Yes they got married as took ages for a divorce as Alfie (lying as usual) said he got q divorce but he hasn't. Kat was annoyed when found out the truth

Sadly Alfie may be a lovable rouge but he isn't reliable :(

And do I take it that GAVIN has been making Phil drink / hence why he wants whiskey ?

Yet I can feel another cold turkey scene ....

Last one was crai when he was locked up by Peggy for drinking and drugs

After sadly seeing dh go cold turkey over booze and fitting badly :( there is no way Phil would have survived his last cold turkey ....

I think that's exactly why Gavin would do it (or arrange it)

In phils circles it's an ultimate act of power over someone. Killing him would be seen as too easy and heroic.

Then of course knowing how Phil has handled Ben over the years Gavin knows exactly his thoughts on sexuality.

yeah you can force someone

easy to force somebody to smoke or they could inject it for them,same a heroine,inject,smoke etc

lots of ways to take drugs whether your the user or recipient

If it was going to be a male rape storyline I think they would have publicised it. They usually give spoilers for stuff that might be triggering, like the Shabnam storyline. I agree that it was probably drugs, drink, torture... A combination of the above.

Quite looking forward to the Halloween episode because it's going to be silly fun. I bet afterwards there's an ad for 'the fireworks in Albert Square'. Every year.

It crossed my mind about possible. rape. Gav obviously made him drink again / drugs too no doubt.
I,do like Phil. He has been through loads , he was nicer in the 90s though! He is one of the better actors, but he did go to RADA!

The coincidences are confusing. Gavin is Kathy's ex-husband living in South Africa, mortal enemy of Phil - AND he's Sharon's dad.
Sharon goes to visit her solicitor - who turns out to be sister to the man holding Sharon's husband hostage AND Sharon's aunt.

magpie, I read it years and years ago , the actor that plays Phil is rarely interviewed and is a bit of so and so in real life too I believe. whoever wrote the article said he was there , but they were not sure what to make of him really! He was sweet in the 90s with the whole Sharon gate story with Grant and him in the love triangle for her affections, but he has had so much thrown at him over the years its a wonder he is still walking around! I have never seen the actor in anything else other than EE but I am sure Wikipedia would put me right on that one!

The solicitor ringing Phil is interesting, but considering the blood on the walls and the state he was in I doubt it.

according to IMDB apart from a few pre-easenders credits he's only done voice acting for Grand theft Auto.

He does panto. He has had parts in a few films.
Not done much else apart from EE really.
He did A levels, a few odd jobs , then auditioned for RADA in 84. Was there for a while.
He is mid 50s.
