I got to Farrah Shock the way she spoke to Dr Drew Shock

*Maxi not Mackenzie

I also agree about Catelynn and Tyler, as lovely as they can be I feel as though a lot of what we see of Tyler now is false and putting on a show for the cameras although I really would like to think I'm wrong on that one! I can't help but thinking it all stems down to the arguments they had last season regarding his "right" to discuss Carly "he made her" despite her adopted parents not to do so.

I think he carries a lot of anger and frustration about their lack of relationship with Carly.

beepbeeprichie · 01/08/2017 20:24

Yes Melina I agree. Tyler has definitely got a lot of issues. I'm sure I read somewhere that he had been abused once when young- would need to google to confirm what was said. Then you add the perpetual disappointment of Butch, the fact that April wasn't exactly up to much for a long time as his step mum, AND then the Carly thing. It's a lot for one young man. Plus the cast, while paid, are probably not paid in proportion to how recognisable they are. It must be a huge intrusion into their lives that they are stuck with now to keep up their lifestyle.
What actually happened with Brandon and Theresa? They were so reasonable before and allowed Carly at the wedding.

MelinaMercury · 01/08/2017 21:54

I'm not 100% sure what happened but from what I saw I kind of assumed that it was a combination of Butch breaking the agreement that they had made with C&T before the wedding by introducing himself as her Grandpa, the revelation about their long term use of marijuana and Tyler's constant refusal to stop discussing Carly/B&T whilst filming which ultimately led to them distancing themselves from them.

I think theirs is the story that everyone wants to work out because they've both had out rough and made an incredibly tough decision as young people but it's hard to know if B&T are being unreasonable or not given the extenuating circumstances of continuous filming for the past 9 years. I'm not sure what the legalities are of an open adoption in the U.S.

SophiaTiara · 02/08/2017 10:08

I read the contact stopped after Tyler posted pictures of Carly on his Facebook page around 2y ago that B&T explicitly told them not to.

This was after the other incident on the show where T said it was his daughter and he could post what he liked.

It's a shame Tyler's mum didn't support them in keeping carly. It's like none of their parents gave any thought to how either they could assist or how c&t would recover afterwards.

Have to say I've watched the show since 2008 and it's been massively eye opening up drug use / epidemic in the US, especially the south and mid west.

If I hadn't watched this show (and been recommended to watch Intervention on A&E or you tube), I'd have had no idea that drugs were everywhere in US especially opiates, fentanyl patches etc

Every family on teen mom, teen mom2 has at least one member with drug problems except farrah

I've lots of friends went out a lot and don't know anyone in England who took anything apart from occasional weed, cocaine a few times in their teens. It's pretty shocking

MelinaMercury · 02/08/2017 11:35

That sounds plausible Sophia and agreed they couldn't do right for doing wrong, one side telling them to choose adoption and the other telling them to keep her. Such a hard decision for 2 young kids to make and I remember watching it absolutely heartbroken for them :(.

Also agree re the drug use but sadly it's becoming a more prevalent issue here too with "legal highs" and cheap drugs flooding our streets, very sad and worrying!

I remember being really shocked when Amber admitted she had never filmed an episode of TM sober until she had gone through rehabilitation and now we see Ryan going through the same too. I have wondered though if they are using the show as a platform to discuss drug use amongst young people to raise awareness in light of Valerie Fairman's death.

beepbeeprichie · 03/08/2017 21:25

Sophia there are some great documentaries out there at the moment on this. Try Heroin: Cape Cod USA (I think it's called). Will google to find the other one I saw recently. More young people are dying from drugs than road accidents. The over prescription of opiates is coming home to roost with horrific consequences.
