given recent form, things look less than great for Nadal-but he likes the big stage and slams are a different beast to other tournaments.

So- new thread to talk ( mostly) about tennis- though it's not compulsory., and we all have different favourites and respect that others might not love our favourites as much as we do.

so...a week to go. May Murray be less tired, Rafa more confident , and a happy tournament be had by all.

Have caught a little of the action so far. Roger offended me yesterday with his bright outfit clashing so horribly with the court. The yellow today is charming.

Arnaboldi, playing Cilic, is wearing shorts in the same pattern as Monfils's shorts.

They are obsessed this year with whether or not players are wearing the same outfit. I am still wondering how they have coped with the all white rule at Wimbledon for so long!

Almagro is a really good player- though I am firmly Team Rafa, I think it has upset potential. But maybe not over 5 sets. He's never taken a set off Nadal at RG.

Poor Philip K. I do feel sorry for him- he worked so hard to get the match level, and was thwarted by the light. Yet again.

Well, this shouldn't be a tricky match, all things considered, but Rafa does have a habit of making things hard for himself. His serve really needs looking at.
