bugger, couldn't open it.

DT's hair is defying gravity.

UnquietDad · 12/12/2006 13:36

I think you need to have the BBC Media Player installed to play any official BBC clips.

Oh balls, the sound isn't working on my computer!!!!

Will have to wait until I am back in work tomorrow and look then!

I will get by for now though - am watching Genesis of the Daleks on DVD after being sent home sick. Sometimes a classic Who is the best medicine!

UnquietDad · 12/12/2006 13:38

"to hold in my hand a capsule that contained such power...."

I hope that Catherine Tate woman isn't annoying. One thing that lets her down (imo) are her accents - they are just shite.

MossletoeAndWine · 12/12/2006 13:47

UQD - "Yes. I would do it. That power would set me up above the gods. And through the Daleks I shall have that power!"

IT IS BRILL!!

I decided that as my Dr's appointment was at a twenty to four, I'd have a Doctor's appointment before hand

MossletoeAndWine · 12/12/2006 13:59

Foxinsocks yes I am a bit dubious about Catherine Tate... is it another "Love & Monsters" comedy effort (still can't decide what I thought about that one)?

Well last year's xmas spesh lived up to no exceeded my expectations so I am going to trust Russell T...

Pixel · 12/12/2006 18:38

Has anyone put the youtube clip on here yet?

Pixel · 12/12/2006 18:48

Should have said SPOILER. Sorry!

JollyOldSaintNikkielas · 12/12/2006 20:53

The you-tube trailer?
Wasn't it deleted?

UnquietDad · 12/12/2006 21:28

The YouTube clip keeps being taken down and put back up.

Great ti hear "Genesis" still being quoted after all these years... It's not a bundle of laughs, though, is it? For that perfect union of comedy and drama you need "City of Death".

It was there when I did the link earlier 'cos I checked.

MossletoeAndWine · 13/12/2006 09:07

UQD I have to admit I'm not old enough to have seen Tom Baker's Doctor "first time round" as it where. I grew up on a diet of McCoy, and then the wilderness years, relying on Terry Nation and Terrance Dicks books to get me through...

...And therefore haven't actually seen City of Death. But chrimbo's coming up; if dh isn't sick of getting me Doctor Who stuff every single year I could put in a request!!!

SueBaroo · 13/12/2006 09:44

whirls with mad excitement

DT in a suit, soaking wet. All my Christmasses come at once..

JollyOldSaintNikkielas · 15/12/2006 20:36

10 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pixel · 16/12/2006 00:55

I'm going to be at my sister's house on Christmas day surrounded by aging rellies and I know they will all groan if I announce I want to watch Doctor Who .

So, I've already been priming dd to be as whiney as she likes (she isn't normally)or anything else it might take to make sure we get to watch it . How could they refuse a little girl on Christmas day? Sneaky huh?

JollyOldSaintNikkielas · 16/12/2006 21:07

Made sure everyone had gone home last year and got kids ready for bed so we could watch it in peace

UnquietDad · 19/12/2006 13:03

and we have another

Click 19 on the Advent Calendar!

Love the freaky Spiderwoman Empress thing. "Thisss - planet - shall be SCARRRRED!!"

every night my ds(5) and dp watch an old dr who vid. they are coming through the post daily, today they're watching 'the evil of the daleks' it's so old it has whiskers as my mil would say.

UnquietDad · 19/12/2006 17:52

Only ep 2, SEA, I assume?...

OP posts:
southeastastra · 19/12/2006 18:03

it was on a video 'daleks the early years'

UnquietDad · 19/12/2006 21:22

Oh, that one. Yes, I know that one.

Make sure they watch "The Daleks' Master Plan" episode 2 - it's the best of those surviving "odd" b&w ones. You do know that the BBC got skip-happy and junked loads of episodes in the mid-70s? A few have since turned up from ovrseas prints, sometimes whole stories but more often than not just odd episodes. Rumours abound about the existence of some of the "missing" ones...
