TENNIS Thread! The French Open is coming- will it be #RG10 for Rafa?

Raahh · 18/05/2015 16:19

or number 1 for Djokovic?

given recent form, things look less than great for Nadal-but he likes the big stage and slams are a different beast to other tournaments.

So- new thread to talk ( mostly) about tennis- though it's not compulsory.Grin, and we all have different favourites and respect that others might not love our favourites as much as we do.

so...a week to go. May Murray be less tired, Rafa more confident , and a happy tournament be had by all.

Vamos

Djok broken back. Interesting set.

JuanPotatoTwo · 26/05/2015 16:20

I didn't see Kyrgios yesterday but that doesn't sound like nice behaviour

DramaAlpaca · 26/05/2015 16:22

Waaahh! This all sounds so exciting & I can't go home for another hour!

JuanPotatoTwo · 26/05/2015 16:23

Back on serve - Jarkko will be disappointed.

MrsVamos · 26/05/2015 16:23

Yes, DH made calls. Has to speak to GP about it also, who may declare Cons a bit loopy, and ask for second opinion on DHs behalf. Hospital said it would be better coming from GP ?

So many people to factor in, its a bit of a minefield but we'll get there.

JuanPotatoTwo · 26/05/2015 16:25

Leave early Drama - they'll never know you've gone. We'll give you a good alibi :)

MrsVamos · 26/05/2015 16:25

They are both playing really well !

We like good tennis. Smile

Bet Novak takes the set now.

MrsVamos · 26/05/2015 16:26

Fabulous ! Shame for Jarkko.

JuanPotatoTwo · 26/05/2015 16:26

Oh I'm glad you're working on it, fingers crossed. See no reason why you can't add your voices to the Gp's - good that he's on board though.

JuanPotatoTwo · 26/05/2015 16:29

Jarkko must be praying that Djok gets hit by a bolt of lightning :) Disappointing for him but gritty play from Djok.

MrsVamos · 26/05/2015 16:30

Yy.

Raahh · 26/05/2015 16:31

come on Jarko. maybe I should go back out.

I don't like Kygrios. I know he's liked on here, but he has the arrogance of youth. He walks that fine line between arrogance and confidence.

(and I don't just dislike him for beating Rafa- he's not in an exclusive club there.) Grin

That was quick work Raahh - did you get the vouchers spent?

MrsVamos · 26/05/2015 16:32

Told you !

I think you'll see this match end. Novak woken up now. Smile

DramaAlpaca · 26/05/2015 16:32

Juan I might just try it, I'll stroll nonchalantly through reception & out the door. I'm sure they won't miss me.

MrsVamos · 26/05/2015 16:35

Who likes Nick K ? There was a couple of posters last year who saw him at Wimby but 'we' all seem to be in agreement ?

Young pup needs to grow up a bit.

Blimey, Raahh. Was Next shut ? Grin

JuanPotatoTwo · 26/05/2015 16:35

Oh Dogsbollocks out :( He hasn't had such a good year has he?

Raahh · 26/05/2015 16:35

oh DogsSad

wasn't he due to play Rafa next? maybe it's a good thing. Grin

DramaAlpaca · 26/05/2015 16:37

Oh no! We all thought Dogs was an up & coming star last year, didn't we?

Not a Kyrgios fan, I have to say. Agree he'll no doubt improve when he's grown up a bit.

MrsVamos · 26/05/2015 16:37

Drama

Fire alarm. Wink

You can run away home.

JuanPotatoTwo · 26/05/2015 16:37

Kyrgios is a strange one - I don't know why I don't like him. He is a bit arrogant but so is Gulbis for example, and I like him well enough.

Yes, think this match will be over pretty soon.

MrsVamos · 26/05/2015 16:38

Oh poor Dogs. Sad

MrsVamos · 26/05/2015 16:39

Bouchard struggling too.

MrsVamos · 26/05/2015 16:44

Kyrgios doesn't have the play to match the arrogance - yet.

Rafa at that age had all the play and none of the arrogance.

Perhaps that's it ?

The young pups all make such a noise these days, I know people thought Roger was an irritating sod but he, Rafa, even Andy & Novak all just quietly went about rising through the ranks. And to be fair, none are outstandingly arrogant now. They let their tennis do the talking.

MrsVamos · 26/05/2015 16:45

Poor Jarkko. He's putting up such a good fight.
