Put the ironing board up in front of the TV, Raahh, then you can do both.

Raahh · 06/06/2015 13:36

that's a plan.Grin

come on Safarova!!

OP posts:
Raahh · 06/06/2015 13:37

how insulting to Safarova, that Marion thinks Serena can win by only giving 50%Angry

This is all going to depend on how Serena is feeling. If she's still unwell, Lucie has a chance. If she's miraculously recovered, I fear Lucie will be steamrollered.

Go Lucie!!

Raahh · 06/06/2015 13:39

I sense a miraculous recoveryHmm

Credit due to Andy for managing to take it to a five setter. It was always going to be tough. Can't see Wawrinka being able to do anything tomorrow - over in three sets I predict.

BreadmakerFan · 06/06/2015 14:16

Isn't Serena often ill then stages a miraculous recovery? Djokovic did similar last year. Bad leg then suddenly running like a cheetah

CremeEggThief · 06/06/2015 14:20

I think Stan will take a set off Djokovic tomorrow. As I said already, I believe Djokovic has a good chance of completing the grand slam this year, although I would LOVE to see Roger win Wimbledon again.

I hope Lucie can give Serena a good match today. It's always surprised me that Lucie hasn't really done much in her career, as I think she's an excellent player.

CremeEggThief · 06/06/2015 14:21

What is meant to be wrong with Serena anyway ?

controlaltdlete · 06/06/2015 14:28

Well it's not exhaustion Grin

Raahh · 06/06/2015 14:42

I decided to walk the dog. They couldn't have found 3 commentators more biased towards Serena if they tried. Hmm

Come on Lucie!

OP posts:
Raahh · 06/06/2015 16:28

Well I went out, so only saw a bit of it, but checked the scores on my phone. At least Lucie won a set.

OP posts:
magimedi · 06/06/2015 16:41

I watched the last 2 sets - it was amazing when Lucie made her comeback & I was so sad that she didn't win.

DH did remark that we might be able to do stuff come Monday - but just for a week as then it's Queens!

Raahh · 06/06/2015 16:47

It is just an insult to all the players Serena has played this week- it's saying, look I was really ill, and I still beat you all. But if she'd lost, it would have been because she was ill, no doubt. Wonder how ill she will be at Wimbledon?Hmm

Do stuff??? Grin

Dds are back at school and nursery Monday, so I have a couple of hours Monday to sleep to tidy up the mess. Grin

I'm looking forward to Queen's. I don't know if Rafa will be there, would be great if he was. He was playing Stuttgart this week coming, but I haven't checked if he still is. Can't believe it is nearly Wimbledon. Shock

Hello All.

Pffffft. Bleurgh results all round.

I really want Stan to win tomorrow. Can't see it though.

I live in hope Novak will be a bit weary from playing 3 days in a row, and going to 5 sets.

Not quite the same as playing 5 all in one go though. I reckon Andy would have beaten him, had they played on last night. I realise that was not in any way possible. Grin

magimedi · 06/06/2015 17:16

Am pretty sure that Rafa will be at Queens - found this about the line up:

Murray will join Rafael Nadal, Milos Raonic, Stan Wawrinka, Marin Cilic, Grigor Dimitrov, Feliciano López and Gilles Simon at the grass-court tournament between 15-21 June, which will serve as a warm-up event for Wimbledon.

The American No1 John Isner and 20-year-old Australian Nick Kyrgios will also compete while four-time winner Lleyton Hewitt has been given a wild card for his 16th and final appearance before the Australian retires next year.

Will be sad to see Lleyton retire - I love his tenacity.

MrsVamos · 06/06/2015 17:23

Yy, magi, but line up was 'confirmed' MUCH earlier this year.

I reckon a lot of it will depend how he's feeling generally. I don't think Queens and Wimby are a priority for him any more.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him at both.Smile

What are we supposed to do next week ? No tennis. Sad

I know its not long till Queens etc...

Agree re Lleyton. Will be much missed on the tour. Great player, and nice guy.

Raahh · 06/06/2015 17:25

I will be sad to see Lleyton retire too. Although it gives me hope, that body permitting, Rafa will be around for a while.

It's quite a line up. Trouble is I end up missing crucial bits with the school runGrin

OP posts:
Raahh · 06/06/2015 17:28

I agree about the line up being confirmed early- that's why I'm not sure about Stuttgart. Rafa didn't seem physically unfit, but it will be the mental attitude I guess. And recent years on grass haven't been great.

But, when he's played at Queen's he's done well at Wimbledon, so maybe...

OP posts:
Raahh · 06/06/2015 17:30

But, I think really he should ditch the grass season altogether, and come back fighting in the hard court season. Only that would play havoc with his ranking.

It's complicated, isn't it?

Make 'em walk home - get their priorities right at an early age - your tennis is far more important than your DCs!! Grin

I think Rafa will turn up to Queens - am sure he still wants a good shot at Wimbledon & Queens is great preparation.

MrsVamos · 06/06/2015 17:31

We live in perpetual hope, Raahh. Wink
