So after being forced to watch all sorts of weird and (occasionally) wonderfull kids tv shows for the past 6 Years it strikes me that there is only one or two I don't actually mind watching Sofia the first which my dd LOVES and Ben and holly which I actually lol at Hmm
But the majority I find truely awful - Goldie and bear is my new rage inducer but there's plenty of others I can't stand - micky mouse, waybolu... And the controversial choice of Mr tumble runs for cover
Wink
What do other parents love and hate?

Love, love, love horrible histories. And have learnt lots from it.

elQuintoConyo · 13/02/2016 20:03

Sportacus nope, I haven't spent all afternoon google-imaging Max Sheving!

Bored of Adventure Time, hate that fecking Pig, never liked Ben and Holly sickly boring crap. Love Gumball Grin suddenly got nored of Regular Show. Still have a soft spot for Spongebob and Patrick. Paw Patrol is annoying byt bearable, except for the buggering Chickaletta. Nice with chips Grin

ThatsNotMyRabbit · 13/02/2016 20:15

Like/used to like when kids were young :
Peppa Pig (just the thought of the expression on her face when she hangs up on Susie Sheep for being able to whistle cracks me up).

SpongeBob.

Wonder Pets.

Come Outside - special mention to the poo episode.

drspouse · 13/02/2016 20:23

I love Daniel Tiger, who DS quotes ("Grown ups always come back! When you do something new let's talk about what we do!". It's based on Mr Rogers that I loved as a child.

AmIthatbloodycold · 13/02/2016 20:24

My children are now older but I used to love Doodle Do. Mainly because i fancied the pants off Chris Corcoran .

I hated Tracey beaker. And I'm not ashamed to say, if she was mine, I would have left her in the dumping ground

Abby2431 · 13/02/2016 20:32

In the night garden !

I honestly do not understand that program yet it leaves my little one transfixed! I swear whoever created that show was under the influence of something! I always feel dizzy after watching it! X

Dolly80 · 13/02/2016 20:33

My daughter used to love Curious George and I would happily sit and watch it with her. Ben and Holly is another one that she likes and I find amusing (they do seem to sneak some little jokes in their for the parents watching).

I'm indifferent about Paw Patrol, Blaze and My Little Pony. They're probably her favourites at the moment and, whilst I wouldn't choose to watch them with her, I can easily block them out.

Can't stand Mr Bloom, Henry Hugglemonster or Alvin and the Chipmunks.

ThatsNotMyRabbit · 13/02/2016 20:35

Ooh yes I
Loved Doodle Do! Chris Corcoran is HAWT!

CoodleMoodle · 13/02/2016 20:48

Love/enjoy: Hey Duggee, Show Me Show Me, ITNG, Let's Play, Peppa (mostly Daddy) Pig. Apart from HD I think my toddler TV tastes are very different to everyone else! I'm a massive Horrible Histories fan and can't wait for DD to be old enough - she's two, so quite awhile yet!

Tolerate: Something Special, Tiny Tumble, Twirlywoos, Charley Bear, Bing (in very small doses - and surely there must be new episodes soon!?), Woolly & Tig.

Hate: Waybuloo. Just fucking Waybuloo. Anything else I can tune out.

I was a nanny before DD and suffered through Jessie, Good Luck Charlie, ANT Farm, Victorious, Shake It Up... Some are more tolerable than others!

ArmfulOfRoses · 13/02/2016 21:29

The Amazing World of Gumball is hilarious.

Lovelydiscusfish · 13/02/2016 21:39

I hate Mike the Knight. Sexist nonsense. Dh keeps insisting that it's an entirely accurate representation of life in the medieval period. Hmm
Other than that, I can tolerate most things. I'm quite into Pip Ahoy at the moment, as I find the setting so idyllic. And My Little Pony is pretty good stuff I think - in fact I got an actual lump in my throat watching an episode called "Call of the Cutie" recently, when someone was talking about the immense potential of one of the young female ponies ("She could be a great scientist, a great artist, even the Mayor of Ponyville...") I guess you had to be there.

Taranta · 13/02/2016 21:45

Love Hey Duggee - actually bought a toy Duggee 'for' DS2 for Christmas even though he's only 4 months old Blush
Why has no one mentioned the awfulness that is Me Too as yet?! Dear god, I remember when DS1 would always be up at 6am and it was the only thing on CBeebies at that hour...

ThisFenceIsComfy · 13/02/2016 21:45

Andy's Dinosaur Adventures is ace. Me Too! made me want to stab the TV.

I love Moshi Monster movie for its songs

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/02/2016 00:11

My DC are teens so thankfully I've never heard of most of these or they've grown out of them.

Wizards of waverly Place
iCarly
Victorious
Good Luck Charlie
AntFarm
Shake It Up
Suite Life
Jessie
Fred

All of them can spontaneously combust .

I still hold a soft spot for "Pingu" Meep Meep Smile

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/02/2016 00:13

Oh and "Who Let the Dogs Out"

choccyhobnobaddict · 14/02/2016 08:51

Me too! I forgot about that awful one! There is a place in hell reserved for granny Murray and that skeleton I'm sure

SagaAndMartinsLiftConvos · 14/02/2016 16:55

Horrible Histories beats everything into a cocked hat. I would watch that even if I had no DC.

Mine are older now but back in the day I didn't mind Come Outside, Doodle Do and Tikkabilla.

Loathed: Me Too, Tweenies (refused to have it on, fucking awful), Lazy Town

Dowser · 14/02/2016 18:37

Balamory!

Miss Hoolie!

Say no more!

Dowser · 14/02/2016 18:39

Loved super gran. And teletubbies.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/02/2016 21:35

Though I did like "Step Inside" , I have a weird fondness for Chris Jarvis (Mr Mopple) Grin

lunar1 · 14/02/2016 21:40

How has nobody mentioned baby jake yet, whose idea was that!

I could watch Ben and holly & peppa pig all day.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 14/02/2016 22:54

Horrible histories, yes, brilliant! Also Phineus and Ferb, I'd watch that without the DCs around - Dr Doofenshmirtz is an evil genius!

I used to love Come Outside back in the day too. I quite like a bit of My Little Pony, especially the songs! DD watches a lot of annoying American trash like Jessie and that one with the twins, one sporty and one a big drama queen. I don't mind them TBH but Adventure Time, regular show etc all weird.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 14/02/2016 22:58

I love Ben and Holly, but really don't like Peppa Pig but Ds2 is a fan so I have to put up with it.
We all like the Octonauts and Shaun the sheep.

Things I can't bear and won't watch:

  • Daniel Tiger's Neighbourhood (do you get that one?)
  • Yo Gabba Gabba (again, don't know if you get that, fucking hideous)
  • Fucking teletubbies
  • Waybuloo is on the edge. Drives me bats but I can just about bear it.
Backingvocals · 14/02/2016 23:04

I was just thinking this weekend how happy I am that my children are graduating from cbeebies to cbbc. Some of the programmes they watch are actually really good - Blue Peter is great (and a far cry from what it was like in my day when it was square as anything and that's why I liked it ). They also really like the Four O'clock Club which I think is excellent. The main characters are black - not to make a point or to tell stories about racism. They just are black - again things have really changed for the better. Plus it's funny.

OTOH - Me too! is officially the worst programme ever made.

Lovelydiscusfish · 14/02/2016 23:07

Yes, Lazy Town - excrutiating - I always feel sorry for the chap with the big false chin who is supposed to be so evil; it seems to me that all he wants is a nap, of maybe a bit of peace and quiet, you know, just to escape for a second the exhausting and largely purposeless frenetic energy evinced by Sportacus and that pink haired woman, and all those puppets.
Were I to live there, I'd be much of his persuasion. I saw an episode recently where the evil chin guy just seemed to swan around with a massive gateaux. At one point I think he napped in a sun lounger. The others were all bitching about "sport candy". I entirely saw his point!
