I've just caught up with Downton as well. Goodness knows why I watch it, for completeness I suppose.

Childrens piriton is quite good for knocking them out, DS has it sometimes for allergies, always guaranteed a peaceful night. He's a terrible fiend for calpol, he's started making up illnesses just to get some. I need to kick some arse at school tomorrow, 3 weeks in and at some point every week he's eaten something containing dairy. Luckily his allergy isn't too serious but I'm the one up with him and his achy tummy at 3am.

Just to introduce a topical note on medications this thread reminds me a bit of last night's Doc Martin when the young, over zealous, aspiring doctor lad started medicating his mother and incurred the wrath of Martin Clunes/Tom Hardy - well Doc Martin but you get the connection.

As for Downton - I'll watch to the bitter end just to see what happens to everyone. I reckon there could be sequel, maybe a Christmas one-off in a couple of years or so featuring the grown up Crawley children - just throwing that idea out ITV for when Julian Fellowes has finished with his American TV projects or maybe someone else could write it. Now must slap my wrist for spending far too much time talking about other TV shows.

Just looking at the number of posts here and we are definitely going to need a new one for Sunday!

Medised was fab. Gutted when it ran out. Luckily mine don't seem to have got poorly as often as they've got older. Children's Piraton is good, especially for itching that goes with chicken pox

Ooh sending get well soon wishes to all the poorly people and littles, hope your all feeling better very quickly. DP has had man flu for well over a week now and my sympathetic nature which was barely there anyway is rapidly decreasing the more he snores at night

woof in the interests of all us TH fans, I suggest an experiment. You snog Martin Clunes and his rubbery lips and I'll get up close and personal with Tom, then we'll compare notes. And perhaps I should use Michael Phallusbender as the 'control' . I'd hate anyone to think it wasn't a serious scientific experiment.

I'm enjoying whajeb's story so much. It's incredible really that the original series has inspired so many fantastic retellings/reinventions. So grateful to the ff writers for helping to keep OG alive.

I watch Holby too but agree storylines are a bit WTF at the moment! And Downton I kinda watched but made me laugh when the episode had pigs

Really sunny here today but looks a bit chilly.

Thanks jen & rich. I'm keeping all kids off school today. One twin is well but I'm not dragging the two ill ones out to take the well one in hope that doesn't sound like bad parenting. They slept okay overnight and seem a bit better today but not great. DD no longer has a sore throat though.

I feel like all my bones are aching though

in order to uphold my end of your experiment, orph I will require at least half a dozen bottles/packs of all the recommended Medised & Piriton, plus a bottle of Rhus whisky and a crate of Benylin to endure a kiss from ol' rubberlips himself Tom, I mean Martin. Obvs if Fastandbendy is the control I'll need a good old go at chewing his face off him available next, but possibly beforehand, and indeed during the suction-fest (to take my mind off it), as well

Oh dear kel sounds like you need a good massage from a certain captain. Hopefully the illnesses have turned a corner now and they'll bounce back tomorrow. As they get older the illnesses get fewer and they're able to cope better when they're suffering too especially if you lock them in their bedroom

I feel like I need a lot of things from CJ today woof. A definite CJ service needed. Yes, starting with a massage also to wet CJ's whistle and ending with a spit and polish will do very nicely.

It's my birthday today so heading off for a boozy lunch with a friend up in London. Will obs be on the scout for BA or lookalikes of BA, TH or any others we have on our lists!!!

Ooh yes Kel I think we can safely say CJ is a banana rather than a cocktail sausage when it comes to a nutritious lunch box

And one of those big-handed Costa Rican ones too, not the fun-sized version in a prepacked bag more suited for orphs use

Back from lunch, slightly cross eyed.... But need to be back for arrival of dad and big sister for cuppa and slice of cake! Not BA look alike a, however I forgot how lovely men look in suits! Went to the Charlotte Street Hotel for lunch which was full of business men looking very dapper! Slightly squiffed so need to focus up for afternoon tea :)
