It's lost on me too. DH thinks it's amazing I just don't get it.

doublepotions · 30/05/2015 09:19

I don't get it either, think its really crude. I'm not usually prudish.

BeCool · 30/05/2015 09:20

I think it's hideous. My extended family LOVE it, have been to live shows etc. Shock

Grumpyoldbiddy · 30/05/2015 09:20

I hate it. Reminds me of the sort of thing we used to do in sixth form drama lessons. Makes me cringe, it's just awful.

ProfYaffle · 30/05/2015 09:21

Me neither. I accidentally caught the bit where they were all singing and dancing last night Confused Just don't get it at all.

SillyStuffBiting · 30/05/2015 09:21

It is horrendous

chocolatelife · 30/05/2015 09:24

seems from that thing i linked to it IS of course popular in America and they made a film called Agnes Brown
and it was a radio show for years and years.

i dont get it

I've seen a couple of episodes while staying with my mother, she roared with laughter throughout and finds it a totally brilliant program, I was a bit puzzled!

Tommy · 30/05/2015 09:31

I think it's very funny Grin

it's a pantomime isn't it? Not supposed to be real. I love it when Mrs Brown says something unscripted and the other actors have to try and stop laughing. Grin

Pedestriana · 30/05/2015 09:36

It came on last night whilst I was sitting with the cat on my lap. Cat was suddenly ricocheted off the sofa as I leapt up to change the channel - it's awful rubbish, and I couldn't even stand to watch it. Picture me, fingers in ears, eyes closed, flinging the cat off to get to the remote control as quickly as possible.

chocolatelife · 30/05/2015 09:37

i couldnt find my remote in my defense Grin, but then thought I would give it a chance.

GlitterTwinkleToes · 30/05/2015 09:38

Ah we love it in our household. It's Mrs Brown laugh that gets me. I always end up giggling watching it Grin

MadeMan · 30/05/2015 09:43

I can't stand it either; much rather watch decades old Dad's Army than modern comedy.

Moln · 30/05/2015 09:49

Don't understand people liking it either

Puzzled is how I feel too ilovemaragertwood. No idea where the humour is even when someone who finds it funny tries to explain why!

RedRugNoniMouldiesEtc · 30/05/2015 09:52

I can't stand it either - I've never actually watched it though, just gut reaction to the adverts Blush I kept thinking I really should watch one or two and give it a chance seeing as it's so popular (no one else in the house watches it because I've banned it in my presence which may be a teensy bit unfair BlushBlush) however this thread is making me feel less freakish! I just despise toilet humour and cheap laughs - or foul mouthedness (possibly a made up word), it really isn't going to be my thing is it?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 30/05/2015 09:55

We love it, it's funny in a panto type way. Smile

stardusty5 · 30/05/2015 09:58

I like it. I think Tommy's way of describing it as a pantomime is good. It's silly, daft and over the top. It's not trying to be clever or subtle. I'm also one of the many who like Miranda, though many say that they don't get that either.

chocolatelife · 30/05/2015 10:03

i like Miranda, as long as it isnt too much like a farce, which it sometimes is.

I've tried to watch a few times to see if something will click and I will 'get it'. Never lasted more than a few minutes! Awful

pieceofpurplesky · 30/05/2015 10:14

The teenagers I teach love it. My parents love it. I only find it funny when it goes off script and the cast get the giggles. I don't find comedy funny though in general - stuff like the office makes me cringe. I do, however, find cats falling off walls and kids slipping into paddling pools funny not that I watch you've been framed, honest

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 30/05/2015 10:22

Life is too short.

CadleCrap · 30/05/2015 10:31

Do not ever watch the film. If you thought the TV show was bad, the film is utter shite.
