Hubs is flying to Germany for his brother's stag weekend this morning, he is a bit concerned that flight will be cancelled and he'll have to spend the weekend with us instead of beer and strippers

Just found it The Wenlock Arms off the Regents Canal.

My DS is most put out that we aren't going to Scotland for the snow. Shall I send him up for the weekend Jen? A house full of barely continent boys shouting and screaming is probably exactly like a stag weekend so MrJ won't feel like he's missing out...

Yes it is near the Wenlock arms, which used to be an old codgers pub near Hoxton (Shoreditch) and London Fields - both very chi chi areas these days... I used to cycle along the north side of the canal right across London to Paddington. Happy days...

If it is 2 boxes of tissues he definately comes prepared. I would love to say that I got my cold from BA when we were doing some intense snogging sessions the other day.

I've an Elton John CD playing in my car at the moment (too lazy to change it as it's been there for at least two weeks now). Just come back from shopping and one of the tracks was "I'm Still Standing" and it reminded me of MD and CJ singing along on the way to his sister's wedding in "Here Comes the Sun".

No sign of sun here today though. When it's not been tipping it down, we've had squally hail showers.

You can tell him there's no snow pix but send him up anyway, one more makes no difference to the madness. Youngest has decided to revert to the highest level of gobshitery possible this week so I've gone for bribery to behave with a dirty great McDonald's for lunch great parenting

The stag trip has successfully departed. God help the Germans is all I can say.

I do like a man who brings his own tissues. Just saying...

Great update Jen. So near yet so far. Please, please, please don't keep us in suspense too long.

Had a massive shock earlier - been thinking about a new bathroom and know it's going to cost but the ballpark figure I had in mind was nowhere near; in fact it was three times what I had thought when I went into my local bathroom showroom. Think I'm going to have to look around. I thought it would be good to support a small local company but maybe not now! May go and have a look in Homebase tomorrow to get some more realistic figures, but I have to get rid of my mother's elderly friend, the Queen Mother, first. She had a real cheek inviting herself over. I wasn't quick enough to think up an excuse.

Think it's time to open that wine.

I have decided to watch 'The Longest Yard' on DVD tonight with the ovary bursting Scott Eastwood. The DVD has a warning about strong sex sounds right up my alley can't wait! When the film was at the pictures, they'd cut out all the saucy scenes. Bah! I've been informed there's a fab soapy shower scene between the main couple so I may have to watch it a couple of times for research purposes.
