Liking the look of Jay's tango. And Anita's rumba could be entertainingly filthy.

There's a clip I've seen of Gleb doing a fabulous rumba on Russian DWTS - admittedly armed with a Russian figure skating champion which gave him a bit of a head start.

emotionsecho · 27/11/2015 20:01

Anyone I'll have to watch thatGrin, have you seen the Paso Doble he did with her?

Anyone know offhand when the final is? I've got a number of things happening in the next few weeks and I need to plan carefully!

digerd · 27/11/2015 20:01

I have sadly missed parts of IT2 on several occasions, but tonight I changed over at 5.50pm and couldn't believe what was on and carried on. Confused.

Anita and Georgia looked really good in their training.
Ian had said Helen should not turn her knees out when her feet close together but that is what she was doing tonight in her training clip . A disadvantage of her intense ballet training. Her knees will be hidden though if she wears a long full skirt.

I shall be keeping fingers crossed for Anton and Katie in their AT.
And hope there will be nothing to delay tomorrow's SCD show.

Mini - He looks more like Wallace than Grommitt the dog to me Grin

comeagainforbigfudge · 27/11/2015 20:46

the final is the sat before xmas emotion

Queenbean · 27/11/2015 23:07

Emotion no you're right - Gaby wasn't a serious contender to win but I remember the judges telling them both that they shouldn't be in the dance off

If it was up to the public though they'd let through some truly dreadful people and it is meant to be a dance competition, I like that the judges make sure that it is

Samcro · 27/11/2015 23:20

i love the show
I hope PA is in dance off this week against georgia ...then he will be gone.
my faves are Jay.anita and Katie

emotionsecho · 28/11/2015 02:16

Thank you comeagain, much appreciated.

hudyerwheesht · 28/11/2015 07:58

There is more about the "ongoing rumours of a fix" in the Daily Wail today....

Apparently the Beeb are "stunned" at the uproar. Hmm

AnyoneButAndre · 28/11/2015 08:19

I don't do the Wail, but for anyone who does there is apparently fun to be had in counting the number of factual errors in that article.

SoupDragon · 28/11/2015 10:18

The public often votes for most entertaining, not best dancer

But is that necessarily wrong? A large proportion of the public will have no idea at all whether someone is a good dancer, they just want to be entertained.

ppeatfruit · 28/11/2015 10:29

Wasn't sure about Anita's 'nightie' type frock for her rumba when we finally got to watch ITT Grin

DD1 was watching with me making odd 'this is crap' type faces at me, when we watched what she wanted to watch which was Lip Sync. Contest FFS!!!! I made 'this is crap" faces at HER with justification!!!!!!!

Though Aled Jones certainly showed those others in Blackpool how to do `handheld camera' presenting didn't he?

DansonslaCapucine · 28/11/2015 10:35

I do like a white dress in a Rumba. I will always remember Stephanie Beacham's rumba with James Jordan. She wore white. The dance was utterly filthy and I loved it so I have high hopes for Anita ad Gleb's.

Yes, Aled Jones is at least a competent presenter.

We all think Karen Harding should replace Bruno as a judge. Are you reading BBC?

digerd · 28/11/2015 11:57

I love Aled. Smile

Strictly has always been a personality contest with the viewers and better dancers have been booted out before the worse dancers.
The judges have been very disappointed but it is what the viewers want that makes the show popular not what the judges want.

hudyerwheesht · 28/11/2015 12:12

Indeed anyone: "Jamelia was voted off this weekend and on Monday she said the result was fixed"

Er, no she didn't. That's not even paraphrasing what she said!

*disclaimer - I don't do the Wail either, was DH that told me about it.

IthoughtATMwasacashpoint · 28/11/2015 14:37

The Sun have another 'startling' revelation.

For those not wishing to sully their screens (I have washed my hands, applied eye bleach and disinfected my laptop), it says that the judges watch the dress rehearsals on monitors, sitting with a producer so they can rehearse their comments etc. The inference is that the producer would probably have the previous weeks voting figures thus allowing manipulation of the judges' scores

They've mentioned watching dress rehearsals - 'it's such a shame, you did that so well in the dress run' type comments.

Next Sun 'revelation' will probably be that all the judges have a prior knowledge of dancing Hmm

IthoughtATMwasacashpoint · 28/11/2015 15:12

Next Sun 'revelation' will probably be that all the judges have a prior knowledge of dancing

Now that would be startling Smile

Redcrayons · 28/11/2015 16:55

I'm shocked to my core about that revelation. I might never watch it again I'm that outraged Confused

SheHasAWildHeart · 28/11/2015 17:28

I'm shocked that they rehearse their comments, does Bruno rehearse his pantomime behaviour too?

digerd · 28/11/2015 17:40

Isn't it the 'free for all' on the dance floor doing the quickstep of all things tonight.? Dangerous me thinks. Hope there are no crashes into each other.

ThursdayLastWeek · 28/11/2015 17:42

Evening all, checking in for later.

I can't say I'm surprised that the producers and judges conflab before the show - how on earth would they figure out the generic running under otherwise?
