given recent form, things look less than great for Nadal-but he likes the big stage and slams are a different beast to other tournaments.

So- new thread to talk ( mostly) about tennis- though it's not compulsory., and we all have different favourites and respect that others might not love our favourites as much as we do.

so...a week to go. May Murray be less tired, Rafa more confident , and a happy tournament be had by all.

Rafa is getting older. He has been at the top of his game for a decade. I really don't think Mark Petchey has the right to critique the game of a man who has won more titles in a bad year than Petchey managed in his career. (He didn't win any).

I know I'm getting older when, every time a tournament comes round I find myself saying "gosh, has a year gone already, that flew by".

I get the impression that every time Petchey asks one of his longwinded questions, Fabrice is thinking "what is this idiot asking me now, why doesn't he shut up so I can concentrate on the tennis". All in his lovely accent of course.
