Fortunately pix I can carry off the harridan in hooded cloak look much better than orph as its only props and make-up over my usual glamorous facade. They just grabbed orph off the street on her way home from Lidls and told her to remove the wolf fleece, put the cloak on and stand there, poor girl. She doesn't normally like being photographed au naturel but Bendmeoverbackwards was in a hurry to take me behind his Winnibego for a drink

MaddieMoo82 · 29/09/2015 16:13

Oh no not dr tamal and his perfectly upright cream horn(s).... Damn..

Rhubarb01 · 29/09/2015 17:26

OK I'm confused and it doesn't take much. After days of seeing this bookmark thing pop up and never actually using it I decided to make use this time around and click on it but now it is not there anymore to click on. Humph! Does this only appear when you aren't logged in?

Oh by the way, Afternoon everyone! Manners Rhubarb, didn't you learn anything in the vegetable patch!

Rhubarb01 · 29/09/2015 17:30

Ah ha! answered by my own petard if it were possible. It seems that it does only appear when you are logged out?? Or at least so I have discovered in my case. How weird!

Rhubarb01 · 29/09/2015 17:34

OK final thoughts on this - it doesn't work and I've decided just go back to remembering where I was. My addled brain can usually manage that.

Onlygirljen · 29/09/2015 18:15

Tentatively doing my first post with the app, I like it! Although not sure I'm ready to be posting yet after the trauma of Clunesgate. I had to skip past Doc Martin on itv last night for fear it would compromise all my lusty TH thoughts Confused

Richtea19 · 29/09/2015 18:57

I have to say I had my suspicions about GBBO Tamal. The way he he lip bites, oops better not say that!!

I watched episode 2 before I went into work today, FF through bits just to get to my favourites and I was short of time, but really with all our lusting of TH etc, CJ really is the one!

icemistOBE · 29/09/2015 19:31

Indeed, Rich I too was wondering if Tamal perhaps owns a diarrohea coloured jacket as well as being a master of lip bites and big syringes... Confused

Rhubarb01 · 29/09/2015 20:15

Totally off the subject here - don't know if anyone has read the trending thread "I shagged my boss last night" - but have been giggling and laughing at that one - I hasten to add it's a humorous thread not a serious relationship problem!

pixieg1rl · 29/09/2015 20:17

Where, rhu? There was a good one this weekend on stupid things your ex did.

Rhubarb01 · 29/09/2015 20:27

Try here pix not sure if it will work.

Evening all.

Had a really miserable day with kids today. DD cried a lot today with her sore throat and was beginning to get earache. One twin boy is starting to look worse this evening. I think it could be more of a virus with him than a cold but can't get a doc appt until the end of the week. More kids being off school tomorrow me thinks. Confused

I've never seen GBBO but looked on Tamal's Twitter page and since the 'big' news broke, most of his followers are from gay men fancying a date with him. Didnt someone say said BA follows him too?

Sounds like more people are using the MN app, what's the difference between the MN app and posting on the regular MN website?

Rhubarb01 · 29/09/2015 20:44

Sorry to hear about your day Kelly. Sore throats and ear aches are miserable but they do usually bounce back pretty quick. Don't know about you but I always used to run out of calpol pretty quick with three of them needing it and it's a pain when they limit you to buying about one bottle at a time. The only thing to do is sit down on the sofa with them and resign yourself to having to do nothing else for the day. I just used to give mine a pillow and duvet, plenty of drinks and let them vegetate with children's telly. -

KellyHb · 29/09/2015 20:54

Thanks for the thoughts re: kids, pix woof rhu.

I've tried getting them to lie around to watch a DVD for an hour which they did but they kept wandering around as if they didn't know where they wanted to be. Yes rhu didn't get a thing done today in the house. Will have to do a calpol run tomorrow at some point.

Nickel45 · 29/09/2015 20:58

You can only buy one bottle of calpol? Uh oh!!
Back when my DS was little we had Calpol Night, Medised and Calcold - they were the nuts! Then they brought in this rule about not using them on under sixes or whatever it was ... (whispers - I used to pretend it was for an older child who was at school! Eek!)

Hope your lot kel, and everyone else who is sufffering, gets better soon ... xx

Rhubarb01 · 29/09/2015 21:06

You can always visit multiple retailers and stockpile calpol if you want but the last time I tried to buy a bottle of calpol plus a packet of ordinary paracetamol tablets in my local Tesco's the computer said 'no' because of the limits. It is a bit daft really if you can go round the corner and get some more but I tend to just buy it when I'm getting the groceries and then run out at the most inconvenient times.

Oh golly you can tell it's Tuesday night. Do you remember when SPO used to do stats for us and Tuesday was the quietest day of the week. We all used to be worried in case we were the week's busiest poster!

KellyHb · 29/09/2015 21:12

Thanks nickel.

Hope your sore throat gets better too ice

Going to try and rewatch Doctor Foster soon from last week ready for tomorrow night's episode. I can't remember much what happened. I probably fell asleep. I'm normally nodding off watching TV before bed. Confused

Onlygirljen · 29/09/2015 21:34

Nickel medised was the absolute nuts, it was the only thing that would ever let my eldest get a sleep when he was sick (which was the majority of the time). You could give it at 6 months back then although I may have tried that buying it for an older child trick when they changed the rules. Shock

Hope everybody that's feeling off starts to pick up soon (kids included Kelly)

Ilovelblue · 29/09/2015 21:46

I'm here. Just watched Holby City but the storylines are getting more and more ridiculous. Richtea are you the one who is a Holby fan? What do you reckon?

Doing a couple of photo calendars for next year for myself and my Amsterdam/Keukenhof friend whilst they're on special offer. Catching up on Sunday's Downton as well (it's good to skip over the adverts which drive me mad).

Rhubarb01 · 29/09/2015 21:55

I used to like Benylin when it had the sedative stuff in it. It was totally useless for the cough like all cough syrup, but it helped you nod off and stop coughing for a while. I'm guessing that kids stuff was similar. Of course, strictly as an adult you could always try the old remedy of whisky, hot water, sugar and lemon juice just before bed - sends you off very nicely for a snooze - but don't mix with tablets I hasten to add. It definitely, needs to be instead of tablets. Do I need a disclaimer here that I am not medically trained so take make advice at a pinch of salt.

Ilove I caught up with Downton last night and couldn't believe that the darn pigs are back again! How anyone can make so many storylines involving pigs over two series beats me. Apart from that it was a bit yawn, yawn. Lady Mary's accent is really starting to grate on me. Waiting for it all to conclude happily on Christmas Day - or maybe not!

Rhubarb01 · 29/09/2015 21:57

That was gobbledygook wasn't it and sounded like another recipe - take my advice at a pinch of salt - I know nothing!

Ilovelblue · 29/09/2015 22:01

Rhubarb I have just been thinking how false Lady Mary's accent is myself! I love the clothes of that era, so elegant, but other than that, the whole thing is beginning to irritate me and I definitely reckon Downton has outlived its usefulness..

Richtea19 · 29/09/2015 22:03

Medised was the best for my boys, it just used to knock them out! They very rarely woke in the night, when a cough would normally wake them all night.

ilove yes it's me that's the Holby fan. Getting ridiculous story lines, but somehow still love watching it. It might be better now that Jac is back in it?

kelly I hope you get a better night tonight with the kids.
