Totally agree about the poor handling of issue-led stories. Two more recent ones that weren't done properly were Steve's depression and Carla's alcoholism.

Alma's final story was really moving and I also liked the Todd coming out story (even Antony Cotton's crap acting didn't ruin it).

Becky could come bavk without Steve to see Roy and Kylie. No need for it to be the same actress.

I think Becky is too iconic for a different actress.

Oh definitely. It wouldnt be right to have a different actress. I dont think anyone other than Katherine Kelly could do becky justice.

Same with Karen (Suranne Jones). They wouldn't dare recast the character.

They could bring back Becky Karen and Raquel as a Charlie's angel style detective agency

The problem is all the good characters played by decent actors won't be back as the actors have all done well for themselves. So we're stuck with Sarah and Todd returning instead of Becky and Karen.

Although liking Todd recently.

It's funny how some actors are so engaging that even a fairly bland scene is watchable. Other actors can have major storylines though and just send me to sleep. When Carla came in to see Aidan for a brief coffee making scene, it was really watchable. But when Hope was gravely ill, I'd start playing with my phone.

Weren't the original Connors involved in some sort of mistreatment of Polish employees back in the day? Or at least they had illegal employees? And one of them died.

Bill Roache has always been an utter idiot but the comments about Anne Kirkbride are beyond the pale. WTF was he thinking??

Bill Roache needs to learn to STFU. What possible good reason could there have been for him to say any of that? Does he just love the sound of his own voice so much? He's a knob with verbal diarrhoea.

I thought Bill Roache was really wrong to divulge such private information. If she had wanted people to know about her problems she would have made it public when she was alive. She was very private in RL. Shame on him.

I think that is absolutely rotten, I was reading about it on Digital Spy last night. WTF!

I can't understand why Bill Roache said all that about her, it's just so grossly inappropriate.

Odd that he said she initially went off work to 'sort herself out'. I'd heard that it was because she was appalled at the charges against him and didn't feel comfortable working with him.
