Surely not much longer to wait now until the new producer starts? Things must improve, mustn't they?

Hanging on by my fingernails at the minute.

Arthur Lowe was in Corrie in early 60s (before my time). Not many other male actors come to mind.
I watched 'Happy Valley' last night and was thinking about Hayley and Beckie being reunited (although they had no scenes together!)

eddiemairswife · 10/02/2016 10:39

I'd forgotten about Owen. I'm sure I've seen him in the odd Midsomer. Les Battersby is hardly a success! Apparently Sally Wainright (Happy Valley author) used to write for Coronation Street.

Wishful80sMontage · 10/02/2016 11:04

I was re-watching I'm Alan Partridge recently and Owens in that took me ages to place him!

Iwantacampervan · 10/02/2016 11:42

I've seen Owen in either Midsomer or Lewis and Tim was in one recently as a factory manager (a repeat as he looked a lot younger!)

Rachel0Greep · 10/02/2016 11:57

Watched an episode or two of Dr Foster recently, Suranne Jones... Always loved her in Corrie.

Interesting about the male actors. I can't think of any either except Rob James Collier.

Watching Love Actually at Christmas, and there was Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley). I think he is yet another example of a decent actor, who, so far, has been given a rubbish part.

SavoyCabbage · 10/02/2016 12:08

If Kylie is end up in 'the big house' could we not slip her a tenner to bump off some of the street dwellers?

Woodhill · 10/02/2016 12:13

Eddie Yates in Royal family and One foot in the Grave

hildasmuriel · 10/02/2016 13:07

I can remember the actor Shaun Dooley being in Coronation Street for a time and he has been in a lot including the recent series of Broadchurch.

The actress who played Des Barnes first wife, Steph, has been in a fair amount since including Alan Patridge and Scott and Bailey (which I think she is great in). She's called Amelia Bullimore.

I've also seen Martin Platts selling cheese and Des Barnes at a kid's cricket match Grin. Actually come to think of it Martin Platts had a TV show to go with his book 'The Great Northern Cookbook which us actually excellent.

HirplesWithHaggis · 10/02/2016 21:38

I did actually lol at the "Sally, been there, done that" line. Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/02/2016 21:50

I'll chip in, Savoy.

Talking of "the big house" is Jim still there?

Rachel0Greep · 11/02/2016 08:56

Me too, savoy!

ajandjjmum · 11/02/2016 11:33

Do hope they handle the Simon/Leanne reporting to Police sensitively.

Akire · 11/02/2016 12:25

Not sure what police are going to do- obviously easier prosecute football incident but still 50:50 could be accident. Would they send him away? He's alreadimg having counselling.

unless he's going get sent to specialist foster carers?

eddiemairswife · 11/02/2016 13:12

It'll probably end up with another trip to Portsmouth. That's the usual response to a Simon crisis.

mollie123 · 11/02/2016 16:22

Joe Duttine (related to the other Duttine actor) who plays Tim has appeared in other things before he joined Corrie. Hopefully if he does leave he can go on to do more drama as he is one of the few who can act.

Rachel0Greep · 12/02/2016 00:34

Yes, see my 'spoiler' upthread . He opts to go to live with Peter, apparently. He is no loss to the cobbles, IMO.

Monty27 · 12/02/2016 01:28

I love the observations of hygiene in the 'caff'.

It's only a soap Grin

It bores me to tears these days I have to say, and I was a fan for years.

theliverpoolone · 12/02/2016 18:27

I've always thought they should have had Simon going to live with Peter from the start (when Peter left). If the boy playing him didn't want to leave they could have had him coming back to stay with Leanne/Ken every school holiday.

thenightsky · 12/02/2016 20:24

Am I bad to love the sight of awful Simon being put in police car?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 12/02/2016 20:48

I've just RTFT, having dropped off for a few months. I have been having my longest break from Corrie since I was at university in the 80s, haven't watched since about November (Ted Robbins had just appeared). The saddest thing is that I haven't really missed it Sad. I think I'll give it another go though.

millimat · 12/02/2016 21:58

When did Tim get a fancy new van?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 12/02/2016 22:00

If Leanne has any sense she'll destroy the recording of it being an accident and let Simon go to the YOI.

the izzy/ canabis story line reminded me a few years back ,when somebody, cant remember who maybe spider , cooked some cakes with canabis in and emily, rita and norris got stoned.
corrie at its best

Rachel0Greep · 13/02/2016 06:53

Oh yes, I think I remember that. Grin

I had read about the current cannabis story, and just thought Hmm...
