Albert? Is he the one that was wanting to drop out in the first few episodes because he didn't think modelling was for him? I've not watched it since the first few episodes.

Who won from the girls' team?

northerner · 17/11/2006 13:33

He was nice but he did have man breasts. Luke had a far better bod.........he was lush.

Albert was so lovely and grounded though.

Marianne should have beat Jen.

That photographer guy - Perou. What is with his sunglasses?!

BettySpaghetti · 17/11/2006 13:36

I only ever saw one episode of this ( the one where the girl with the blonde bob collapsed as she left the room) and Albert stood out as a winner I thought

(nothing to do with the fact I thought he was extremely fanciable of course...)

ledodgyfireworksingedmyeyebrow · 17/11/2006 13:38

Nooo Albert has a well better bod than Luke, he has a real man's bod imo.

northerner · 17/11/2006 13:40

Well i wouldn't say no to either of them

But Luke did it for me.

biglips · 17/11/2006 13:49

yes themoon66 as thats the one

dont think there was a girls winner ??

Albert's face is great and photographs a dream.

He's still slender enough to hang clothes off.

Luke's brother, who was in the audience, had a WAY better look that Luke, and seemed to be a couple of inches taller as well. Hope some scouts spotted him in the audience.

noddyholder · 17/11/2006 13:49

Albert gorgeous Marianne waay too thin and she kept doing funny jaw movements Drugs?Jen looked nice but too big and Luke was gorgeous. The boys definitely deserved it

biglips · 17/11/2006 13:49

the only problem with luke that hes a poser where albert is a natural

Quootiepie · 17/11/2006 13:50

i only saw it last night as nothing else on - he was nice though, i like the "rougher" kind of look, very natural.

expatinscotland · 17/11/2006 13:54

Jen's bottom half was too out of proportion w/her upper half.

The photographer who said the clothes didn't hang off her was spot on.

That is KEY for a model - they're a paid clothes horse, after all.

Marianne, too cookie-cutter a look. You'd forget her in a minute.

A real supermodel, you see their face and know who they are.

expatinscotland · 17/11/2006 13:56

My ex H used to model. You wouldn't know it to look at him, though. But he's what they wanted -6ft., 3in. tall and slender, slender build w/long legs and took a great photo.

He was spotted at a wedding by a guest, who took a snapshot of him and asked to send it to her boss - at an agency.

Although I'm sure a lot of models do starve themselves to conform, the vast majority are basically mutants who are naturally tall and skinny and eat whatever they want and many don't even exercise.

They're just like that and it's the luck of the draw in the genes department.

pooka · 17/11/2006 13:58

And unfortunately for Marrianne, it being a public vote meant that all her little snide comments about women being jealous of her, and her general smugness, meant that she came 4th. Poor thing!
Did feel for Jen being in the bikini on the runway. It's amazing isn't it by how twisted my mind is that I could look at her and think she was big when actually she is slimmer than most women and had a gorgeous face. Marianne too slight I think, and I doubt whether she would be able to model in shows where the BMI ruling applies.
Glad Albert won.

expatinscotland · 17/11/2006 14:01

It's entirely possible she'd pass the BMI if she were in fact, naturally thin.

I think it's just as wrong to discriminate against naturally thin people as it is fat ones.

But she looked too cookie cutter in an industry already glutted w/a million clones of her.

In women, something unique goes a long way.

Look at Lily Cole's face. It looks different and you don't forget her face.

pooka · 17/11/2006 14:04

Same with Stella Tennant and Erin O'Connor (and LInda and even Kate Moss) - you're right, they're all striking. Not necessarily cute or saccarine.

noddyholder · 17/11/2006 14:06

Marianne def had the coat hanger body I didn't really like Jens face although they all raved about it.Dp thought she looked like a barmaid but without the boobs! There were better girls who went out.Senait was gorgeous

pooka · 17/11/2006 14:06

Oh and no WAY was Rachel Hunter a supermodel. Agree that it's unfair to discriminate against natural healthy thinness, but suppose that the unfortunate side effect of having clothes shown on stick-thin models, healthy or otherwise, is that it sets that body image up as a goal for those like me who are not alas blessed with the genes.

Skribble · 17/11/2006 14:06

Twisted mind F*%K I say, why the hell take this girl (Jen) all they way to the final and then slag her off for being to big to be a supermodel. Perhaps if they had got her stuff that actually fitted her she wouldn't have looked so big half the time, Age 12 to 13 bikinis ain't going to do any grown woman any favours.

Duh why did they select her then, was she supposed to crash diet FFS, she was gorgeous and actually looked like a healthy human being. Nobody said the guys were to big even though their were massive differences in size, some of them were horribly skinny some were nice and chunky.

I suppose if they wanted a coat hanger then she wasn't the right choice, god imagine not winning because you don't resemble a bit of bent wire .

Rant over!!

pooka · 17/11/2006 14:07

I thought Anja looked amazing too.

noddyholder · 17/11/2006 14:09

She was slimmer at the start and said she was going to work out and tone up but she actually got flabbier as the weeks went by.Having said that she was slim just not slender as in model size.Poor thing broke the zip on one of the dresses The judges were vile to her

pooka · 17/11/2006 14:11

But they DID seem to want her to go on crash diet and exercise regime! They seemed to want her to lose inches in the space of weeks which just isn't healthy. And Rachel Hunter kept making comment about how she herself had to constantly diet in order to fit in with the industry. But at least she didn't have to do it on television.

Skribble · 17/11/2006 14:12

I really wanted Jen to stick two fingers up to them and march off the stage and never come back then go onto have an amazing career and then set up her own normal sized model agency. .

imaginaryfriend · 17/11/2006 14:14

I liked that grumpy brummy one with the black hair who got kicked out earlier on in the series. She had a fabulous face and a good body without being too paper thin.

I didn't like Jen at all, totally false and calculating. Really dull in fact.

Marianne was just gorgeous, I totally disagree that she was unmemorable, I found her captivating.

Both the guys were great but Albert definitely the most handsome. I think Luke will be the success in RL though.

northerner · 17/11/2006 14:18

I agree Mariannne looked amazing. On the catwalk last night in that dress she looked amazing. I would love a figure like that

My dh thought jen looked like your average slapper in a night club

Think Lule will get more work than albert. Just hope the industry doesn't phase Albert cause he's so unaffected. It would be a shame if it chenged him ala the devil wears prada.

expatinscotland · 17/11/2006 14:27

If you have to crash diet, you really don't belong in that industry.

And that's what the BMI regulations are all about.

Believe it or not, and I was married to a male model, the vast majority of these girls are just stick thin. The men, too. It's in their genes and that's life.

And tbh, the clothes need to be able to drape and hang off the body, and so sometimes if you're not as well proportioned - big on top, small on bottom or vice versa - that's not going to happen.

I know that's how 'normal' people are, but this isn't about that. It's about selling stuff.

And if you think the stuff looks like shit on the model, you're less apt to buy it.
