Did anyone else see this? I enjoyed it, don't know yet what is going on which is good imo. It was all a bit sudden to become a safe house though

I really enjoyed it, just wish I'd not watched it before dh went away for the weekend !
I thought it was so creepy when the violent guy was waiting for the family to return to the family home.

looking forward to the next episode.

Rozalia · 27/04/2015 09:08

Really enjoyed it. Been going through a tough time and find it hard to concentrate on TV. I didn't have any trouble with Safe House though.

Mind you, it does have Christopher Ecclestone in. Yum. Who is this Aidan Turner? A mere boy Grin.

And yes, the lurking killer. Horrible.

Pixel · 27/04/2015 19:48

Good job they have turned it into a safe house, I can't see them getting much custom otherwise. I wouldn't pay good money to stay in that depressing dump! even if Christopher Ecclestone brought me breakfast in bed.

Pixel · 27/04/2015 19:49

Sorry I know there is no 'E' on the end of Eccleston, my finger slipped honest Blush.

Itwasmybirthday · 27/04/2015 22:31

I'm enjoying this. Although I kept shouting at the teie tonight: they know the bad guy has got the boyfriend's phone, why aren't they using GPS from the phone to work out roughly where he us, and sending police to find him in that area? Stupid!

And, for a house that was kitted out with extra security, you would think they wouldn't have a front door that you can just push open!

But I am enjoying it, honest!

susiella · 28/04/2015 08:37

Itwasmybirthday I know!! They do this on American cop shows as a matter of course. Surely we have the technology here. At least the action took place in mostly daylight this week so you could see what was going on.
Did Roberts GF /wife give the girl a pregnancy tester thingy?
I was momentarily distracted by an angry cat demanding entry via the patio doors.
Also, now I'm thinking the wife Ali, has a connection to the thwarted kidnapper Michael somebody can't remember his bloody name via her sister (now murdered).
I am enjoying it now after last weeks slow start , dark scenes & confusion between Robert & the baddy as both have beards.

EeyoresTail · 28/04/2015 12:19

Am only up to the first break in yesterday's episode and it's all so unbelievable!
How quickly the authorisation came through to turn it into a safe house.
The bad guy broke into the family house before the police went there to go through the bank statements etc. Surely they would have noticed!
Then he breaks back in after they left. Surely the police would have secured it better given his car was seen in the area!
Eccleston gave the girl the phone to call Sam but didn't get it back...After making such a thing of locking them up

cheapskatemum · 28/04/2015 21:48

susiella yes the wife gave her a pregnancy testing kit and it was negative. The daughter was very relieved after that and wanted her phone so she could let her boyfriend know. I think it's showing their steep learning curve: it's not easy running a safe house eg Christopher Eccleston having to mention to Sam that not many people round there knew he'd been shot.

calzone · 02/05/2015 10:50

Ooh, I loved this!

susiella · 04/05/2015 22:10

Right. Well, I think it was the cop Mark who told Reynolds where his wife would be, so his (Reynold's,) hitman could shoot her. I also think Michael thingy bad guy is Joe's father (i.e. not Ali's ex) & he wants him.
I knew it was a bad idea to let the outdoor pursuits bloke take Louise & Joe sailing!
Also not really buying the blonde haired female cop giving the 2nd piece of CCTV evidence to Reynold's defence team, because it was 'the right thing to do' either.
Last one next week, I hope all questions will be answered & all loose ends tied up.

susiella · 04/05/2015 22:16

Also, did Robert & Katy really get authority to run a safe house, or was it just Mark's solo machinations?
He turned really creepy tonight.
Katy obviously cannot stand him, he kept trying to hold her hand & she was having none of it!!

Davros · 05/05/2015 07:48

It looked like kathy had to have some sort of official clearance and had been somewhere - home office? But we didn't see it. It was very rushed

Am loving it. Did you know that Peter Ferdinando (creepy man) was that half man/robot in Dr Who?

Very good so far, just about to watch episode three.

susiella · 05/05/2015 14:06

Davros that's what I mean. I think Mark may have engineered the whole thing for his own nefarious ends. I wonder if he & Katy have had an affair in the past, she finished it & he wants to continue.

calzone · 05/05/2015 21:13

I think Mark and Kathy had a fling and he is now trying to split them up....in the first episode, she saw him and said it was a bad idea to have invited him to the party.

How did baddie get the photos of Joe on the fishing lake?

mollyonthemove · 06/05/2015 08:37

On his phone - he was obviously googling their names. Shame about Mark turning baddy - I thought it was very well done though.

jkdnanny · 06/05/2015 22:19

Katy was odd about Mark at the beginning. I thought it was because she felt like it was a failing on his side that caused Robert to get shot, but maybe there are other reasons.
Seems like she could have been right about mark though-I also think he was the one who told the womans husband the whereabouts. I think Robert also suspects that now too. I don't understand why mark has involved them in this safe house thing though if he stitched Robert up.

diddl · 08/05/2015 06:45

" I don't understand why mark has involved them in this safe house thing though if he stitched Robert up"

Because it would be easy to blame it on Robert again if something goes wrong?

BadgersArse · 08/05/2015 06:46

It's really hugely implausible isn't it. Terrible plot

I'm still enjoying it.

Mind you, I'd probably watch CE open an envelopeGrin

Can't figure the Mark thing out at all.

If Eddie(?) was a known villain that they had been after for a while, would the jury have cared that his wife kissed Robert?

So Mark saying that he kept the footage back for the sake of Robert is a load of crap, isn't it?

If anything he would have wanted Robert's wife to see it!

susiella · 11/05/2015 22:08

Knew it!

Pagwatch · 12/05/2015 17:13

Fuck me, that ended up being a pile of tosh.
I love Christopher Ecclestone but the gaping holes in the plot.. even little things like the car chase when CE spots Joe on the road so parks. He doesn't drive to the boy - he stays far away and chose to cross the terrain on foot .
I tried but dear god..

diddl · 12/05/2015 17:39

What did you know, susiella?

Are we allowed to discuss it?

GratefulHead · 12/05/2015 18:09

I loved it and I think they've set it up for Season Two, thought Paterson Joseph (Mark) was brilliant.

And the scene where Michael Coverdale (Peter Feedinando) was telling the little boy he was his dad and saying "my baby boy" had me welling up.....despite th fact he was a vicious killer.

Really good acting from all the cast.
