Surely not much longer to wait now until the new producer starts? Things must improve, mustn't they?

Hanging on by my fingernails at the minute.

Is les Dennis, Gail's husband Michael?

Sorry sparkling but I hate him! Grin

Sparklingbrook · 13/02/2016 18:30

Did they actually marry? Yes him. I thought he was ok, but that might be because he's disappeared for a bit. Grin

I don't think I can stick with it when the whole body in the annexe things starts up.

poppiesanddaisies · 13/02/2016 18:34

It's ridiculous! I mean, as if you would!

I haven't seen Les Dennis for ages. Last I saw I think he was living with the son who wasn't his son and Steph.

I quite like those two though.

SavoyCabbage · 13/02/2016 18:37

Mary works loads looking after Asda and Aldi.

The whole Erica/Izzy debacle is another rushed story. They didn't know each from from Adam when Erica raced over to help her with that fabric now they are BFFs. It's preposterous.

SymphonyofShadows · 13/02/2016 19:25

Just caught up after not watching for a while. Simon must be off to get a new head soon, he won't want to stay with Leanne now.

This 5 star hotel/wedding fair with Carla, Michelle, Tracey and Lego Man is going to be a shitstorm isn't it? Tracey is going to get the wrong idea and go nuclear like she did when she lost the twins. That was in a hotel when she thought Steve was with Becky

AnneEyhtMeyer · 13/02/2016 21:18

Sparkling - her off Hearsay has to go. I have seen enough folded-arms-and-eye-rolling to last me a lifetime.

OP posts:
poppiesanddaisies · 13/02/2016 21:20

That really made me laugh Anne, she does!

Sparklingbrook · 13/02/2016 21:23

Ah ok Anne, but who can Steve have then? Leanne? Kim Tate?

Where's Liz gone?

poppiesanddaisies · 13/02/2016 21:29

I think Steve needs a new romance. I think a lot of the existing cast need culling. At the moment, it's just boring.

I wish the silly Connors would go. I like Carla but I can't even remember the names of the others although the one who is obviously going to end up with Eva is OK.

Is Jason going? It's a shame as he's fairly believable and consistent as a character without being one dimensional like that stupid Callum was.

Sparklingbrook · 13/02/2016 21:31

I still think Martin Platt should abandon the cheese farm and return, I would love that.

And Toyah Battersby she should come back too.

poppiesanddaisies · 13/02/2016 21:35

Definitely!

I also liked the relationship between Eva and her mum. I hate that once characters go, they're never mentioned again. Sunita's twins for instance - Mother's Day is coming up, but it's never hinted that this might be sad for them? Izzy never mentions her sister or dad, mind you she doesn't remember her own son!

I loved Becky. I would be thrilled if she came back! Karen too, actually.

Is that what the streets missing - strong, feisty, funny women? I'm thinking Karen, Tina, Becky, Frankie - remember her?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 13/02/2016 21:46

Leanne's not a bad idea, Sparkling. Kim Tate's a bit old for him. I would love for Karen to come back though, they were an excellent couple.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 13/02/2016 21:53

Kim Tate could have Martin Platt.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 13/02/2016 22:15

Now that Dave Glover (RIP) has left Doctors maybe he could join Corrie and reunite with Kim Tate?

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 13/02/2016 22:19

Yessss! He would be TBFD. Grin (The bloke from Doctors)

Sparklingbrook · 13/02/2016 22:20

Actually, they could transfer Doctors to the surgery in Corrie. Mrs Tembe would sort everyone out.

Jimmi and Leanne maybe?

Rachel0Greep · 13/02/2016 22:21

There are characters I would love to see returning, but I am guessing they have moved far beyond Corrie, and if they looked at it now, they would see it as the rubbish it has become.

I always loved Raquel, and the scene where she tells Curly she can't marry him, and then the one where they do marry, and she cries her eyes out, in the toilets, beforehand, at the registry office, both just so believable, and well done.

I loved Des Barnes, but he is dead, so they can't have him back Grin.
Karen was brilliant, as was Becky. None of them will return, I imagine, but we can dream.

Oh yes, I remember Frankie. She and Danny were great.

I would cull so many of the current characters, I would really leave very few... There would be a lot of empty houses, and job vacancies.

Agreed Anne, Michelle would be on my list to go.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 13/02/2016 22:29

That is an excellent plan, Sparkling!

Hasn't Leanne suffered enough? Could she afford the liquid soap bill?

Maybe Valerie and Steve? 6tl would end up with Dev.

OP posts:
Chipstick10 · 13/02/2016 22:29

I read the Toyah Battersby is returning.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 13/02/2016 22:30

Was Frankie the one played by the impressionist woman?

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 13/02/2016 22:30

6tl and Dev would be brilliant. And yes Jimmi's on/off OCD might be problematical with Leanne being an ex prostitute.

BUT how about Al and Mary?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 13/02/2016 23:05

That is a curve ball Sparkling! While I ponder the plausibility of that, I'll throw in Heston and Gail?

OP posts:
eddiemairswife · 13/02/2016 23:07

Too many stories start and fizzle out with no mention of them again.....Cathy's Art classes, Eileen and Michael, the gym (is Gary the only employee?) there doesn't doesn't appear to be a long term plan for any of them.

Sparklingbrook · 13/02/2016 23:08

Maybe Heston and Mary? But Al and Gail that's a no.

Shove the Gobbyplods in though. They would be ok.

Sparklingbrook · 13/02/2016 23:09

Oh yes, I forgot the Gym eddie.

The florists seems to be going very well. Weirdly.
