When they show other victims being eaten, there are usually one or two walkers targeting the face.

You are right, it's too far fetched, but
they can't kill Glenn! Angry

He's my favourite character Sad

TheWoodenSpoonOfMischief · 27/10/2015 09:25

Do zombies develop really sharp teeth? Can humans devour raw flesh with as much ease as the zombies do?
They're so lethargic generally that it just irritates me when they suddenly bite someone and tear off a huge chunk out of them in a split second.
[random zombie analysis]

jaxswagger · 27/10/2015 09:27

Woodenspoon,
I was thinking the same thing. Most of a humans teeth are for grinding, not tearing, so how come they can tear of huge chunks in a split second?

QueenStromba · 27/10/2015 09:30

Humans can bite chunks out of other humans. Apparently your jaw is strong enough to bite your own finger off but your brain stops you.

limitedperiodonly · 27/10/2015 09:34

Good point wooden. Gum hygiene is the key to keeping your teeth over a lifetime and beyond and zombies don't floss.

I thought the RV stopped working because of the gun shots fired by the wolf at Rick? Rick was over by the steering wheel and the wolf shot at him but he dived out the way onto the passenger seat. Could the bullets have gone through the dash or something and stopped the van starting? (I don't know anything about mechanics!!)

I'm worried about that jar of baby food. I hope it's so Rick knows they were at Alexandria, and maybe gives an added impetus to him getting back, and not that they have Judith. Surely if Rick suspected they could have Judith he would have stealthily killed 2 of the 3 that were at the side of the RV (visible in the mirror) and questioned the other. But I could be clutching at straw there! We didn't see her on the baby monitor at the end and Edith (if she is a wolf) could have easily taken her.

Yeah, but now I know how Glenn must have felt!
Starting a thread in AIBU can be like falling into a pit of zombies, Grin

Okay, so at least I've had a crash course in spoilers and the etiquette around spoilers Hmm
So, is all good. I think

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 27/10/2015 10:09

I've rewatched.

My clearly expert Wink opinion is that;

Rick hurt his hand with his knife, he's not bitten. He's just wounded. Then he gets attacked by the Wolves that Morgan let go.

Nicholas must have fallen on top of Glenn. He was covered in blood from the bullet wound, though, so hopefully he'll be able to do that "covered in guts" thing and be undetected, hence not having his face or legs eaten. He looked pained like he did when he watched Noah die, rather than like you would if your guts had somehow moved into your chest and were being eaten. He'll get under the dumpster, the zombs will move towards a sound - Darryl going past to save Rick? Rick shooting? Something at Alexandria? And Glenn will survive.

Rick is going to be even more convinced that they need to stop saving people and be ruthless, if he finds out that Morgan let those exact walkers go. He probably will, because of the baby food. I wonder if Glenn would go the same way? He's the only person not to have killed someone yet, I think? It'd be a big change.

Next week did seem to be about Morgan but I don't think it looked like a flashback. I'm hoping to god that it's not...we're probably due back at Alexandria, though, so I'm thinking it'll be about Enid and Carol etc, rather than finding out what happened to Glenn or Rick.

jaxswagger · 27/10/2015 10:18

Anchor,
I also thought he looked more pained (as in when he watched Noah die) than in in pain from being eaten.
So he could still be alive.

brittanyfairies · 27/10/2015 10:24

You lot are clutching at straws, he's as dead as a dead thing. I'm not watching it again though, once was traumatic enough.

I wouldn't be bothered if Rick got eaten though, I'm not sure he has any redeeming features left. Although I'm starting to like Coral these days and two seasons ago I would have fed him to the zombies myself.

jax you have now inspired a TAAT - that's my ultimate Mumsnet goal, get a thread deleted, TAAT!

1Q84 · 27/10/2015 10:25

The lack of mercy killings was awful and perplexing - they stared at them dying for long enough - and the poor animals.

And I don't know they didn't look for somewhere secure to hide the wounded Alexandrians - if the Walkers keep moving unless distracted (which was the whole basis of the initial plan) then why didn't they find a secure spot barricade the woman with the twisted ankle in, go back to Alexandria and then return to rescue her after the herd passed? Ok its not fool proof but a hell of a lot more sensible than having her hobbling down the street. Or even rub themselves in zombie guts to get a bit of disguise?

I feel very nervous about Judith too, the jar of apple sauce has really made me think they have her. It's the thing that would really give The Wolves power over Rick. It will be awful if they have her.

Meh, she died in the comics so did Carol - I think they have developed personas in the TV series that are independent of the graphic novel.

1Q84 · 27/10/2015 10:27

Next week is a 90 minute Morgan 'backstory' then I think Daryl? - so we mightn't find out till the mid season final.

Damselindestress · 27/10/2015 10:35

I don't understand why they didn't go for the fire escape either! At first I thought Glenn was a goner but looking more closely the Walkers would have been eating Nicholas's guts since he was on top. There's a chance Glenn could escape if he crawls under the dumpster and they're distracted. However he couldn't escape simply by being covered in Nicholas's guts. When Rick's group used guts as camouflage they took them from a Walker so they would smell like them. Fresh guts wouldn't put the Walkers off, it's their favorite snack! There is a small chance Glenn could have survived and I hope he has but then some people think Beth is still alive! Otherwise, what a way to go! I knew he should never have trusted Nicholas!

ElderlyKoreanLady · 27/10/2015 10:36

I don't think they can really do the thing where they disguise themselves in guts to get Glen out. Nicolas shot himself in the head. He didn't turn and he won't, so his guts are lovely human guts that walkers love the smell of. Unless Glen gets under the dumpster, manages to cut into some walkers' legs and wipe himself with some of the fluids that come out?

I think most likely is that something pulls the walkers away, whether that be a sound or Jesus. If someone causes a commotion behind the fence at the end of the alley, the walkers would be drawn to that and Glen might have a chance to slide the dumpster to safety and get out. They established that there were walkers on that side of the fence, but we didn't get a proper visual so don't know how many.

RE why Rick stopped the RV...he was ironically waiting there for the walkers who'd split off from the main horde. His plan was to lead them back to join the others.

What I don't get though...when the horn sounded, why did Rick not tell Sasha over the walkie talkies to sound the car's horn until it stopped? Their horn was much closer than the other one so should have sounded louder and pulled the walkers back on track.

Damselindestress · 27/10/2015 10:38

I don't understand the lack of mercy killings either! I know they might want to save ammo and avoid noise but Michonne could have used her sword to kill the guy who was crushed against the fence being eaten alive by Walkers for ages. That was really hard to watch. I guess it's just to make more dramatic viewing.

jaxswagger · 27/10/2015 10:44

I can't believe there are still some people who think Beth is still alive?

There again, I'm not entirely sure the Governor is dead. I rewatched the episode where he was supposedly killed and it's not that clear cut.

We need the Governor back. He was good, especially when he came back that second time.

limitedperiodonly · 27/10/2015 10:46

Perhaps Carol will kill Morgan and his Broomstick of Vengeance.

Lennie James annoys me in everything. He portrays any emotion from mild irritation to full-out rage by flaring his nostrils.

DraculasDixieNormas · 27/10/2015 10:48

people still think Beths alive?

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 27/10/2015 10:56

I think Glenn is alive. I agree with PP, he'll do the covered in guts trick and hide under the dumpster, then the zombies will be distracted by the sound of Rick shooting at the Wolves and he will make his escape. Not sure what is going to happen to Rick. Maybe he will climb out on to the roof and use the overhanging trees to get away?

Morgan seriously needs to give his head a wobble.

QforCucumber · 27/10/2015 11:10

Dp thinks the Governor is still alive and that the 'W' on the heads really stands for Woodbury somehow.

I think Glenn will be alive, but I also think I'll be really annoyed with how he's alive because they were surrounded from all angles by walkers and going by how quick they usually are to devour something in reality he would have stood no chance.

I think Daryl was heading back home to try and help Carol as
he knew something was wrong.
And in the birds eye view at the end there was a building off to the right, I think if the RV doesn't start then Rick will barricade himself in that somehow - just in the nick of time.

Damselindestress · 27/10/2015 11:18

Here's some info on the people who believe Beth could still be alive:
www.idigitaltimes.com/walking-dead-season-5-spoilers-most-outrageous-beth-death-theory-date-401508

www.facebook.com/BethGreeneAlive

Theories mainly centred around her death being some kind of dream, which seems disproved now that Season 6 has started and no one has had that wake-up moment but some people called Team Delusional are still clinging to the idea that she could be alive somehow. I think they just don't know when to let go, I mean we saw her get shot in the head!

OTOH, this team delusional article about why Glenn could still be alive is more compelling, I love the references to the scene where Rick crawled under the tank when he and Glenn first met.
