is just completely normal!

MagpieCursedTea · 27/05/2016 19:17

I reckon there's more to it with the fake ex girlfriend. Maybe she was sent to check up on him?

MiddleClassProblem · 27/05/2016 20:40

I'm not sure how Karl and Susan get so much time together with a gazillion jobs between the two of them. I completely forgot about off air!

I read up on what happens next week hoping to see an end to the explosion business. I'm hoping it won't be long now but fuck knows

AnneEyhtMeyer · 28/05/2016 09:49

I am bored with the drawn out explosion story now. Actually I was bored of it after about a week.

Fake Girlfriend story was bizarre if there isn't more to it.

OP posts:
PandasRock · 28/05/2016 10:22

I'll have to watch it again to be sure, but when fake girlfriend was leaving, the conversation with John made it sound as though they had met the morning of the explosion. If that is the case, how come nobody knew about her - surely she should have been interviewed by Erinsboroughs only police officer, as a vital witness?

And if she had somehow been missed, how come it didn't occur to John or Paige to let Mark know he'd missed such an important witness?

Instead, she makes up this weird story on the back of exchanging pleasantries with a total stranger, then just says 'oh, yeah, I made it up, sorry' and waltzes off when found out. Completely bonkers, even for neighbours.

BadgersNadgers · 28/05/2016 20:57

I have a new left of field totally random theory - Lynn

You could well be on to something. My money is on Bouncer though Wink

Katz · 28/05/2016 21:35

Badgers - or B2 who was Paul's dog briefly and went to live with Hillary. The storyline involved Lucy somehow.

MagpieCursedTea · 31/05/2016 20:48

Can't believe Steph is going to be daft enough to help Paul. I hope she doesn't go through with it!

Clawdy · 31/05/2016 22:48

The Ned - Lauren thing is cringey, I hate it.

skillsandtea · 01/06/2016 14:39

Where's all the fun gone in Neighbours? There isn't a single funny character in it. Toadie lost his personality when he met Sonya. Josh had some comedy moments, like the top less dancing with Aaron. Dr Karl can have some entertaining moments but that's because he can do everything. Tyler has potential but it's not being utilised. Need some laughs in it!

Clawdy · 01/06/2016 15:45

You are right, skillsandtea. Remember the House of Trouser!

Woodhill · 01/06/2016 16:24

Love the way Ned can become a tutor. Thought he had a criminal record. How old is he meant to be.

skillsandtea · 01/06/2016 16:34

Loved the house of trouser! Going back further, does anyone remember Dr Clive Gibbons? He was brilliant!

Clawdy · 01/06/2016 18:01

It's ringing a bell - some link with Lucy Robinson?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 01/06/2016 18:01

Loved Dr Clive!
