This last fortnight, I have got dd1 on my side. She doesn't always understand what is going, but she is enthusiastic.

I'll be supporting Stan tomorrow, but with a sense of hopelessness.

my dcs are 12, 8 and 4. Ds is the oldest. The age gaps weren't planned, and can make things awkward at times!

The women's doubles is on- but it doesn't seem to be on the tv anywhere

Would be nice for Safarova to win that. She's definitely put the work in this tournament. Mattek-Sands has already won the mixed.

Am also v cross that they aren't showing the womens' doubles.

And 2 years ago, Dh (when Rafa was playing Ferrer) decided we would have a Barbecue.

Needless to say, I ended up doing all the preparation, and felt guilty for not really talking to my BIL, who dh decided to invite, last minute.
I love BIL, but he talks and I just wanted to watch the tennis that I'd waited all morning for

At least this time around I'm not so invested.

It won't be the same without Rafa.

I just hope Stan does manage to make it a final, as although I do think Novak deserves it (after all the years of coming second to Rafa), it would be nice to see a match. It depends which Stan turns up- he can be a bit unpredictable.

Sadly the Rafa/Ferrer final was not really a classic. And the Soderling/Federer match was very one sided. So I need to be persuaded that, after all these years, a Rafa-less RG final is worth watching.

magi- it is just so rude. Why on earth did they not warrant being shown? Very poor show. And it seems, when they need to, they can extend the broadcast time/ use ITV3, so why not today?

I'll watch - but am not that bothered as to who wins.

May take myself down to the Eastbourne tennis in a couple of weeks time, it's a short bus ride to town for me. Was chatting to my tennis mad neighbour this am & the line up looks good - Safarova, Bouchard, Kivitova, Keys .

Neighbour takes the week off & goes every single day & has been doing so for years & years. I only go if it's a nice day. Learnt my lesson after freezing to death there one year.

You obviously don't have yr family well trained enough over tennis.

A few years ago, when DS got engaged I asked him when they were going to marry & he replied:

"Next May or June, Mum. But not during Wimbledon, as I know you wouldn't come!!"
