I'd say

Ned stark (game of thrones) don't understand why he was killed off so early, could have kept him as the good guy against the lannisters for ages

James Noakes (Dexter) they could have kept him for much longer, I loved how he knew Dexter was evil and was on to him but no one else noticed

YY to Ned Stark.

Christopher Ecclestone in Fortitiude, I can't remember what his character was called. He was on all of the promo's etc and only made an appearance in the first episode before being killed off.

FadedRed · 22/07/2015 20:21

Ben Miller's character in Death in Paradise- no need to have killed him, he could have just gone home.

Hexadecimal1 · 22/07/2015 20:22

Barry in Eastenders

I can clarify that Charlie thingy, who played Janine, does NOT appreciate being asked why she killed him off so early Grin

wowfudge · 22/07/2015 20:56

Pierre in Engrenages/Spiral. Can't believe he left for that crap Mr Selfridge!

wafflyversatile · 22/07/2015 21:10

Will in The Good Wife. Angry

ShelaghTurner · 22/07/2015 21:18

Assumpta Fitzgerald in Ballykissangel. 17 years on and I'm not even nearly over that.

beaverbill · 22/07/2015 21:22

Waffly, I came on here to say Will. I sobbed for a good 20 minutes when it happened!

GraysAnalogy · 22/07/2015 21:23

It was Doakes wasn't it? I agree on that one soo much, he was fabulous. One episode showed a flashback of him and I got excited because I thought he'd magically come back.

Game of Thrones, I wish Khal Drogo was in it for longer

Fantasyland · 22/07/2015 21:54

Oops yes it was Doakes not Noakes!

There is loads of fab clips on YouTube I can't stop watching of him saying 'surprise motherf'

Not quite on thread, but highly significant nonetheless - Nigel Pargeter in the Archers, only decent character in the programme and totally unnecessary.

YY to Danny in Spooks - I was about to say the same!

Danny in Grange Hill too.

Christopher Eccleston in Cracker (but he wanted to be written out)

Lane Pryce in Mad Men, and also Sal (who didn't die, but I didn't like the way he was written out).
