Okay I've been following this thread for ages. Catching up on scd this morning (dd's bed time when it's actually on)

Anyway
WTAF was kellie n Kevin samba all about?!! Their outfits were so distracting as well.

G&G's Charlestown was FAB-U-LOUS!!!

Oh and PA's wee boy was funny with his comment re PA getting lots of points "but only if he deserves it"

You can add Denise Van Outen, Lisa Snowden and Kelly Brook to that cold soulless, and obviously had shit loads of dance training group.

Anyone seen the stuff in the press about Ola leaving or am I late to the party on that one

Catching up too, loved Georgia and Joe Varney (as she calls him according to the brilliantly witty monkseal) really wish Aliona would come up with some outstanding choreography for jay it was good last night but a bit bland which is why others are overtaking the marvellous Jay and in fact why he might not win.
Loved Anita and Gleb again undermarked. The two K's dance , I usually love all dances but like Craig I really was like ooh not sure when they started they did win me over in the end.
Love Claudia she really knows how to handle Peter if you want to see Jeanette with a donkey.. great line! I really liked their dance too, my least favourite last night jamelia although I like Tristran.
Love Jeremy and Karen he is just loving it so much last weeks go west was a favourite especially the bit he skipped round clapping his hands he looked so full of joy at dancing even though he knows he is not very good Also Karen is the female dancer we would most want to be in my house since the sainted Flavia left!

Aliona needs to move Jay beyond just holding her while she does all the fancy stuff. That's why his dancing out of hold is the best for it isn't about her. He was wasted in the AT and yesterday.

Also just caught up. What a weird episode, bizarre marking and yes, godawful music.

Loved Georgia & Joe Varney, though. Both dh and I hooted at Helen's 'fierce' tango face. She looks like a shiny botoxed manga character, very off-putting.

I think most of us agree that the dances work better with their traditional intended music esp the tango. But I wonder in its efforts to compete with X Factor and to attract a younger crowd the producers are trying to choose more up to date music? They had Adele's 'Hello' on a dance just a week after it was released.

My friend texted during the programme to say she won't vote for Georgia because she must be a trained dancer.She isn't though, is she? Pretty sure she's not a stage school kid.

I remember when Louis Smith was on SCD the judges went on and on at him relentlessly about facial expressions and character, much like they are doing with Jay, and it put the public even more in his corner.

I've been looking at the male pro dancers faces when they are doing ballroom, hard work but someone has to do it, and mostly their faces are pretty expressionless/serious. I still think the Judges were totally wrong criticising Jay for lack of character when he was the 'wolf' a couple of weeks ago as, for me, he was very much in character, the cheeky start, the look at the end, it would have been hideous if he'd been pulling faces throughout the dance.

I hope Jay stays in, he was in the danger zone this week due to the crap marks and that he gets a high energy dance (salsa maybe?) for Blackpool which allows him to express a bit more.

According to Wiki, Georgia only seems to have gone to ordinary schools. I guess she may have done dance as an extra curricular activity but hasn't been to stage school it seems.

I think Jay looks completely vacant when he's dancing though. It's not just the facial expressions, he mostly just seems to be doing the steps IYSWIM.

Louis Smith "got it" after the Charleston IIRC.

Georgie and Giovanni are my clear favourites now (though Jay's jive remains my favourite dance).

They just seem to have a combination of things, rapport with each other, likeability, talent, fun - doing well but not taking it too seriously.

I'm on holiday at the moment and missed last night's and will probably missed tonight's. I've paid for some data just so I can read this thread and keep caught up

DD woke me up from a dream about Jay this morning

I think the BBC are going all out for a Jay win. I imagine he's getting as many votes as most of the other contestants combined and the adverse comments are just ramping up the votes. They'll get him an acting coach and he'll have a transformation like Louis Smith had.

Georgia has danced before - modern dance, hip hop and free style apparently.

Both she and Kelly are short and lack the lines that taller people have. But excel at the Jive and Charleston usually.

Georgia has youth on her side while Kelly has not but has experience and wisdom . Also stamina and strength.

I think poor Jamelia will go tonight.

I think the BB favourites are PA, Kellie and Helen, they seem to be getting the most favourable treatment and I think they want another Eastenders winner!

I think they want a male winner and they know that undermarking or criticising the preferred candidate is the way to get it. I doubt if Jay will ever be in a dance off and he'll probably win the final by s country mile. I'll only rethink that if the betting odds change.

Wasn't that keen on the group dance. My favourite was the chess one!

Blooming Anton - he didn't look once at Katie last night (have only just watched it) - he's so busy being in love with himself and grinning at the audience - and yet the judges have the cheek to tell off Jay for not looking at A enough! Anton is really crap and self-congratulatory this year.

And I don't like the way Katie screws up her face to smile.
